Welcome back to a new episode of BackYardBoyz!!! In this episode we take delivery of our New Build! We got another VW Golf R!!! Looks like its stage 2+ hardware full APR, that orange dipstick is broken and needs replacing with a later revision yellow dipstick, that seal will drop in to the sump and block your pick up pipe 👍
HPFP is stage 2+ on these engines good luck!

Since there's a mid pipe with an APR high flow cat and rear muffler, for sure its a Turboback complete setup
As for the HPFP and IC, they are mandatory for Stage 2+ and above ( Also check for upgraded fuel injectors)
Headlights ( inner black trim) is Euro oem as well as the taillights 👍
Any APR dealer can provide you what the tune is and all the info you need.
That black switch down the armrest may be linked to a Water-Meth injection system.
Other common upgrades on these engines are Lightweight crank Pulley, Charge & discharge pipes! Check if available

The tail light is not a North American tail light, its actually a Euro OEM tail light for a MK6 R.
Finally a MK6 R on the channel. I have a 2011 MK6 GTI DSG and this will be an interesting build for me. And yes the MK6 R comes in DSG as well.
It comes as a 6MT only in the US
@@quickliqproductions In EU it can come in manual but it's mostly DSG automatic.

@@savagearma I also prefer rowing my own gears. I've driven several mk6 gti with manual (stock, stage 1 265 abt and a mk6 gti with 350bhp that thing was maad). I also want to experience a manual golf r to see if I can launch it correctly, the only vag manual car I drove with 4-motion was a Seat Leon cupra 4 which is actually a spanish interpetation of the mk4 golf "vr6" (I'm from the Netherlands so I don't know if they sell Seat outside of europe) and that was one of most engaging cars from vag to drive imo.

This will be a lovely motor when finished. Its definitely a minimum of Stage 2+. As others have mentioned, the standard HPFP is not up to the job after Stage 1. I had the same car, with the same mods. Should be around 380hp at 2+. Mine was a DSG (UK based) and was a seriously quick car, pity you only got the manual. The MK6 R was the best looking by far and the rising blue was iconic to that model (mine was grey) They tend to be a bit niggly at that power though, so think about checking the diverter valve, easy fix and sat right at the front of the engine on these and also the cam follower, especially with the APR pump (the reason why its ticking, completely normal) sits behind it. They're about £40 in the UK. The Audi engine cover is due the VWR CAI kit. The standard cover doesn't fit on afterwards unless its cut and modified. I suspect you'll have a new clutch too. A standard one struggles at stage 1 on the EA113. Mine went on my previous Mk5 GTI at stage 1. The Mk5 GTI has the same engine without the reinforced block, uprated pistons and conrods and a new cylinder head. VW picked the earlier gen engine because of its tuneability. Mine had the black headlights too, much better than the silver. I believe they came with the 19" Talladega alloy upgrades and the protruding fins from the front mud guards. I'm not sure about the US spec, but the rear lights are standard on the UK version. The Pirellis are probably the reason its in the condition it is. Theyre awful, Michelin PS4S are a must with that power. I know a fair bit about the 6R if you need any info. I've just subbed and will be following the rebuild, based on this car alone. I have an RS3 now and still miss my 6R everyday. BEST car I've ever owned. Rare, underrated and they look the bollocks.

You can open the sunroof more if you twist it. not alot og people know this. it goes fully back or tilts backwards

US Spec Golf 6R comes only in MT. The previous owner bought the rear Euro Tails as well, they usually come LED but not Cherry Red (Smoked). The previous Headlight in the Copart pics as from the Telagada Pack whic comes black from the inside. Amazing project, I started following you after you got the 7R.

Why did the golf 7 don’t get the led taillights at all but the golf 6 came with led?
@@anonymipod2404 Yes you are right, the 7R has the exact same taillights as the standard Golf 7.. this the US market, always filled with surprises we don't seem to grasp, they should add it as an option.. note the radio in this 6R has been changed, this is the RSN510 and not the RSN315(correct me if im wrong) that comes from factory.
The radio and a the climatronic unit has been replaced too

I doubt it’s e85, it’s stage 2 for sure and if you’re lucky stage 2+. The way you can tell if it’s stage 2+ is it if has 25psi of boost when flooring the car

Stage 2+ is HPFP upgrade! Due to the standard unit not being able to keep up

That knob by the armrest looks like a volume/bass adjuster for a subwoofer and amp setup. I bet you’ll find a subwoofer underneath that pile of stuff in the hatch, next to the spare tire. Great find!

With the headlights you can get bracket repair kits on ebay, you cut the old one off and screw the new one into the holes already in the headlight

I have a milltek catted downpipe paired with a non res milltek catback and still don’t like how it sounds😖
I have an milltek non res and decat downpipe and they sound amazing even the dsg farts sound sick. (Mk6 R)
You can put leather conditioner on them seats Tim they will look brand new once done properly
Them black insert headlights are a factory spec, they move up and down aswell as around corners, they come with the 19" wheel option from factory, if you spec 18" wheels you get the standard ones the point up and down, with the silver insert
When going through the serving, check the oil pick up from the oil pump to make sure it's not clocked, failed oil pump can cost big bucks.
Also replace the cam follower inside the hpfp, they usually need to be changed every 5000km on a 2+ car.
Since its 6MT ideally should have an upgraded clutch, also those are not stock rotors for this platform.

