My two cents... animals are innocent, just like children. I’m a cradle Catholic, had fallen away when my daughter passed away and went through a saga of back surgeries. I tell you this because, besides my husband being by my side, my dog and my cat were my fur angels on earth. They got me through the two worst tragedies in my life and my dog kept me from ending my life. I could go on and on about how my animals are important to me, but I know in my heart of hearts that Our Good Lord in Heaven wouldn’t let such beautiful souls that have fur, touch a humans soul and not let them enter Heaven themselves. And yes, I came back home to church. ❤️
I have blessed all my cats (3 of them) with Holy water to keep them safe outside ( which they only started doing during the lockdown) But their outside ventures ended two days ago when one brought home a resident chipmunk. I was devastated. I was so upset when I saw her lifeless on the patio with one of my cats looming over her. I thought she was dead but when I picked her up her little heart was beating so fast. She took some really big breaths and each time I thought it was her last. I cried my eyes out, because it was obvious she was a nursing mama. I prayed for a miracle, I even sprinkled her too with Holy Water, ( I know I'm weird), but I just couldn't give up on her. Miraculously, after 30 minutes of being wrapped in a warm blankie and hand-held she perked right up. I took her to a nearby wildlife rehabilitator, and she gave her some antibiotics on a walnut. By then this little mama was perky and fighting to get out. I released her and she went straight to her nest, I know she had hungry babies waiting for her. As much as I love cats, they really take a toll on wildlife, so my furbabies are back to indoor life. For their safety and the little creatures in my backyard. No creature is unworthy of God's miraculous healing!
My little Maltese, Madison died and one evening I was praying while sitting on the side of my bed. All of a sudden I saw Madison standing up on the bed just like she used to do so that I would place her on my bed. She had long hair typical of Maltese but I used to keep her hair short. Her coat was also spotless. She kept looking at me as she stood there. I was absolutely shocked to see her and grateful feeling she had come back to let me know she was doing very well and was being taken care of.
We buried our precious Casper in our backyard wrapped in a bright blue cloth. As we put the last shovelful of dirt on his grave the bells of the local church pealed out the Ave Maria.💕💙🙏🏻
@@VeronicasVeil333 When we die and go to Heaven. We will be WELCOMED with the Lord Jesus Christ ✝️, Mama Mary. And ALL our beloved pets will welcome us.
I saw an interview with the man who wrote 60 mins in Heaven ( can't remember exactly name). He died and went to Heaven and came back. The interviewer ask him what suprised you the most? His reply " When they opened the Pearly Gates, every animal I ever owned was waiting for me"! Don't let anyone tell you differently. Animals have souls, but no original sin, they will be in heaven!
@Cathylovesthes thank you but it isn't me you're disagreeing with. The church teaches what we stated here. Houses are blessed, do they have souls? God bless
I TOTALLY AGREE my dog Oso was a gift from GOD, he changed my life and strengthened my spirituality..I often looked at him as a guardian angel and we often prayed together which he seemed to like and look forward to
I know many children who have seen their pets in Heaven and many other animals. A 3 year old doesn't lie over such a thing... and I know they were having Godly experiences...
God has plans for animals, I believe his plan was to take all animals to heaven, animals are second most important and they are as close to god as a Christian is.
I KNOW my dog is in heaven! How? Well, he was my best friend and companion for 13 years and really all I had as my children had graduated and moved to other cities for employment. It was over a year and day did not pass that I cried nor did I want to go home after work as he was not there. I prayed for the sorrow and depression to lift but to no avail. I resigned myself to spend the remainder of days in sorrow but told Our Lord that the joy of knowing and loving him was worth it! Then one day as I went to my usual daily Mass, I received Communion and between the moment I received and before i got back to my pew, I found myself in a field and Humphrey (my dog) and Our Lord were coming towards me. Humphrey was so young, so beautiful and so full of vitality, jumping up to Our Lord and running around. No words were spoken, but I heard with heart Our Lord offer to give him back to me if I wanted, "Oh no!" I said, he was so filled with love and joy I owuld never make him come back to earth for me! Our Lord them let me know he would be waiting for me. But I asked Our Lord if he would still remember me if I were to live a lot longer to which Our Lord replied, "Remember when you used to go to the grocery store and tell him you would be right back? That is what it is like. You will be gone but a moment to him." I had been sitting in the fourth pew from the front and yet all this took place in the seconds it took me to get back to my pew! I cried with joy and have never had a sorrowful day without him since! I also have ne fear of death and look forward to my final journey!
I cry with joy for you! 🙏🕊☦️ And I believe that my many pets who’ve gone back to God are waiting for me also! I have to pray & be more if who He wants me to be to not disappoint my beloved pets who wait for me! Of course most important is to not disappoint my Lord & Christ & The Holy Spirit who wait for me More!
