I'm level 99 already. My suggestion is aim for 90 or 96. The amount of XP needed to level up will have a big leap at 90 and 96. And FYI 94 is your XP mid point meaning the amount of XP needed to go from 0 to 94 is roughly the same as from 94 to 99 so the last couple levels really aren't worth it
There's a hidden mechanic that the game ties to levels. Even though the stats aren't that much different, there is a damage intake/ouput modifier. At level 90, I could barely do enough damange to the event Fatalis, as well as Rajang in S Lair 9. Once I was 92, there was a considerable difference in how many hits I could take, which I thought was strange. At 96, it happened again, and now it's easier than what it was at level 92. Still can't beat Fatalis, but I'll get there lol.
Level 58 sitting at about 80 hours. Took my time with low rank and now I’m farming genes, starting to grab deviants and elders. I’m saving the elders lair because I know the final boss is gonna be quite a “surprise”. Good luck to those who are on their way as well!
Or instead of doing all that you could just use Deadly Horn Jab on Rajang over and over again in Zone 9 since he's the only monster in that Zone that's not considered a "Boss". He nets you about 200,000+ XP everytime. Also to clarify, it is possible to Quick Finish Elders and Deviants but only in random encounters via SR Dens. Any other scenario where they're considered bosses won't allow the Quick Finish (i.e Elders Lair, co-op expeditions, and quests from the Deviant/Elder questline in single player)

Lvl 49 just got swooshed by a Molten Tigrex ... When he started his triple attacks I knew I shouldn't use more healing hearts items but I still did and still bit the dust now gotta go farm again
Level 99. It took my like a full day to go from level 74 to early to mid 90's then like another half a day to reach 99. My biggest advice is while your grinding put on a podcast and don't be afraid to take breaks. My biggest pros to grinding is that it makes it so much easier to level new monsties you get to level 90 in like 20 minutes. And the more you level the stronger your ai companion is.
I am already level 95 since the second week after release thanks to the video of a smaller youtuber but the amount of time it takes even with the best strategie possible is ridiculous (about 2 hours per level) i personaly think this is way to much cause even people like me who dont have a problem with grinding things dont feel like doing this and for casual players level 99 is unreachable if you have work an family etc....
I'm at level 65. Been focusing on gene building and really took my time through the content. I haven't even tried fighting Kulve yet because I'm building up my hellblade and boltreaver.

I'm level 63 playing casually, beat the full game and DLC so far. Honestly I feel bad for people grinding to 99 right now. It'll completely run the experience as more DLC drops in the future. When your team is OP there's hardly any reason to play the game IMO. I'll probably stop at level 75 if I hit it before hard Kulve drops. Kinda wanting to go back and play more Rise now anyway.
I'm level 61 now, trying to get a good setup to beat Kulv. I was able to clear her first fight, but ran out of time. That was me at level 57 I think. Farming better weapons and armor right now, but I was just wondering what the best exp farm method was, and what level I could start quick finishing Elders lair monsters. Lvl 58 now,i finished the story boss at lvl 50 and just finished lvl 2 elder lair.Didn't even start to look for,palamute,kirin and all other deviant and elder Monsters yet.
Unteel you can quick finish those later S elders lairs. its faster to used deady horn + inflict rate up to one shot rajang in S elderlair 9 who will give 225k xp with charm per kill. with no lvl requirement other then getting there first. also it only works on rajang sadly. This helps because my dumbass saved over my main save file so I'm working through the game again. Also, it is only after 2 playthroughs that I realized that the prayer pot’s teeth slowly turned gold as it leveled up.
I noticed that in lulucion and thought it was just the lighting because I have level 20 pot and in mahana they look the same so it’s nice to know I’m not crazy
Level 61 atm, just finished collecting all the deviant/elder monsties I REALLY wanted, next is getting at least HR level 2 gear all around, then I'll start tackling the elders lair, kulve and all that jazz 😁
This is the exact method I used to get to 99. Is it a bit boring after a few runs? Absolutely. But it is efficient. Especially once you're closing in on 99 and the XP per level is like 27.6 million.
I'm around lvl 65 in the game, but only because I restarted the game after completing the game the first time. After completing the game the 2nd time I reached lvl 65 when I completed the elder lair. I'm currently just gene farming before I decide on what team I should create. I'm just basically having fun playing this game.
I haven't beat the Lair yet, I'm stuck on the Gravios, but once I get a water monster and level up enough, this will help I'm currently lvl 57 because I got stuck on Nerg and got discouraged and stopped playing for a week
This may sound counter intuitive but bring Kyle for Gravios and the one after but switch to Reverto for the last 2(it's 2 in one fight) you should craft the Plesioth Breaker and a Piercing Water weapon of your choice(seltas Bow or Mizu Gunlance)

