A good, honest video. Bloopers included with good info. I'm not sure, but it appeared you wrapped the teflon tape in the wrong direction for greatest success. It will work either way if the parts screw together. But sometimes the tape will begin to unwrap while screwing the parts together, a problem that is avoided if the tape is wrapped in the right direction.

Correct me if I'm wrong .. White Teflon tape isn't for gas or diesel The Teflon tape goes in the other direction. I'm not a professional, but this is what I've learned over the past 25 years.
Very helpful video! I noticed when you are priming the non-working bulb that it is not being held vertically...many primer bulbs won't become firm/pump if they're not held in the vertical position so that the ball drops down into position to create pressure buildup.
Great video - quick question. I have a 13ft 2008 whaler with twin 6.6 quicksilver tanks (40ph Merc). Running this weekend, the boat started to bog down and died. I noticed the bulb was collapsed and the tank we were running off of under the pickup and connection was leaking fuel - you could press down on the tank or just move it and fuel would come out. Shut the tank off and got it started on the other tank and made it back in. I know there's a gasket under the pickup/connection, and it appears to have gone bad (obviously with the fuel leak). Could this cause issues with the bulb and stalling out? Keep the videos coming!
my motor goes good for 20 minutes then the primer is flat, after keep squeezing the primer for 5 minutes then the motor starts but only runs max 5 knots all the way back to the boat ramp if i try go faster it stalls, any ideas because it does go fast for the first 20 minutes every time I go out then primer flat again? I dont think its a blockage as it runs perfect for first 20 min each time, has an underfloor fuel tank. Please help...
@@thecollegequarterdeck funny thing is after i finally get it primed for fuel flow, I can't go over 5 knots or the motor stalls, like this all the way back to the boat ramp.
@@thecollegequarterdeck no all sealed up except the breather hose that is new. I'm going to try run the fuel from a fuel can instead of the underfloor tank just so i can see if its the motor or fuel tank. Or maybe a clear hose going to the motor to see if any air bubbles get through. just an idea at the moment.
Nice video and thank you for sharing. I'm trying to find out what's the problem with my tank... it get sucked in and looks like I'm having fuel restriction.🐟🪝🎣

Yeah, novice move on my part at the time. I completely agree, tape in the correct directions makes life easier 👌🏼

@@archer9732 I appreciate it! Glad you were able to fix your issue!
Thanks homie. You are the only dude I found that made it clear and straightforward.
I'm happy we could help!
Excellent video. No drama and straightforward. 👍👍
Thats our goal!
Thank you sir great video

Didn't notice the direction of the arrows and engine wouldn't start. Thanks a lot!

That would be correct! Yellow would be the correct color to use and I was wrapping the tape wrong. I've definitely learned i was doing it wrong 😂

Thanks man this video was very helpful! Great content!
Awww! Thank you! We appreciate the support!
You think is a must to have fuel water separator for small fuel injected outboards?
Hopefully my response to your comment on the other video helps clarify things :)

Ahh yes, that is correct. We did a bit of that off screen, but Chris should have held the bulb vertically to get the best results.
If i have a similiar tank you showed here, would I need to manually vent it before use if its been stored for a week?
It's always good to open the vent when in use so that way any pressure is released from the tank.

All depends on the tank and your set up so its hard to say.

As in the priming bulb is sucked flat or theres no just no fuel in it but has its normal shape?
@@thecollegequarterdeck Hi, yes totally flat and stays flat takes 5min to squeeze it to pump fuel again.

@@AussieRic I know its gonna sound silly but, is the fuel tank vent open?

i think your line was first on the wrong way ,the primer ball arrow has to point to the motor
Forgot to reply, but the engine is still running so I think it's Gucci ^-^

to much talk about fuel line connectors was waiting for fuel system info.
Nice :)
All those adapters suck..I'm hard hosing everything

Is the vent open on top of the tank? That way air can flow in and out, allowing the pressure in the tank to equalize.
