I remember watching the first daily transmissions every day on my lunch break - that was one of the best parts of my days. You genuinely had a big impact on my view on cars and I'm sure I'm talkin for a lot of other people as well. Again, all the best for you Vinny!

Hey Vin! I just wanted to take a second and thank you for the last 10 plus years and everything you have done at hoonigan. You, Dan, Hert and Scotto helped to grow car culture leaps and bounds and had an impact I’m not sure we will ever see again. Above all you’re just a genuinely good dude! @@vin_traYou're a good man Vin. Cheers for all the laughs and the knowledge passed on! Looking forward to seeing what you get up to after taking such a long break from watching Hoonigan.
The company was probably sold or took on new investors that want to go a different most likely even more corporate then it already is so the OGs will naturally all leave
@@bored2323if you just go look at the last handful of months of Hoonigan content it is all the very structured “this vs that” and similar content. The old content of having off the cuff and wild content won’t be done by a large corporation.
I think what really sparked peoples love for Hoonigan was the fact that it was basically a skateboard brand. I don’t think growth is a bad thing, it’s just a very different company than back in the days of daily transmission. Good luck on whatever comes next, I know I’ll be staying up to date on your socials

Truly a end of a era. Feels like we were along for the whole ride. Best of luck to future you. You , Hert & the crew started a huge wave in the car scene, you deserve the rest.
To be honest once Wheel Pros acquired Hoonigan i gave up on watching and buying merchandise. But we're still gonna support and show love to you and the guys (Hert, John Chase, Danger Dan) 🍻 Here's to the future and some GREAT memories! Give 'em hell🤘
That makes so fucking much sense, the owners of them is Audax who if you go through their assets... all corpo bullshit design firms, sales shit, medical etc.
Man DDE is such a passionate, small, exciting up and coming channel! Damon & Dave seem like phenomenal and talented guys, they could use more great people on board for the ride! Them getting the hoonigan building could also be sign!! 🌟 Greatest of luck in the pursuit of all your dreams & passions!
@@RumblesBettr well it’s about understanding the dynamic. DDE is about fun and doing crazy things “shenanigans” with amazing cars and the whole drama involved. Damon also shows his role as a father and a husband in a way that can be positive to other men. It’s also about friendship and teamwork. I don’t see anything wrong with that in the grand scheme of things. I learned how amazing a V12 sounds and they got me into understanding that caliber of vehicle for the first time. It’s a big world my friend and there are waaaaaayyy worse things on the earth other than DDE. 🌟

As someone who also struggles to find happiness and fulfillment in what they do for a living, this hit me right in the feels. It's amazing you are working hard at finding that. A lot of people (me included) dont realize, until it's too late, that's what they should have done from the beginning. Hoonigan has been a big chunk of all our lives and Ken's passing was a huge hit to every single one of us. As terrible as it sounds, I've felt less emotional about people I knew passing away. I wish you and the rest of the Hoonigan team the best of luck in finding the happiness that you deserve.

