Fans of Pokemon animation in the near future will be able to experience flying by boarding a Pikachu jet, which departs for Japan and Korea. The plane is part of Pokemon Air Adventures in Singapore, a joint project of The Pokémon Company (TPC) in Japan with airline Scoot Pte Ltd (Scoot) in Singapore. This collaboration marks the first ASEAN airline outside Japan to launch a unique Pokemon-themed flight experience. The Pikachu Jet TR plane also kicks off the first phase of Pokemon Air Adventures from TPC. "We are delighted to be the first ASEAN airline to partner with The Pokemon Company to connect customers across our network with Pikachu Jet TR," said Scoot CEO Leslie Thing. "Together with The Pokémon Company, Scoot will provide an extraordinary customer experience on Pikachu Jet TR through a series of inflight amenities, merchandise, food, and complementary activities," he added. Both parties announced the Pikachu Jet TR livery at a press conference held at Changi Airport, Singapore on Tuesday (30/08/2022). The uniqueness of the Pikachu Jet TR aircraft will fly from Singapore to Japan or South Korea. The attraction of Scoot's plane is that it features Pokemon-themed images on its exterior design.
Passengers will also get various inflight amenities with Pokemon designs. Including original merchandise such as tote bags, lanyards, bucket hats, and miniature collector's edition airplane models wearing special Pokemon livery. In addition, the Pikachu Jet TR aircraft also serves a selection of Japanese specialties to add to the unique experience of launching this Pikachu Jet TR. For information, the Pikachu Jet TR is a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 375 seats. Its maiden flight is scheduled for Friday, September 9, 2022 to Tokyo, Japan. Passengers can start booking flights to Tokyo and Seoul with flights departing bi-monthly from Terminal 1 of Changi Airport in Singapore. Ticket prices for a one-way trip start from Singapore $333 for the purpose of Tokyo and Singapore $231 for the purpose of Seoul, including tax. The Pikachu Jet TR route will be reviewed regularly and passengers can view the latest information through the official Scoot website.
After the launch of the Pikachu Jet TR aircraft, the Pikachu Weekend celebration as a follow-up activity will be held in Singapore on 18-20 November 2022. The event will feature an evening show at Marina Bay, alongside the Pokemon GO event, “Pokemon GO Safari Zone: Singapore”, which will take place at Gardens by the Bay. Users can purchase tickets and participate in a prime location in Gardens by the Bay, where Maractus (a grass-type Pokemon character) will appear in the wild. For the first time in Pokemon GO, lucky users can also find Shiny Purrloin characters. Not only that, Pikachu in a purple shirt (flowers), will appear in the wild starting November 2022 for a year.
