Fun fact! The song uses the came note progression from ANTIVILLAIN in verse 6!! (and same lyrics mostly modifed) CYBERNETIC HEART: Take a long look at all these figures all around you Do I look troubled by the tasks you have to do? ANTIVILLAIN: Take a long look at all the people all around you Do they look happy with the choices that they've made?
It seems to me that antivillian, antihuman, data reject, and now cybernetic heart are all set in the same world with it all revolving around the character who uses the green text.
So I visited our local 7/11 again to sip on the nozzle of some premium grade diesel and I could've SWORN we had an earthquake. Everyone I've asked has no idea what I'm talking about. They're saying it's because my "chronic gas-drinking addiction has gotten out of hand" but I KNOW what I felt. I'm not crazy. Please be careful out there guys, something's not right in this town.
I'M CALLING IT NOW, VERY SOON WE'RE GETTING A SONG CALLED "S.O.S." or something similar, and it's going to be about someone finding the lab and breaking in, it is too perfect of a segue into a solid plotline to not be used. Also a song that uses the SOS morse code rhythm would be awesome. Also, just noticed this, the Doctor does not consider the products of his experiments people: "Take a long look at all these people all around me" "Take a long look at all these figures all around me" the world "people" is explicitly changed to "figures"
And if you'll notice, during that segment the fake heartbeat from the beginning has returned and as it becomes clear he sees them as mere tools and has no care for their plight, the fake heartbeat starts to quicken before panic sets in and the nameless drone that's singing tries to start an escape attempt.
Everyone get your headphones ready, and get ready for music that sounds so good that it should be illegal to make music, for in three hours this song will be releasing.
This reminds me of Citizen Sleeper's premise - A drone that was once human, called a Sleeper, who had given up thier humanity to work and became a corporation's asset, no more than property, escapes corporate enslavement, while also having a purposeful expiration date and needing to find a way to survive. It's a good game, I recommend it.

Building on that i think that they might instead be a scientist or at least a researcher because of specific lines saying that "they knew the risks" and how their research "didn't win a prize" but there are also some lyrics that say they don't want to be there but they are stuck doing it "imprisoned without a lock" and the figures might be other researchers or subjects, and the line that says "do i look troubled by the tasks you have to do" makes me think it's more of a researcher starting to feel bad about what they are doing so they help people escape and try to keep other people out and "send an s.o.s. to those not enclosed in this nightmare" Edit 1 and 2: Grammar again XD
@@astroknight6488 maybe but some lines might also suggest it being a single robot in a "flock" of others escaping their coding from "GOD" and trying to revolt
Apparently, the Evil Doctor transforms unsuccessful samples of the transformation serum into protogens with almost complete control over consciousness and a bunch of emergency switches so that they do not escape - despite the fact that they seem to retain consciousness. Creepy.

Twice now this song coming on has damn near instantly grounded me during a panic attack, I don’t know what kind of wizardry you are doing with your music but keep doing it.
Exactly! Wish more people were talking about that in the comments. I'm wondering if this protogen is part of cosmic critters and has some sort of story similar to the original lore of the protogens. 🤔
@@Synthia_Lovr it somehow manages to fit basically the entire story in a 3 minute song and not feel rushed. Also, you’d never expect them to have this much lore when everyone calls them toasters.