@@Lakita2880 You can actually use Deadly Horn Jab on Rajang, as he's not immune to OHKOs, however it's still faster to run a marathon around Zone 6 because Deadly Horn Jab is inconsistent. Sometimes you might get lucky and it'll kill Rajang in the first few hits, others you could be using it 5-10 times and it never kills him.
I only just bout the game last week. So I'm still making it thru the story. At LVL 30 currently in the place with the pink tree's and finding the exp grind hard for finishing up the story. In the 50s in levels, haven't done the elder lair as I'm more focused on getting deviants and elder dragons from multiplayer dens. Latest Deviant i got is a Bloodbath I named Styx as in *The River of Styx*.
I was doing this greater elders lair stage 6 for a while, im Lvl 95 now, and only use this method to quick level up Monsties for there stronger moves that are level locked to power up my main monsties using the roc. I could go to level 99 but i wanna reach it eventually without farming

I am level 78 right now and was 73 when I beat the SEL final boss and I was using Kyle because my favorite buddy is kyle I know it’s controversial and I still had trouble on the final boss of the SEL so you being able to beat the SEL final boss in the late levels 50s is incredible hollow well done by the way I want to brag about this on the rajang on special elders lair I prepared alot for it I first got velkhana hunting horn because of ice element and it’s songs next I got avinia* because again ice and when the rajang was angry I used evasion riff that was on the hunting until I killed it sorry that got off track I just wanted to tell people and hopefully if you are having trouble on the rajang maybe you could use my tactic too

I literally just hit 72 as I was watching this video. I'm stuck on normal elder's lair floor 7 cause I guess I'm just derping out on getting the right R/P/S combination on these monsters. So my leveling slowed down while I refresh zones a billion times trying to find Super Rare dens. I'm only 6 monsties away from getting 100% on my pokedex.
Is it called “special Elder’s lair” because there’s 2 different elder lairs and you have to unlock the special one? Or is this another situation with Josh misnaming the Super Rare dens as “ultra rare”?
Yes and no.. after beating the Elders lair, you get access to antoher elders lair.. but its the same one like befor.. even with the same quests and challenges.. just a few levels higher..
Currently at lvl 87 and trying to finish the last quest (which relies on really dumb rng) 100% monsterpedia. But yeah I wish there was a way to change the world to high rank instead of everything staying at a low rank. Just give us an option to change it once we beat the story!
Here is a solution to the problem of it making things easier, just have two teams, your fun team that’s a good level where it’s not overpowered and then your try hard team that’s level 99. Boom solved

98 did a lot of farming there for silly monsties and leveled up a lot
My rider and monsties I use are lvl 99, but working on others that will need leveling.

I’m level 62 about to beat the first Elder’s Lair
My current character level is 60 will this still work with my current level
I started playing about 8 days ago, and im currently level 75
I'm level 74, and it won't let me quick finish in SZ1. Has something changed recently?
Did you switch your monsties out? All of mine are 60 and I’m able to quick finish zone 1&2
Made it to 70th yesterday! ^_^
I got to about level 71 and it’s already a few hundred thousand xp to level
Im only level 64, this should help alot once I break 70 thanks guys.
That crab only gives round about 7k exp... Nothing more...
I am at lv 91 right now but this sorta happened by accident
I play this game way to much xD
At lvl 70, I finally finished kulve quest within 20 minutes, it is full of fun.
At lvl 99, the game has no challenge and is so boring.
Im at 79 but that quick finish grind is too boring for me ......so I guess I stay on that level
I'm currently at level 55 for all my monsties
We need the levels for regular elders lair. So we can work to that

Here is a solution to the problem of it making things easier, just have two teams, your fun team that’s a good level where it’s not overpowered and then your try hard team that’s level 99. Boom solved
I'm currently level 65, haven't really cared too much about leveling lol
I was around level 52 or 53 last I checked.
Me and my monsties are in the high level 50s