@@josephlawrie206 Being a 2+ Car the HPFP Rail Values are much higher than of stock (135bar up vs 110bar stock pump) This causes the coating on the Cam Follower to be eaten through at a much greater rate, its a very thin piece and once it cracks it can take your cam lobe, vvt gear, and many other things with it. So no I do not mean 50k, every 5k km the cam follower MUST be replaced on a 2+ car and high quality oils should always be used on this platform. I talk from experience
The tail lights are euro spec tail lights, the US models don’t come with those lights, the previous owner definitely installed them. With it having an APR HPFP, chances are it is stage 2+ tuned. If it has a big turbo then it’s likely stage 3 tuned. Most likely it’s APR tuned as well. You can call APR to check the software that it has, they should check it from the VIN Number.
Why buy another front bumper ? It's not too difficult to patch the two holes .... ans a LOT cheaper ...
Rising Blue is the best color for a Mk6 R. As a mk6 owner myself I am very excited for this build.

That dial on the center console is likely for the stereo. I use one similar to adjust bass.
The knob by the arm rest is probably for an amp and stereo. That’s where I put mine to adjust bass input before I went full race car and took it out. The rest of the car looks like full stage 2 APR. Good luck with the build.
I'm from south africa. This car is basically a golf 7 r in different clothing with more features. Same haldex 4 wheel drive system. The pipes are legit, theres two in th middle even from stock also comes in manual or dsg

This car has a shit ton of money poured into it for sure. That APR Stage 2+ package is not cheap on this car and it should be pushing around 350whp+. From the looks of it, it's FBO. That intercooler core is huge and that intake is VWR. The company is not directly affiliated to VW but the company is founded by somebody that once worked for VW.
Yes.. this one is good & the damage is not that bad! There's a few things you got to change like the dipstick etc!

The color is Rising Blue Metallic. I agree. Sick color. A bit lighter than the Lapiz Blue. With the HPFP this car was Stage 2+. Pushing out a ton of torque!! Love the center dual exhaust design. Prefer that over the quad tips on the newer gen.

Hey Tim, good choise :D The Audi cover is needed because the air intake. The OEM cover is included the airfilter for the engine. If you use a aftermarket Airbox (better airflow), you need to remove the OEM cover. The EA113 enginge has a lot of troubles with the HPP (highpressurepump). In germany usually the first HPP can hold just 30-35k... If the Golf has a Stage 1 or higher for this mileage he has definetly a upgrade clutch. The oem clutch for MT can't resist the torque. With this setup is 360-380hp possible if the OEM Turbo is inside hehe... Take a look maybe it's not the K04-064... maybe the TTE420 or the highest stage of APR the GTX28 or GTX30... but with GTX the enginge has to be upgraded inside... Best regards from germany keep going Bro . If you need help feel free to contact me. The ac control modul is not of an MK6 thats from Beetle/Passat Mk7an the cover is from Beetle Mk7. Rims are BBS CH-R. And H&R semms to be the basic version but good quality. I have the deep version in my MK6 GTI. I think the old owner was an insider and VW lover because the whole spec is typically for it. And dont forget to buy the intercooler again from APR. Thats not the OEM one :D

The previous owner drove with sandpaper gloves🙈 looks like it has more then 100.000miles on it... The front and tail lights are OEM, the R has the "blackline" lights from factory. This blue is awesome!💙It would make no sense if there is no tuned downpipe installed 😁 I hope the mileage is not faked

Factory tinted tail lights i have them on my golf 1.4 tsi they came with sky trim unfortunally this colour came only for golf r otherwise i would get it is so nice

Email APR with your VIN and they will tell you what software and tune options are on the vehicle. They will also transfer the software to you for a fee. APR doesn’t offer any tunes over stage 1 anymore so you may want to look elsewhere for software if you want to push it further.

the all black headlights are stock to the golf r, the ones with chrome in them are for the gti's
try turning the ac on and then rev it again. or try turning on cruise controll and then rev it. popular mod for pops and bangs gets programmed on this

@@BackYardBoyz you´re welcome. engine looks stock except the intake & fuil pump. check the turbo, it has a stock k04 from factory. maybe they went further with the tuning than stage 2 and made a turbo upgrade. the rear lights are darker on the golf 6 R from the factory. so they are also original.
oh and please make sure the previous owner changed the cat, because you´ll wreck your turbo quite fast with the stock one.

Not a bad price. In Ireland you can get a mint 2012 golf r for between £10000 to £13000. So around $12000 to $16000

Just in case you didn’t know Vw own Audi seat Skoda Porsche and Lamborghini so basically vw make all of those cars so you will find a lot of Audi logos on the parts on most golfs 😂

Rear lights are slightly smoked standard
commonly it's the n80 valve (EVAP purge regulator) that does the ticking but I noticed the ticking sound increased with the rpm of the engine which it shouldn't be. it might be worth checking and I might be wrong too...

Cool to get mods with it Golf R are not bad cars but it would seem someone needed to learn how to respect the mod gods with this one not bad though seen way worse
