U make a good point about being fluid / open to change parts instead of getting attached. I do this with sound selection a lot. Settle 4 mediocre sounds to get rolling and end up with a composition I'm happy with but sonically not where I wanted to be. Guess that's the nice thing about digital music. Can just swap out the sound if it's midi data
I started my producing journey with psytrance, but now I really want to make ambient. Which is not as straightforward to me as psytrance, so these kinds of videos really help! Also by one of my favourites in the genre, thanks Josh! And yes, more please :D
I couldn’t agree more! Simplicity is the key, especially with this style of music, which you do so well. Those electric piano parts in your vid would sound awesome on guitar! If you’re interested, I I have a new vlog coming out today where I recorded a live piano track in our snow Fort! I’m using una corda along with Valhalla verb, both because of excellent advice you gave me a while back. So thank you for that!
Hi Josh! I'm glad you're all right. A very useful video, I will try to make my own music based on your knowledge. I am very grateful to you for discovering Paul's Extreme Stretch for me - it is something very important and special! I wish you and your family good health!
Thanks 4 sharing your process I'm hype to try a new genre. The hiphop stuff is getting stale after 15 years it's just too easy because it's muscle memory. Ambient appears simple because it's minimalistic, but I learned quickly there's more depth to it than it appears on the surface. It's not simplicity , but rather elegance. U got that down
Thanks Josh
