Really well done! Slowly spoken with great diction to make us think. Key points highlighted. Would love to also be able to get a written copy of the key points.

Very important “words” that we all need to think about from today forward. Your expectations and behaviors need to change! The well-being of those living with dementia is dependent on it.

I think keeping the person involved, interested and even challenged in as normal a way as possible & for as long as possible helps- eg, ask them to help you in the garden or doing a household chore. You will 'supervise' but make them feel they are still contributing something useful and helpful- that you need their input. Feeling useless and having a sense that you are 'just a burden' must be awful.

I can tell you that it does wonders. My mum always wants to feel useful even in her late stage Alzheimers. I even allow her to mix ingredients in a bowl then put them in a dish to cook in the oven( not turned on). Most of the things she tries to cook cannot be eaten but it doesn't matter.