I never followed Hoonigan but loved to see Ken out there. Nice to see you rippin around the yard with DDE, Porsche is my favorite! Wish you well for the future, you seem like a cool dude.
One cool thing from my perspective is that when I discovered Hoonigan on UA-cam, it was actually right when you guys had just started. When I found you guys, it was like you had been on UA-cam the whole time and were like OG's of car content on UA-cam. It's hard to come to reality that you have to move on from a job that you once loved, but it also is very mature and better for yourself as a person.
You guys pushed car culture into the 2020s and gave the new generation a taste of the OG and bar none appreciation for anything with an engine. Hoonigans impact on car culture was rad and as you all branch out im excited to see you all keep that enthusiasm for motorsports alive for the new generation to learn and appreciate.
The content you all produced from those early donut garage days really was some of the best. It's felt quite bittersweet lately working for a company whos name changed and now work under the Hoonigan name, when you know it doesn't mean the same as it was before, but the way you put it in your 'Why I'm Leaving' part shows that it's not all bad news, things change and for some that works and others it doesn't. Good luck on future endeavours, if you want food spots in Japan, I know many! Thank you for all!
I have so much respect for this channel and when people decide to leave they actually address the fans/followers and let us know what’s up. That’s a true proper professional channel in my opinion. Respect. Best of luck in your future endeavors
Sad to see the og Hoonigan crew dissolve, but happy to see you move on to better things. Been the biggest Vin supporter since day one. Can’t wait to see what you put out man.
Along with the other OG Hoonigans, you have absolutely changed car culture for the better. I must have been watching for about 10 years and can honestly say that I wouldn't be half as crazy about cars if it wasnt for the quality content you were all pumping out. You should feel immense pride for what you have achieved. We only have control over our own paths in life, and it sounds like this is the right move for you. Look forward to seeing where things go - keep up the good work man!
Hoonigan is just a name, you guys are what made the company so awesome!! Look at what top gear did, the grand tour is just as good if not better so I have no doubt you’re on to bigger and better things!
Hoonigan is bigger than us individually for sure. I think we would have all loved to had made it work but times have changed and the value we bring to the overall business is not seen or quantifiable enough to justify.
R.i.p. to the real hoonigan crew. Ever since Ken passed. Hoonigan has really changed drastically. I hope everyone that has left has so much success. Looking forward to what comes next
I don't know you, have never even chatted with you, but you've always been the guy I seemed to like the best from the channel. You just seem like a cool regular guy and you definitely have that charisma. You'll be fine, I have faith that whatever you decide to do will work out. I'm here to follow along.

Sucks when you have a family and feel trapped in your life supporting them in a job you hate. Sometimes I just want to drive my car off a cliff. If I knew what made me happy, I’d do it in a minute. Glad you found your passion and glad you’re doing the thing that makes you happy. Good luck bro. Godspeed.
2023, the year Hoonigan died. Since Ken's passing it was clear everyone started taking a hard look at their own futures. Everything grows, everything changes, all things in life are temporary including life itself. Happy to see you branch out and take a leap. You'll do great, looking forward to seeing what comes next. You and Hert can be the next Swollen Members and take over the rap game!!! Everybody takes something when they leave a company, something that meant something to them, what did you take and why?
The Hoonigan brand was being sold before Ken passed. I think these guys were already burned out and then tragedy. Now a wheel company is hoonigan, and hoonigan is now a wheel company. Time waits for no one. This always had a best by date, be glad we witnessed it, not just spoke about how cool it would have been.
It kills me to see what seems to be such a rapid decline of what was a huge part of my 20s and early 30s. It feels like O.Gs are being forced to make the choice to leave. Thank you for the memories.
I think after Ken passed away, people have had a deep look at their lives, and just considered their future, what they want to do. No shame in that. People haven't been forced to leave, they've just chosen to move on to different things in life, and that's okay.
Got chills watching this. The old days were truly something special. The buyout is sad, hope you guys all continue to make stuff together...also random side note, your property is absolutely gorgeous.

I stumbled across you guys during 2020 while I spent 3 months in a children’s hospital holding my son begging for answers for his challenges. It was such a fun mix of car content. And the cohesiveness of you guys made it worth the watch. I spent hours with him in my lap so my wife could work, dreaming through hoonigans eyes, about fun car stuff. You guys provided an escape for that time period. And I can’t thank you enough. My son loves the sound of the engines and we’d love to be able to travel to events to hang out. For context, he’s one of five children known in the world with an unnamed genetic disorder. Again, blessings on all your journeys and maybe someday our paths with cross 🙏🏼