Lyrics breakdown: (also, you know, the lyrics too plus the bits of text in brackets) La, da da da da da (x2) [No real meaning here, maybe something to do with booting up, but that's a bit of a stretch.] La, da da da (x2) La, da da da A brain of circuitry, I feel the sparks enter me, [The person pictured, who the song is about, I'll just call Proto, wakes up in a new body.] I put my hand to my heart, I might be missing some parts, [Maybe, in their electronic form, they feel empty.] My pulse, a steady hum, [A traditional pulse is replaced with a constant hum of the flow of electricity.] My chest, a beatless drum, [Not sure what this means exactly. Maybe it's attached to the above line, in the lack of a heartbeat.] I wake up only to see, I breathe electricity, [After whatever happened before, they were given this robotic form.] Ohhh... Am I alive anymore? [Oh, boy I have things to say about this. There's always the existential dread, and confusion regarding "uploading" your consciousness, and as well as that, viruses are not considered to be alive because they cannot reproduce, and what kind of individual puts a fully functional reproductive system in a robot?] Was there even a before? [Amnesia, or fogged memories.] Ohhh... Were these thoughts always my own? [The influence of the Doctor onto their mind, fogging up what they're actually thinking.] Or am I only a clone? [Yet another line which brings up the idea of "uploading" your consciousness. If you do, it could be cloned thousands of times and then downloaded into different bodies, by the very nature of files. Or, much worse, it could be deleted entirely. However, that's not important here.] A sea of endless drones, [This is not the only Proto that the Doctor has made. He has made very likely thousands.] Surrounded by the crowd, But I feel alone, [This suggests maybe a lack of a connection to the others, possibly connected to the, "I might be missing some parts," line above.] Marching on along like we're made for war, [Possibly a hive-mind-like connection shared by them, or because of their code.] Who am I, what am I, [Proto knows absolutely nothing about the nature of their existence.] Made here for? My feet controlled by intangible force, [Their code influencing their movement, controlling them.] An inexplainable source, But I must follow its course, AROUND THE CLOCK, [Always moving, always going. Despite being conscious and intelligent, they are treated like programs, or machines.] WE NEVER STOP, WATCHED LIKE A HAWK, He's standing there at the top, [The Doctor may be noting down what they're doing, learning from his mistakes and moving forwards with whatever he wants with them.] NO SWEAT JUST SHOP, [It is effectively a sweatshop of Protos.] NO THOUGHT LIVESTOCK, WE'RE JUST HIS FLOCK, Imprisoned without a lock, [They cannot leave their new bodies. They will always be stuck like this.] Ohh... [The Doctor's first appearance, though it isn't confirmed until the reference to Antivillain later.] You knew the risks and agreed, Success was not guaranteed, [This is a much deeper theory than just these two lines would imply. I believe that creating the Protos was not intentional, but was a way of saving them after whatever the Doctor was trying failed, and put their life at risk. I'll bring this theory up again once we get to the next line that references it.] Ohh... It's what my research entails, You'll work for me if it fails, [More evidence for the saving theory.] Stop this, We're crying for release, [They are clearly unhappy with their situation.] Cause pain still comes with consciousness, I'm begging you please, Have mercy on the mangled minds of subjects who've fallen, If saving comes with slaving, then whose sins are more rotten? [This is THE segment which builds the majority of the saving theory. "Have mercy on the mangled minds of subjects who've fallen," suggests that these were failed experiments, or workers who died, "If saving comes with slaving, then whose sins are more rotten?" is the centerpiece of the theory. At this point, it's less of a theory, and more of a theme. But I think we're forgetting, "whose sins are more rotten?" because that would suggest wrongs committed *by* the person who became Proto. There isn't enough evidence to determine what, though.] Take a long look at all these figures all around you, [ANTIVILLAIN REFERENCE!!! It was really awesome hearing that originally, and it does confirm that the lower voice with the green subtitles is the Doctor. Also, this line reveals that the Doctor does not consider them people anymore, because comparing the original line, "Take a long look at all the people all around me," versus, "figures all around me" clearly acts as evidence for this.] Do I look troubled by the tasks you have to do? [He doesn't care how bad it is for them.] Break out, run fast, when the sirens blast, We need to get out with our lives before the time has passed, He can't control us if we fight against our code en masse, There's still a part of you that's fighting back below the mask, [Fast section here, basically telling the story of a revolution of all these Protos fighting against the Doctor. Why they didn't try killing him is another question entirely. Maybe that's a forbidden thought because of their programming.] We're not just robots, We were people just trying to live our lives, [Supports the idea that they were people before this,] We took the gamble, [They knew there was a risk with working with the Doctor.] Left in shambles, When we won no prize, [They gained nothing from doing it.] Behind your eyes still lives the person who had died inside, [Died inside suggests that they were mentally unwell before the Doctor screwed them over.] He brought us back, and now we're working for his enterprise, [The Doctor is doing this for money. Real outstanding guy.] A revolution underground, We're screaming out but make no *sound* [The Doctor took their ability to speak.] I feel a shock, And I fall down, I look around, We're on the ground, The exit doors all come to a close, As we lay motionless along the ground, Our circuits have frozen, This whole resurrected life, [I think they were mentally unwell, but when they went to the Doctor to fix it, they died in the process, and were revived as Protos.] Is not the life we had chosen, But my hope is not all lost, If someone outside here knows, And so I send a message out before the final door closes, A signal sending S.O.S. to those not enclosed in this nightmare. [WE NEED A SONG CALLED S.O.S. THAT TAKES PLACE DIRECTLY AFTER THIS ONE AND IS ABOUT SOMEONE FINDING ALL THE PROTOS WORKING MINDLESSLY PLEASE I NEED IT] [If I had to guess the theme of this song, it would have to do with the existential consequences of uploading your consciousness, or the morality of employing people 24/7, who are effectively slaves you can crush at a snap of your fingers. Probably the best song Ivy has made. At this rate, Ivy is going to be making good songs so fast that they consume the top 10 songs out at all times.]