I know I have no choice but this is another beautiful story that makes me so excited to know what is going on on the other side. I can hardly wait. Gods blessings to all of you!
I hope animals are in heaven, not only because i want to be there with them. But primarily because i just think God loves His creatures so much enough for them to be there too! Any pet owner catches a glimpse of the Father's love for all of His creatures ❤️ Great video, father!
Animals were the first to drown in the Great Deluge, Keith. They drowned by the billions. What is the takeaway lesson from that fact, in your view? ✴ _21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark._ (Genesis 7: 21-23; KJV)
Come on, Keith. Don't be bashful. Share your wisdom with us. Yes, God saved some animals on the ark but he drowned all the rest. What can we learn from that as it relates to pets?
@@keithunderwood8244 *"...we all die."* Indeed we do, Keith. Indeed we do. ✴ _…a living dog is better than a dead lion. For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing,_ (Ecclesiastes 9: 4-5; NKJV)
@@IsaacNussbaum That we all do have a SOUL & SPIRIT. God blessed us to accept him along with his GRACE & HOLY SPIRIT. Which means we will never die knowing him. We will be transfered to a new GLORIFIED body and all that have gone before us including our pets! We will see them ALL once again. I am pleased to tell you that many of my family members were saved and accepted Jesus Christ in their hearts. My grandparents spend most of their time on hands and knees, praying for me. My earthly father had a painting of his four children holding hands in PRAYER, Beside us. It was a LION laying next to the LAMB. Dad is in heaven now. He too, adored ANIMALS.
I feel like there will be animals in heaven because I have had dreams of my two dogs Copper and Max after falling asleep the night of their passing, they were all happy wagging their tails, they were no longer in pain, and were being silly like they had always been I would always take those dreams as a sign and a gift from our Lord letting me know that they’re doing more than ok🙏🏻☦️✝️
It was once told to me that God gave us pets to bring happiness and joy on earth. Why then would He not allow them to bring us happiness and joy in Heaven? I might add, being a dog person; They do not care if you're rich or poor, young or old and always stand by your side . They always know when you had a bad day or when you are sick and always forgive us when we get angry at them. Notice too how dogs assist us here on earth. They help the blind see and the deaf hear. Even now they can sniff out cancer and other ailments. All they want is our unconditional love. Spell dog backwards!
It definitely won't be heaven for me without my pets!! God the Father loves us and knows our needs. Why wouldn't all of God's beautiful creatures be there? I believe that they will.
I visualize my beautiful dog waiting for me at heaven’s gate. I was told pets are gifts from heaven. I truly believe that. I will see all my beloved pets and love on all the other animals of God’s creation. Thank you Heavenly Father God Almighty for giving us such beautiful pets to love and be loved.
Many life after death episodes, especially among children, state that they see their pets. I have even read one case where a nun saw her pet cat and the first thing she thought was, "The church told me I wouldn't see my pet, yet here he is". If there are trees and flowers in heaven, which are living, surely there are animals... "As on earth as it is in Heaven". Ecclesiastes 3: 14-15- “I have learned that all the works which God hath made, continue forever: we cannot add anything, nor take away from those things which God hath made that he may be feared. That which hath been made, the same continueth: the things that shall be, have already been: and God restoreth that which is past.”
Our dog acts like my husbands guardian angel. He alerts me when he’s ill or fallen down. We are both seniors and have had many dogs we’ve loved, but Charlie is the only one who’s acted like this! Can’t help thinking that this rescue dog was in Gods plan.
I just pray that God will let me see my kitties happy and playing joyfully in their afterlife - not that they have to be with me all the time, I'll be busy praising God. Just let me see their joy and maybe they'll give me a smile or and ankle rub once in a while between playing in the flower fields with their buddies.
@@janetabraham9162 Yes! Janet. You're right!. The Lord wouldn't give us these beautiful souls to Love us and Protect us...only to separate us at death. A little boy that had a life and death experience and went to heaven, saw Jesus and came back, said there are lots of animals in heaven. The name of the movie is called, "Heaven is For Real."
They have to be there, they are God's creature's! If something is living and breathing I believe God will take them back. I have so many waiting for me. I still love and think of each one.
It's worth of note that St. Francis of Paola not only believed in animal afterlife, but also there are stories of him raising animals from the dead. He named each of his animals and used their names even after they died.
I like the theory that if we need an animals in Heaven to be happy, God will grant them to us. We may not need them to be happy, but I think my happiness would be more complete if the pets I loved here on Earth were there in Heaven to be part of my Heavenly family.
@@DivineMercy_Official While Saint Thomas Aquinas is an Angelic Doctor of the Church. NOT everything he wrote is Infallible, I am 💯% sure that Animals are in Heaven because they have NO Sin Nature. And the Catholic Church has a Patron Saint of Animals Saint Francis of Assisi.

