    • @zennihilator3724
      @zennihilator3724 9 місяців тому +13

      How? KG better shooter, more range, better handles, better face-up off the dribble game and better passer... Duncan was just stronger and wider which allowed him to play with his back to the basket and absord contact better around the paint, but i don't know how that made his game more 'polished'...

    • @ArcadianGenesis
      @ArcadianGenesis 9 місяців тому +18

      @zennihilator3724 Tim had more post moves and better foot work. He always knew how to get to his spots, and he had a move and countermove for every situation.

    • @zennihilator3724
      @zennihilator3724 9 місяців тому +13

      @@ArcadianGenesis Perhaps, but to me the key factor was that Duncan simply had more mass, which is an essential component in being able to establish beneficial position down low and finish through bumps and contact... Garnett was simply too skinny to pound down low which was the meta game in the late 90s and early 2000s when KG was at his peak... He was probably 25 pounds lighter than Duncan and generally built like a SF...
      Hence why a lot of KG's arsenal of post moves featured various set-ups that ended in a tournaround jump shot... His ability to use footwork and spin over either shoulder and shoot effecitvely over the defense was better than Duncan... But he didn't get nearly as many easy opportunites to score down low like Duncan could with his mass, which is why ultimately Duncan was able to be more efficient. It was not necessairly because he was more 'skilled', it's just he was better built for the inside game and developed the post moves and hooks shots to complement it, which Garnett couldn't because he couldn't get in deep enough positions to use hook shots etc.
      I think if Garnett was in his prime in like the mid 2010's, when the game moved away from a slow-paced post-centric offense with 2 Big man on the court, to a game with more space, more pace we'd seen an even better version of him... Which is scary to think, because this dude won the MVP in 2004 playing a brand of basketball on offense that left a lot on the table for a guy with his skillset.

    IIRC, the Timberwolves and the Spurs tied their regular season faceoff (2-2).
    This fourth and final meeting ends San Antonio's mini-winning streak and one of few taints of that strong run into catching Dallas with the league's best record.
    The Wolves had a brief lead over the Lakers in the first round (2-1). That would be "alarming" if not David Stern announced few days before the start of postseason first round has also become a best-of-seven affair. That series concluded as KG's seventh consecutive first round exit.
    San Antonio dealt with Phoenix, a Spur headcase (Suns winning regular season match 3-1), with a hard-earned 4-2 series win (first round), then dethroned the Lakers all the way to franchise's 2nd "Larry".

    Wish KG would've been able to square off against Duncan with an actual team... looking at this game, it's laughable looking at who's with Duncan (Tony Parker, ginobli, David Robinson, Steve Jackson, bowen , etc) and who's with KG (szerbiak, Anthony peeler, Joe Smith lol)... by the time he went to Boston he wasn't the same player

    Social isolation is a state of complete or near-complete lack of contact between an individual and society. It differs from loneliness, which reflects temporary and involuntary lack of contact with other humans in the world.[1] Social isolation can be an issue for individuals of any age, though symptoms may differ by age group.[2]
    Social isolation has similar characteristics in both temporary instances and for those with a historical lifelong isolation cycle. All types of social isolation can include staying home for lengthy periods of time, having no communication with family, acquaintances or friends, and/or willfully avoiding any contact with other humans when those opportunities do arise.

    My hot take is we'd be talking about KG as the best PF ever if him and Duncan swapped teams. There wasn't anything Duncan could do that KG couldn't. Duncan was more technical as KG was athletic was the only difference in playstyles. Both great defenders and both had a nice outside game and post up. Then to their franchises. KG was paired with mediocre coaches and locker room divas and cancers in Marbury and Sprewell and Duncan got a mentor in Robinson and got a no bullshit coach in Pop with a core that grew into all stars.