CYBERNETIC HEART is the next in a series of songs that are narratively linked. It's predecessors being DATA_REJECT, ANTIVILLIAN, and loosely ANTIHUMAN. This will not be a full narrative review of each song, but an overview. Listen to them more and try to pick up on the other details. ANTIHUMAN is the thematic foundation upon which the other songs are built. It's since been declared non-canon to the rest of the story, but still is clearly a prototype of the later entries. ANTIVILLIAN is the start of the narrative chain, with Moka being approached by a shadowy figure with an offer of divinity in exchange for giving up humanity. Thrice the shadowy figure says "It's your choice to be controlled" and each time he says it with a different meaning. The first, "You can choose to be controlled". The second, "You can choose to controlled". The third, "You can choose to be controlled". DATA_REJECT is the next entry, with a human by the name of Akim Shill Valenka being approached by the shadowy figure of ANTIHUMAN INC. and administered some sort of serum that transformed him into Vanilla Milkshake, a *very* large anthropomorphic vampire bat, the process clearly harsh given the bleeding from his eyes immediately afterward. Vanilla then confronts the "gods" of ANTIHUMAN INC, decrying they have no clue what they're doing, before escaping from ANTIHUMAN INC. and possibly from 'this reality' as well. CYBERNETIC HEART is the most recent entry, with an unnamed person awaking after perishing during the experimentation carried out by ANTIHUMAN INC. revived with cybernetic implants and forced to slave away endlessly. This unnamed subject calls out to the shadowy figure, pleading for freedom, only to be rebuked by his response that made it clear he didn't see them as people, but as tools to be used. It was then that the subject panicked and attempted an escape, fighting back against the code that largely controlled them before all of the Revived were shocked and immobilized.
Thank you for this, I was going to try and do something similar but you've written it in such a better way than I ever could have. 100% agree with everything you've said.

ANTIVILLAIN:

Do they look happy with the choices that they've made?
Also, the text is in green, and green has been used multiple times in connection to that character

So fire! Loved the part that sounded like antivillian + that really fast bit. Overall, amazing song! :3
Ivycomb, Stephanafro, and PC-Doodle always making these videos the best thing ever
Just one question
How do the three of you even do this-
I LOVE IT

But.. but the 4 is not the no but the yes should be 5
_(This is supposed to not make sense)_

i'ma time traveler frfr
This is extremely well made! I have only just recently found you songs and channel and i am blown away by the quality! now a part of m wants to break into a lab
Steph's rent really was due, ivycomb keeps testing his voice and he keeps passing! The range form the daftpunk parts to the villain's parts is incredible- felt the hype in my bones for the white text
Love the character art! Music is amazing! Thanks so much for this!
i am flabbergasted, utterly blown away by how good this song is, and also i am surprised and happy beyond any human comprehension at the fact that IVYCOMB NOTICED ME LIKE
AHHH IT WAS TRUE
HOLY CRAP SOMEONE IS LOSING IT LIKE MEEEE
nooo i edited it to fix a mistake in it and it got rid of the heart noooooo
I talked to them once. They try to be involved.
I like that.
instantly one of my fav songs made by you so far omfg it hits all them awesome beats hell yee!!!! youre awesome man!
Imagine if soundcloud leaks this early 💀
Soundcloud try not to release a track a few days before it drops officially challenge: impossible
it's already on bandcamp
@@Skillissue448 it released my album 3 WEEKS early
It did last time same with Spotify
It did
No way, this song fits perfectly with a story I’ve had in my head for years!
Cant wait to hear/see it🔥, ill have to wait until awhile cos is gonna start at 2:30am 😢
I did not expect this to show up on my timeline.. but I'm loving it :D
maybe the real ivycomb was the friends we made along the way?
Twice now this song coming on has damn near instantly grounded me during a panic attack, I don’t know what kind of wizardry you are doing with your music but keep doing it.
Heartbeat. You may not recognize it but your mind hear peaceful heartbeat and calms down. Tip: double beats is a heartbeat
That sums up protogen lore pretty nicely
that's what im thinking!