I'm glad I finally found someone who is trying to be kind about this issue. So many people are flat out cruel when it comes to this. However, I do think there is a misunderstand when people say "I want my pet in Heaven." I know that I will be happy in Heaven with or without my pet (though with would be lovely). I don't want my pet to be in Heaven because I think that I need them, but because I have empathy for animals. It's similar to why I want my grandmother to be in Heaven. Not to make myself happy, but because I love her and want her to be be happy. God is love and desires to redeem all of creation. He loves my pets more than I ever could, and I just don't see Him letting them cease to exist after death. I have hope that the animals who have been abused and neglected in this life will find healing and restoration with Jesus. Also, about the Aquinas stuff, he believed a lot of strange things. Not his fault, just the culture he was born into. He seems to take a utilitarian approach to many things, animals and women included. He did really love Christ though and I usually agree with the points he makes. Still, he is a man and can make mistakes. To anyone doubting God's goodness or His love for your pets, please read this verse “And I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down in safety.” Hosea 2:8 Praying for any of you who have lost a pet. May God restore all creation.
I believe Lola will be in heaven and she will happy there. She's been here for 23 years as a cat. I will miss the day after Wednesday when she passes away

My first pet and beloved cat passed the day that you posted this video Father Chris, more than a year ago. I came across the video on my recommended feed while she was on my lap the last hours of her life.. It was a sure signal grace I'll never forget. Our Lord loves all his creatures :)
God bless you, my dog passed away midnight last night, and I was with him, he was on my lap 5 hours before, for a while, then he went to bed, then got up, within minutes he was dead, and I sat with him from midnight to 7 am, with a candle. The nurse said he looked so peaceful. Your cat was so lucky to have you, she didn't die alone or unwanted. I want my pets to wait at the gates of heaven for me, otherwise I wouldn't want to go in.
Oh father Chris I'm hurting so bad over the loss of my beautiful cat of 17 years. We adored hee so much as she brought us comfort after we found out we couldn't get pregnant. Please pray for me Father, she died in my arms...
Animals have a one way ticket to heaven - God Programs them. They will not be judged for how they behaved. Humans will be judged as they have the faculties to hurt others. Pets take on a piece of the spirit of the human they serve .. they become part of our family. The longer they live with us the more like us in spirit they become . It’s common sense . When my cat passed away I saw a dream where she was floating in air over the lap of a huge monk who was wearing a brown rope -- couldn’t see the monk’s face.. but my cat was being licked clean by other “heavenly cats as she floated in the air. This was God’s way of telling me my beloved Daisy is with him. Amen
I'm so sorry. My dog just died maybe a couple of hours ago. I'm broken hearted. I'm here trying to find comfort. I will remember you and please pray for me.
Thanks so much Fr. Chris!!! We truly won't know until we die & get to the Heavenly Kindgdom. Even 'smart' theologians don't know. I do hope that there will be animals in Heaven. I'm an animal lover to the max. You did such a nice job with your presentation!! Lovin your dear Rocky as well !
It'd be a pretty dull and sad place if they're not there, I'd not want to be there then. A Heaven without animals, what kind of dull superstitious place that'd be it'd be like Hell to me. Since the is no death it's just a word after all, I see no reason why animals wouldn't be in the afterlife.
I was told pets are gifts from heaven. I strongly believe that because my pets loved me unconditionally and were always by my side when I was having a rough day. They would bring joy in my life. I miss them soooo much. Soon, I will see them again. The Bible does mention animals in heaven. What beauty heaven holds…. I can’t even imagine.
I’m sure being in the presence of the Lord , we would have EVERYTHING we needed, BUT I can’t imagine not seeing or being with these beautiful creatures that love us unconditionally ❤️ and I would NOT be surprised if God has at least a few hundred running around the kingdom of heaven, as they are so loving 🥰 ❤️
Oh, thank you for this, Fr. Chris!! You are so reasonable, so compassionate. Thank you for taking on a rather difficult, and definitely emotional subject! The way I approach this is to cling fast to Jesus--He knows how I have loved my pets. No facile answer is ok. But He will sort it all out perfectly. That is not perhaps good reasoning or serious Church clarity but it is real turning to, trusting Him.
We got our furbaby by a strange twist of issues, almost didn't get him. We've had him for 9 years and I've always referred to him as an angel and I've thanked our Lord nearly every single day for him. He's been such a companion thru rough times, so sweet I do believe he was sent from above.
I have and have had some beautiful pets in my life at times I wonder if I'll ever see them in heaven I hope I do I really pray do they're my family i love them