As I’ve aged I’ve come to accept that the only constant in life is change. Hoonigan has been a fun journey and you were a big part of it. Good luck in your future endeavors.
This video is everything we’ve missed about Hoonigan. We were there for Hoonigan because it seemed like a bunch of friends having fun, living the dream. Once it lost the individual personalities & became more about product advertising, we lost the feel of personal connection to you the characters of the channel. We miss the feeling of hanging out at the shop & learning with the bros. I agree a vlog might not be your area of comfort, but these personal videos & carrying us along are what we want & miss. We’re here for the people, not corporate. I hope you find your happy spot, & we look forward to seeing you succeed on your journey!
My dad had the exact same truck. But he used it as a work truck. Ill remember being 5+ riding around in this truck. He had a 3 &1/2 in Cast Iron bumper on the front (for pushing) and a triple hitch (all cast) in the back. Truck was so heavy it looked lowered. But he would use it for towing busses with a towrope. That truck took such a battle. Ill never forget it.

Me too dude! I remember coming home from middle school to watch daily transmission videos. Now I’m about to graduate university with a full degree. I feel so old now. Wishing you the best Vinny!
yup same situation here, ab to graduate, thx vin
@@vin_traI’m in the same boat but 23 now, love seeing appearances on dde, with Larry Chen. Collaboration and work with others in the industry would be dope.
Always been a Hoonigan fan, Ken got me watching the content. I spend my days over at DDE now and was STOKED to see you over there Vin, you would be an amazing member of that group. Hope to see more of you there but whatever you end up doing, I wish you well and I will be watching. Cheers!
You hert and dan. Were my favorites to watch over the years. Just a bunch of fun chill bros that kept us laughing for years. We appreciate yall.
Yep, most of the people at Hoonigan worth watching have left.
Same! Unreal memories watching the three amigos laughing and car culturing
I remember watching the first daily transmissions every day on my lunch break - that was one of the best parts of my days. The brand has changed, and I think the audience (atleast me) has changed as well. The OG guys have a special place in my heart, and I wish you all the best. You genuinely had a big impact on my view on cars and I'm sure I'm talkin for a lot of other people as well. Again, all the best for you Vinny!
I went from watching daily transmissions to watching This Vs That's for my lunch break activities now hah
watched this when it came out, since DDE is back at the HQ that would be the next best thing to the old school. They've got the momentum be cool to have someone with your know how mixed in
Ken passing and the Sale of the brand had to be the end of this OG Era.
I wish them well with or without all of you guys.
Good and relatable Content really means a lot to people around the world.
I hope all of you guys can pave your own lanes and collaborate with each other outside of hoonigan.
Best of luck.
it was sold over a year ago
Hey Vin! I just wanted to take a second and thank you for the last 10 plus years and everything you have done at hoonigan. You, Dan, Hert and Scotto helped to grow car culture leaps and bounds and had an impact I’m not sure we will ever see again. Above all you’re just a genuinely good dude! I had the pleasure of meeting you at SEMA at the burn yard a couple years back, you were super nice and humble and way generous with your time. Enjoy that vacation! I can wait to see the content you cook up man!
You owe none of us any of this. You are just an old school good dude. Thank you for sharing a piece of you
You are right but I love the support so I want to make stuff for you.
@@vin_traYou're a good man Vin. Cheers for all the laughs and the knowledge passed on! Looking forward to seeing what you get up to after taking such a long break from watching Hoonigan.
This is so sad watching all the OG hoonigans leave but I get it times change, people move on, excited to see what the future holds
The company was probably sold or took on new investors that want to go a different most likely even more corporate then it already is so the OGs will naturally all leave
@@bored2323 It was sold, WheelPros owns it now.
@@bored2323if you just go look at the last handful of months of Hoonigan content it is all the very structured “this vs that” and similar content. The old content of having off the cuff and wild content won’t be done by a large corporation.
Just have to say, I think Vin and DDE are a perfect match. Would love to see that happen. A huge win for both.
I think what really sparked peoples love for Hoonigan was the fact that it was basically a skateboard brand. I don’t think growth is a bad thing, it’s just a very different company than back in the days of daily transmission. Good luck on whatever comes next, I know I’ll be staying up to date on your socials
Well said
We all knew Hoonigan wasn't ever going to be the same after the HHIC unfortunately passed away. Vin I completely understand people get older and their priorities shift. I wanna say thank you for 10 good years of awesome ass entertaining content I wish you and everyone else good luck one everyone's new endeavors and I can't wait to see what everyone does.
Pretty sure they sold the company before Ken died.
It was toast before he died it went to corporate cunts
All of you guys have kept it so classy and never bad mouthed the company its very refreshing to see. Good luck with your future endeavors I wish you the best!
Truly a end of a era. Feels like we were along for the whole ride. Best of luck to future you. You , Hert & the crew started a huge wave in the car scene, you deserve the rest.
Glad it’s over lmao
@@Jeffgordonfan24hesthegoat why are you even here?