Also, you’d never expect them to have this much lore when everyone calls them toasters.
thanks you for pointing it out!
Protogens have 'official' lore? I've seen so many protos with all different lore that I didn't even know there was a real one lol
This is amazing! New favorite Ivycomb song.
Love how you use the protogen lore for a song!
The "Take a long look" with that chord progression actually shocked me, 10/10
It's been so long...
I love this song
love the username, not a big fan of the message but it's a funny pun
-protogen
PROOT!!!
(Edit: I've also noticed your improvements throughout your composing journey, and I know there is still a lot more. Way to go Ivycomb!)
A PROTOOOOOOOO
PROTOOOOOOOOOOO TIME >:D
so close but 100% proot inspired
(I go "PROOT" when I see them too)
Lol
Progen :D
A proto *gasp* wait I'm proto too ^w^
I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH ❤
dude i cant wait i love ur music
This is easily one of new favorite Ivycomb songs
1:54 antihuman reference 🔥
And just when I thought your music couldn't get any better, here it is. Holy fuck, I am without words. Absolute masterpiece.
Loved the anti villain motif, amazing song!
Listened to this song right after it came out, and i absolutely ADORED it
Lyrics breakdown: (also, you know, the lyrics too plus the bits of text in brackets)
La, da da da da da (x2) [No real meaning here, maybe something to do with booting up, but that's a bit of a stretch.]
La, da da da (x2)
La, da da da
A brain of circuitry,
I feel the sparks enter me, [The person pictured, who the song is about, I'll just call Proto, wakes up in a new body.]
I put my hand to my heart,
I might be missing some parts, [Maybe, in their electronic form, they feel empty.]
My pulse, a steady hum, [A traditional pulse is replaced with a constant hum of the flow of electricity.]
My chest, a beatless drum, [Not sure what this means exactly. Maybe it's attached to the above line, in the lack of a heartbeat.]
I wake up only to see,
I breathe electricity, [After whatever happened before, they were given this robotic form.]
Ohhh...
Am I alive anymore? [Oh, boy I have things to say about this. There's always the existential dread, and confusion regarding "uploading" your consciousness, and as well as that, viruses are not considered to be alive because they cannot reproduce, and what kind of individual puts a fully functional reproductive system in a robot?]
Was there even a before? [Amnesia, or fogged memories.]
Ohhh...
Were these thoughts always my own? [The influence of the Doctor onto their mind, fogging up what they're actually thinking.]
Or am I only a clone? [Yet another line which brings up the idea of "uploading" your consciousness. If you do, it could be cloned thousands of times and then downloaded into different bodies, by the very nature of files. Or, much worse, it could be deleted entirely. However, that's not important here.]
A sea of endless drones, [This is not the only Proto that the Doctor has made. He has made very likely thousands.]
Surrounded by the crowd,
But I feel alone, [This suggests maybe a lack of a connection to the others, possibly connected to the, "I might be missing some parts," line above.]
Marching on along like we're made for war, [Possibly a hive-mind-like connection shared by them, or because of their code.]
Who am I, what am I, [Proto knows absolutely nothing about the nature of their existence.]
Made here for?
My feet controlled by intangible force, [Their code influencing their movement, controlling them.]
An inexplainable source,
But I must follow its course,
AROUND THE CLOCK, [Always moving, always going. Despite being conscious and intelligent, they are treated like programs, or machines.]
WE NEVER STOP,
WATCHED LIKE A HAWK,
He's standing there at the top, [The Doctor may be noting down what they're doing, learning from his mistakes and moving forwards with whatever he wants with them.]
NO SWEAT JUST SHOP, [It is effectively a sweatshop of Protos.]
NO THOUGHT LIVESTOCK,
WE'RE JUST HIS FLOCK,
Imprisoned without a lock, [They cannot leave their new bodies. They will always be stuck like this.]
Ohh... [The Doctor's first appearance, though it isn't confirmed until the reference to Antivillain later.]
You knew the risks and agreed,
Success was not guaranteed, [This is a much deeper theory than just these two lines would imply. I believe that creating the Protos was not intentional, but was a way of saving them after whatever the Doctor was trying failed, and put their life at risk. I'll bring this theory up again once we get to the next line that references it.]
Ohh...
It's what my research entails,
You'll work for me if it fails, [More evidence for the saving theory.]
Stop this,
We're crying for release, [They are clearly unhappy with their situation.]