@@jh0347 Thank you for the clarification, J. H. That is what many preachers tell us, yes, but it is not true for two reasons. First, the word ("ruach") which is translated "spirit" in verse 21 is translated "breath" in verse 19. It is the same word. Second, verse 21 says that no one knows if the breath of animals goes one way and the breath of humans goes the other way. That is very true, isn't it? I can only hope that my most beloved pets will be there waiting for me. Pets are my life, literally they are how I make a living, so I can't imagine a Heaven without dog and cats.
My input is that on earth we are in the constant state of desire. In heaven we will be totally satisfied, (complete) in the presence of God. If animals are in heaven, we will not have the same relationship as we have with them on earth. Because on earth animals fulfill the desire we have to be loved and to love. In heaven we will be totally loved and we will love totally. Thank you, Lord.

@@holdfast7182 because only humans have a rational soul, so only humans decide what to do, right or wrong, and when we do wrong most of us feel guilt, and dogs don't self reflect or feel guilt. Guilt is the prerequisite to feel love, because without guilt we would not care about another outside of ourselves, aka, love
God is dog spelled backwards. Our dog’s love for us is unconditional, very much like God’s love for us. They don’t care if we’re rich, poor, homeless or ugly etc. Our Lady is often associated with butterflies, birds and flowers. If flowers are in heaven, then why not animals? God loves all his creation and dogs aren’t called Man’s best friend for nothing. When the dogs of 9/11 became very depressed, despite being given anti-depressants, they eventually discovered that the digs were depressed because they were only finding the bodies of the dead, so they came up with the idea to plant living people in the rubble for the dogs to find. The dogs were then happy again. Dogs have saved so many lives. Even given their lives to save ours. What a great gift our dogs and animals are. Heaven wouldn’t be as heavenly to me, without animals in nature. They’re just as beautiful as the meadows with flowers,, or the streams, or the mountains, or the oceans.
Absolutely! There is no purer or unconditional love better than an animal. Our pets. Our friends. If my fur babies aren't there, what is the point? I miss my animals that I have lost through this life. A couple even got me through some horrible things in my life. But they were right there and knew my every feeling. Our love must not be divided between God and our pets. Otherwise, they become like an idol - in heaven we behold the Beatific Vision...God as God, God as Love, The Trinity as Mercy...the One, beginning, middle and end. In heaven we won't need our pets because God is our only happiness there. Pets are good because God created them, and through them we can share and give God's love for His creations...it is good to care for the living things that God has created - but we must never forget that God comes first... 🥰🌹

Let's face it, we all want pets to be in heaven. And I think God is awesome enough to deliver.
As someone once said, "I'm sorry, but Heaven isn't Heaven if my best friend isn't there."
Amen 🙏☦️🕊
Such a beautiful story, I teared up thinking about my own beloved pet waiting for me. God bless you.
@@maryanne8395 Tank you, May Anne! Yes, he or she is there and it won't be but a moment until you return to them again!

And I believe that my many pets who’ve gone back to God are waiting for me also! I have to pray & be more if who He wants me to be to not disappoint my beloved pets who wait for me!

I think dogs are a physical representation of the unconditional love God has for us and I don't think He would not allow them in heaven
I hope animals are in heaven, not only because i want to be there with them. But primarily because i just think God loves His creatures so much enough for them to be there too! Any pet owner catches a glimpse of the Father's love for all of His creatures ❤️ Great video, father!
Animals were the first on Noah's Ark. So yes! God made and loves our PETS!
@@IsaacNussbaum What we can learn? Is that we all die. I don't kill anything. I rescue. I won't even kill a spider.
Amen. When I look at a dog I see nothing but a complete pure soul. Unlike some human beings
I “know” my dogs are “angels” with paws and a very special blessing for me!!!!!
Thank you, Father! I see it as a (soothing) complete answer and I appreciate that you have given focus to the Catechism and the Law of the Church!

