Making Tallow Moisturizer From Beef Fat - Entire Process Start to Finish

  • A couple things I forgot to mention:
    1. The best beef source for this will be cows that are grass fed & grass finished. If you don't have access to this quality of beef fat, it's my opinion that grass fed & grain finished is fine too. The farmer I sourced the suet from gives his cows access to grass their entire lives and also adds in grains toward the end of life so their diet is both grain & grass. I think the most important thing to look for when sourcing beef fat for tallow or beef for eating is to buy from a farmer you trust and someone who isn't pumping them with antibiotics, GMO feed, and other commercial practices that hurt the quality of the beef.
    2. The moisturizer should have a shelf life of about 12 months.
    Recipe for ~11 2oz jars:
    2 cup beef tallow
    1/2 cup jojoba oil: amzn.to/3ZMDtKP
    2 tsp vitamin e oil: amzn.to/3BGAvj7
    48 drops of essential oil
    jars: amzn.to/3BEEDjH
After editing this video I went down a rabbit hole on essential oils and I don't recommend the company I purchased from. It seemed legit at first, and it may be, but I have some doubts so I'll be sourcing from different companies moving forward. The research I did after filming brought me to Plant Therapy and linked below are a few essential oils I will be trying next. I suggest you do your own research on essential oils and pick which ones work for you :)

Thanks! Already wanted to make this and your video made it looks so easy! Only 'problem' here is, that I have nog idea where I could get my beef source here in the area. Here in Belgium most of them aren't bio and grass fed unfortunately :(

Great job!!👏👏 I loved the step by step instructions! I wonder where I can get some beef tallow in San Diego. I guess I can Google it!

I prefer the stove top method. I've found you have to render less time to get a finished useable tallow. Thanks for sharing the moisturizer! I usually use my tallow for cooking..😊
You could put the whipped tallow into a piping bag. That certainly would make it easier to fill them.

I don’t have a piping bag but I did think about using a zip loc and snipping the end. I’ll try that next time. Thank you!

I typically just use a ziplock. 😂 As long as whatever you need to pipe is soft a ziplock works great. Anything stiff will split the seam on a ziplock bag. I'm very experienced in that. @@MorethanGardening

For filling the jars I feel like a piping bag might work without a tip ?