They are insufferable bags of work equipment
@@RumblesBettr well it’s about understanding the dynamic. DDE is about fun and doing crazy things “shenanigans” with amazing cars and the whole drama involved. Damon also shows his role as a father and a husband in a way that can be positive to other men. It’s also about friendship and teamwork. I don’t see anything wrong with that in the grand scheme of things. I learned how amazing a V12 sounds and they got me into understanding that caliber of vehicle for the first time. It’s a big world my friend and there are waaaaaayyy worse things on the earth other than DDE. 🌟
@@danteguyton7012 i dont see any redeeming quality in the videos they make they just seem toolish but if u like it go for it. Enjoy
Well... I will forever cherish the great content we got with you guys and hope the future is bright both for you, the other great people who have left and hope hoonigan reinvents itself every day and keep bringing cool things to the table
Thanks man. It means so much that people enjoyed what we did. It is brutally sad to leave but it is the end of that era for the brand.
Never too late to try something new. Just saying.
@MrStuwr250f true story. I started my career at almost 30, and I started my UA-cam channel at almost 40.
@@FriendlyMBTech So good! If you try you are already winning no matter how old. I’m 54 and constantly thinking of new projects, done a few different things, some successful some not. I’m still keen to try new things. Good luck with your channel! (Ps just subbed to your channel)
@MrStuwr250f thank you! I 100% agree. As long as you're trying, you're moving in the right direction. A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step. No matter your journey, you just gotta keep taking those single steps.
It’s good to see you back at the old shop, doing things with DDE respect from the UK
Really sad to see all this happening hoonigan has been my favorite channel for years now but it’s just not gonna be the same with all the OGs gone but thanks for all the content you guys have put out and all the memories.
Yeah, unfortunately a lot of the changes just don't align with what a lot of us wanted out of life and work alike. But it wasn't our choices and we had no control other than our own paths. Tough decisions but cant be bummed about the rad shit we did.
@@vin_tra not bummed about the rad shit at all man you guys did some of the coolest shit on UA-cam and the biggest thing about it is you could tell it was all friends working together and just having fun that’s always what brought me back but good luck on your new journey I’ll definitely be watching
@vin_tra I know allot of us will follow as you do new things. I just wish there was a way you guys could do something together. It was such a great vibe of guys who just liked doing dumb stuff with cars.
Thank you for sharing your story Vin, listening to herts story, even scotto taking a step back, a lot of things change when the man in charge isn’t there anymore, you have all of our support Vin, you gotta do what’s best for you man
You are the reason I unleashed my inner bimmer fan boy. I have always loved BMWs like e36, e46, e92 but never made the move to buy one and enjoy it until i watch you on hoonigan.
Keep inspiring us to be well rounded drivers with great taste in cars!
Damn man, it feels like old friends moving on...but this is a part of life. I wish the best for Vin, his family, and all of the members at Hoonigan.
well i think i will start making some videos here so i wont be too far!
As we watch the sun set on Hoonigan, I just want to say thanks for everything. It's been a wild ride and I enjoyed watching every minute of it.
I have so much respect for this channel and when people decide to leave they actually address the fans/followers and let us know what’s up. That’s a true proper professional channel in my opinion. Respect. Best of luck in your future endeavors
Well said!
It was good to see you one The DDE Walk-through Video...Nostalgic
Content Creator of the Year makes his own rules!
(Congrats on the move man, you’ll crush it of course)
Totally agree. He just comes off as really humble & down to earth. Which is unfortunately rare now a days.
I left a job of 7 years that I once loved and thought I would never leave this year also. Once the happiness starts to fade, it changes everything. Best of luck to you on your new adventure. I hope it brings back the happiness you're looking for!
34y/o. I have a shit @ss desk job making $220k/year. I hate it. HATE it. Never taken a vacation in my adult life.
Poach some kids from donut. Their scripts are trash lately, but they have solid characters.
@@d.leesheppard7607second that
The Hoonigan brand was being sold before Ken passed. I think these guys were already burned out and then tragedy. Now a wheel company is hoonigan, and hoonigan is now a wheel company. Time waits for no one. This always had a best by date, be glad we witnessed it, not just spoke about how cool it would have been.
I honestly think the content went downhill quite a while before Kens passing. Might have been the final straw though.
@@alexm6340 indeed
It kills me to see what seems to be such a rapid decline of what was a huge part of my 20s and early 30s. It feels like O.Gs are being forced to make the choice to leave. Thank you for the memories.
I think after Ken passed away, people have had a deep look at their lives, and just considered their future, what they want to do. No shame in that. People haven't been forced to leave, they've just chosen to move on to different things in life, and that's okay.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the OG staff are forming another business and we see content mid 2024 after there non compete contract is complete
@andrewkirk8687 Martiniworks but with the og hoonigans
The OG gang is growing up.... Man you guys were part of the reason why I started doing wild stuff with cars. Thanks Vin!