Pets are pure love, how could they not be in Heaven??
They will be. God’s infinite Love can do no less
It definitely won't be heaven for me without my pets!! God the Father loves us and knows our needs. Why wouldn't all of God's beautiful creatures be there? I believe that they will.
Yes, one of the rewards of God is to make us happy in heaven, and God knows what is in our hearts
It's not a questio of "needing". It's a question of a Loving Father seeing his children enjoy His loving gifts.
Father, thank you for explaining this. I think that through God, anything is possible.
Charlie sounds beautiful....amazing creatures. My cats follow me everywhere and sit by my side the whole time when I’m unwell. X
I just pray that God will let me see my kitties happy and playing joyfully in their afterlife - not that they have to be with me all the time, I'll be busy praising God. Just let me see their joy and maybe they'll give me a smile or and ankle rub once in a while between playing in the flower fields with their buddies.
I love this! What a beautiful comment! Thank you ❤

The is no pleasure that can equal being in the presence of God.
Jesus is coming back on a white horse. And I do believe that my animals that I have loved here on earth. Is there waiting to greet me.
Yes thank you but according to St. Thomas Aquinas that horse that Christ is riding would not have ever been a horse here on earth. God bless

To anyone doubting God's goodness or His love for your pets, please read this verse
“And I will make for them a covenant on that day with the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the creeping things of the ground. And I will abolish the bow, the sword, and war from the land, and I will make you lie down in safety.” Hosea 2:8
Praying for any of you who have lost a pet. May God restore all creation.

God bless you, my dog passed away midnight last night, and I was with him, he was on my lap 5 hours before, for a while, then he went to bed, then got up, within minutes he was dead, and I sat with him from midnight to 7 am, with a candle. Amen

Animals are so innocent. I truly believe they are here as little angels for us. They are so beautiful. God, I do not believe, would extinguish them.

Oh, thank you for this, Fr. Chris!! You are so reasonable, so compassionate. Thank you for taking on a rather difficult, and definitely emotional subject! All love is within God, and if the animals are capable of love, then they therefore have souls as the presence of God is within them.
Catholic Church teaching is that all living things do have souls. But only the human has a rational Immortal Soul which is called a spirit. God bless
@@DivineMercy_Official Yes, this is correct. And every knee shall bow and say Jesus is Christ, so animals (having knees) are saved.
animals are not capable of love.
@@warondogs8199 How do you know this?
Don't even try to tell me my " family" won't be there. If not, I don't want to go.
Bmud is dumb spelled backward. And has about as much relevance to the title question as _"God is dog spelled backwards."_
so profound !
@@juanitaj5248 Juanita, the Bible, in clear, straight-forward, unambiguous language, says that animals do not go to heaven. Flowery flights of fantasy can't change that, no matter how "profound." We are never, ever, going to see our pets again. Full stop. End of story.
I actually pray for this and talk to Jesus about the possibility. How could we be denied this simple wish?
Our love must not be divided between God and our pets. Otherwise, they become like an idol - in heaven we behold the Beatific Vision...God as God, God as Love, The Trinity as Mercy...the One, beginning, middle and end. In heaven we won't need our pets because God is our only happiness there. Pets are good because God created them, and through them we can share and give God's love for His creations...it is good to care for the living things that God has created - but we must never forget that God comes first...
🥰🌹
@@Eowyn3Pride it is not "dividing" our love. One the contrary. I love God even MORE when I marvel at the beautiful animals He created for our companionship.
@@Eowyn3Pride exactly
heaven would be a boring place without animals and plants and trees. God made all creation and all he made is beautiful. God made Eden and Eden had animals and plants. So of coarse they are part of heaven. God is a creator and he did not stop at man alone. Everything is connected and that includes all of creation
The fact that the Holy Spirit appeared as a dove should tell us everything we need to know.
The Holy Spirit is not pet. And no, It did not tell us everything we need to know. You assumed too much.
@@bombaway2029 Everything we need to know about the divine's relationship to animals, not in general...
That bit about the two Rockies was funny, Father. I had to give up my cat Ollie. He's the sweetest fellow. I do believe he was sent to be with me during the pandemic. He was the only creature around that I could talk to. He even learnt to answer me. He always knew when I was sad. Such a good boy.
Yes, I completely understand
Thank you for that comforting thought!
My belief of Heaven includes animals.
Father we had a German shepherd for almost 16 years when I pray I see her next to my mother at the beginning I thought I was going crazy I told my wife she started to cry because she also saw her next to my mom. Thank you father and God bless you always