Cause pain still comes with consciousness,
I'm begging you please,
Have mercy on the mangled minds of subjects who've fallen,
If saving comes with slaving, then whose sins are more rotten?
[This is THE segment which builds the majority of the saving theory. "Have mercy on the mangled minds of subjects who've fallen," suggests that these were failed experiments, or workers who died, "If saving comes with slaving, then whose sins are more rotten?" is the centerpiece of the theory. At this point, it's less of a theory, and more of a theme. But I think we're forgetting, "whose sins are more rotten?" because that would suggest wrongs committed *by* the person who became Proto. There isn't enough evidence to determine what, though.]
Take a long look at all these figures all around you, [ANTIVILLAIN REFERENCE!!! It was really awesome hearing that originally, and it does confirm that the lower voice with the green subtitles is the Doctor. Also, this line reveals that the Doctor does not consider them people anymore, because comparing the original line, "Take a long look at all the people all around me," versus, "figures all around me" clearly acts as evidence for this.]
Do I look troubled by the tasks you have to do? [He doesn't care how bad it is for them.]
Break out, run fast, when the sirens blast,
We need to get out with our lives before the time has passed,
He can't control us if we fight against our code en masse,
There's still a part of you that's fighting back below the mask,
[Fast section here, basically telling the story of a revolution of all these Protos fighting against the Doctor. Why they didn't try killing him is another question entirely. Maybe that's a forbidden thought because of their programming.]
We're not just robots,
We were people just trying to live our lives, [Supports the idea that they were people before this,]
We took the gamble, [They knew there was a risk with working with the Doctor.]
Left in shambles,
When we won no prize, [They gained nothing from doing it.]
Behind your eyes still lives the person who had died inside, [Died inside suggests that they were mentally unwell before the Doctor screwed them over.]
He brought us back, and now we're working for his enterprise, [The Doctor is doing this for money. Real outstanding guy.]
A revolution underground,
We're screaming out but make no *sound* [The Doctor took their ability to speak.]
I feel a shock,
And I fall down,
I look around,
We're on the ground,
The exit doors all come to a close,
As we lay motionless along the ground,
Our circuits have frozen,
This whole resurrected life, [I think they were mentally unwell, but when they went to the Doctor to fix it, they died in the process, and were revived as Protos.]
Is not the life we had chosen,
But my hope is not all lost,
If someone outside here knows,
And so I send a message out before the final door closes,
A signal sending S.O.S. to those not enclosed in this nightmare. [WE NEED A SONG CALLED S.O.S. THAT TAKES PLACE DIRECTLY AFTER THIS ONE AND IS ABOUT SOMEONE FINDING ALL THE PROTOS WORKING MINDLESSLY PLEASE I NEED IT]
[If I had to guess the theme of this song, it would have to do with the existential consequences of uploading your consciousness, or the morality of employing people 24/7, who are effectively slaves you can crush at a snap of your fingers. Probably the best song Ivy has made. At this rate, Ivy is going to be making good songs so fast that they consume the top 10 songs out at all times.]
This is my favorite ivy comb song and now sits at the top of my Playlist lol
Same lol
좋은 명곡이 왔구만
I loved every second of this stranger. This might be what I was looking for
Upphh🔥🔥🔥
Uhhh🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
IVYCOMB, THIS IS GOLD. Please, a sequel would be amazing!!,
CYBERNETIC HEART is the next in a series of songs that are narratively linked.
That’s a lot of words to bad I’m not reading them, but actually why are you making this comment so long about the lore of furry songs
@@toastthepug4975 there is a lot of lore
Yo... This is by far the best one I ever heard! This fits so well with the Protogen Lore! :3
I like the ANTIVILLIAN reference there
I missed this song when it was live because I was on a plane.😢

How many words per minute is 2:17 ?
Definitely more than one since it's less than a minute long.
356. 89 words said in 15 seconds from 2:10 to 2:25 (start and end of rap section)
Also, from 2:17 to 2:25 it is 345 WPM.
Thanks
Woah, this is super cool, I had forgotten how dark protogen lore actually was until I saw this. The music was super cool!
Ah it as seem that the transplant was a success
awesome!
1:53 I immediately recognized the antihuman tune
This is actually amazing, I got recommended it today and just... Good job Ivycomb.
This song is the best for Protogens and other robotic/cybernetic furries.
Somehow a rabbit hole into cybernetics brought me to this...
and I'm here for it! 💃🕺
I fr gonna do this tomorrow for the furry music series >:3 (if you upload it to Apple Music)
