    Hailed by the Baltimore Sun as an artist of “formidable talents,” Russian-American guitarist, Piotr Pakhomkin, is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after concert guitarists of his generation.
    Piotr has performed in concert venues such as the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Theater and Millenium Stage in Washington D.C., Jordan Hall in Boston, Maryland Hall in Annapolis, Teatro Pablo de Villavicencio in Mexico, D.B. Clarke Theatre in Montreal, and the National Theater of Panama City. He performs regularly for the Music Center at Strathmore, Baltimore Classical Guitar Society, Washington D.C. Guitar Society, Waterford Series, LiveArts Maryland, and the Washington County Museum Fine Arts Series. As a concerto soloist, Piotr has appeared with the McLean Orchestra (USA), Annapolis Chamber Orchestra (USA), Orquesta Sinfónica Sinaloa de las Artes (Mexico), and collaborated with conductors J. Ernest Green, Stefano Vignati, and Gordon Campbell. He was also a featured guest on the radio show "Voices of the Chesapeake Bay," WRNR-FM 103.1 (Maryland).
    Collecting an impressive list of awards at home and abroad, Piotr is the 1st prize winner of the 2012 Mexican International Guitar Competition in Culiacan and has taken top prizes at the 2012 Boston GuitarFest International Guitar Competition (USA), Great Lakes Guitar Competition (USA), Montreal International Guitar Competition (Canada), and the International Guitar Competition “Enrico Mercatali” (Italy). Piotr completed his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees under scholarship with legendary guitarist, Manuel Barrueco, at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. He is an alumni of the prestigious Strathmore Artist-in-Residence program (2013-2014 season).