@@RejectReality97 see I have spent the last 10 years watching Hoonigan. If you don't follow it then this wouldnt effect you. And that's fine. Those who do 2023 has been hard. It feels like something that we have invested years has fallen apart. So yeah it can bring an emotional response.
I watched this videos with maybe 20k views and now its blown up to over a mil. WOW what an incredible first vid on your own channel, Vin. Can't want to see what's next!

It’s the end of an era and what you and the OG crew of hoonigan built together was revolutionary and so influential to the car culture. Thank you for all the entertainment and I’m sure the future is bright with new and wild endeavours!
It really is the end of an amazing era. All of you and ken made hoonigan what it is today, it won't be the same without you guys. I literally grew up watching gymkhanas and donut garage so much inspiration from all of you. Best of luck on your journey Vin, please keep us up to date! And RIP Ken. Love you all.
Thanks for telling us! Sad to see all the OG’s leaving but Hoonigan the past few years hasn’t been the same, you guys positively affected us all.
Been out of the car scene for a long while, but I think stumbling upon your story has re-sparked my interest. Can't wait to see where this all goes. Good luck Vin, thanks for sharing!
Vin thank you for years of entertainment. Hoonigan won't be the same without you and Hert but I can't wait to see what future content you come out with.

Gonna miss the old days too as an OG viewer. We love to see you on the internet your viewers get older too lol. I would love to see you do something with track stuff I feel like it’s very under represented on UA-cam for weekend warrior drivers. Excited to see what you do.

It's sad to see the gang splitting up but amazing to sew the avenues everyone is taking. It definitely seems like the passing of Ken was also the passing of hoonigan in a way.

I wasn’t the biggest Hoonigan fan, so this video you’re making is actually my introduction to you. This video is nicely done and the honesty that’s coming through from it has me interested in what your next moves will be. I’m subscribed here and will keep an eye open for what you have coming next.
Let's not call it an end of an era, that's just the end of that chapter, your era starts at Hoonigan, now it continues to your next project. Keep doing your thing my friend. The people that have always liked you, the fans, will always be there.
I work for a company that was recently acquired. It's been a miserable experience. Two hour meetings for what used to be a quick conversation. It's my second time going through this and it seems like it's an immediate red flag to just go ahead and get out. Best of luck with your new venture.
