The car is old enough that It was most likely done by the previous owner. If it was my car I would just send a oil sample to get tested for excessive bearing wear
joey gonzalez or the previous owner was unloading it because it’s close to bearing replacement mileage. There’s a reason that there are so many e90/92 m3’s for sale with around 80,000 miles
@@benr4677 I see where you're coming from but do you think people are really that hesitant to have a 2k-5k service done on a car that was almost 80k msrp brand new? I'm not a e90/e92 expert but most of them seem to be well taken care of by their owners. Either way if you're someone who is interested in buying a e90/e92 I would hope they get service records for the car and are financly ready to have the service done themselves
Best first mods to do and you did them all by yourself from home, props to you Vin. Gives hope to other car enthusiasts who tend to go to shops for installs that they can do it from home.

I'll be forever jealous, how you look under the cars over there and the floor, suspension, subframes, everything is mint and looks borderline new, while my UK '05 MX-5 is one shade of brown underneath.
you don't need bulk cash to have a couple projects. I've got 4 sitting out in the yard plus my truck for dragging them around and i know i don't make money like any of these guys. just gotta pick projects you can afford.
I have never seen that jack bolt breaking trick. I hope you take this the way I mean it... Vinny’s garage last place I expected to have my mind blown with so much innovation lol thanks dude I will use this for sure
Ya' know what, I don't even wanna give Vin shit for ANOTHER beamer. It's such a clean car and it sounds absolutely killer. I'm usually a muscle-car-only person but I'm feeling the call of a BMW. Fantastic acquisition Vin.
Vin never dissapoints with his taste in cars!! For me he is got the best fleet of cars above all hoonigans squad plus all these baeuties are super clean!!!
Some of the Hoonigan folks need to understand that the struggle to do stuff is what makes these videos worth watching because we can identify with your difficulties and you are imparting lessons learned to the viewers. I get that it's a big hassle to stop and film stuff, which is why a tripod is your friend. Vin is bad about this but he's not the only one. YES, IT'S BETTER THAN NOTHING, but I am a big fan of whole-assing things.
I feel that but also there is an added level of difficultly that comes with shooting it yourself and hardware issues. We had a bunch of corrupt footage in this because i didn't catch a camera issue. I guess thats why we pay people to work the cameras, ha!
@@vin_tra I get it, really. We see you guys on camera all the time but it's usually the camera guys shooting it. We're in un-trodden territory for some of you guys working on your own with cameras. Litterally my all time favorite car, and i love that someone agrees with me on the specs. NO sunroof, NO outdated navigation NO unnecessary dumb shit. Just car, pure raw car. :) Great video aswell, keep the m coming champ :D
My grandad made a nice tool to push in the brake pistons... Take the back plate to an old brake pad, drill and tap a whole in the centre, screw in a bolt. Cheap no thrills alternative 👌🏼
I can relate to the low option package cars. I bought an IS300, and could only get the Sport (instead of Sport Luxury) and was pretty bummed at the time. But I actually prefer the half suede half leather seats of the sport, instead of full leather. And like Vin mentioned, the satnav that came with the Luxury package is SUPER dated now. And I get an extra cupholder! :D
The x exhaust has to do with exhaust pulses not temp. It is most likely located half way between the original location and the cylinders, at the harmonic. Lastly, it's likely you would be sacrificing low end power for peak by moving it, so it's your preference on the curve.
Make sure you crack the bleeder when you push the caliper back. Idk if u did. But it's not the best to push the fluid all back through the system. If there's any gunk anywhere it can get in the ports in the master. More for service tho. I'm sure you flush ur brakes 😉
Yo Vin dog's actually dig holes like that to get to the deeper cooler dirt to lay in. I learned that from my Aunt who is a Vet. My dog used to do the same thing and I live in Arizona so he did it alot haha
This Home Wrenchers has me waiting for that notification ! Love the hard work and effort that goes into this. Thank you for the quality entertainment Hoonigan.🙏🏻
In one episode Vin did a full exhaust system, coilovers, brake pads, and seats... lets hope Scotto gets through one bolt during his home wrenchers episodes
Pro tip not all caliper pistons go in straight some manufacturer make the spiral in and out out of there bore so be careful using tools that just compress the piston you could brake stuff if it spirals in.
Christ, I bet his exhaust system cost more than the price of my truck, vin really be making that doe, brand new and clean ass cars and trucks, nice ass house. HOONIGAN, PUT ME THROUGH COLLEGE AND ILL COME WORK FOR YOU AFTER
A large channelock carefully squeezing on the old pad is all you need to push the pistons back into a brake caliper. Put a piece of cardboard on the caliper if you care about the finish.
Amazing how some changes can completely change a car's look. I'll have to do a shoot round my 330i Touring, got a similar spec with BBS CHR's, KW V3's and some other goodies :)
Winters up here in Alberta start to take their toll. One day I’ll have a summer car and a winter car! Can’t wait to see where you go with this beaut! I see them come in to the dealer sometimes and I love the spec you got. The nav/i-drive option really dates the earlier cars especially!

One for grip and one for skid, what's wrong with that? 😋

Thanks man. Thats been a hell of a (on-going) project and learning experience.
Yeah dude, that house is killer! It’s nearly like a house on the beach. Also car level is high after the Tacoma and e92. Mint colour on the Tacoma 👌
Just don't forget to do your rod bearing
