    I really appreciate these videos. It's cool seeing people doing these trails in normal-ish vehicles. Not everybody is on 37s with front and rear lockers. I'm in Colorado and these vids are really inspiring me to hit up some trails in my tacoma. Subbed!

    Just catching up with many of your vids. I'm new to Jeep and just bought a '22 Cherokee Trailhawk with plans to put a 2" leveling kit and 32's on it. I am constantly impressed with what Sean can do in his Trailhawk! Thanks!

      Dylan Gardner Thanks man! Well, Sean is a big part of this channel so I think you’ll be seeing a lot more of his. Also Zach (Black KL) makes a return appearance in the video after next (Slaughterhouse Gulch) so hopefully he’ll be in more too! Also, the Colorado Adventurer who commented below has a white KL and will likely come along in a future trip or two! Heck, I might even get a KL as a second Jeep 😂. Well I really appreciate it... I don’t quite know how to market my videos, but I hope they’re useful and find an audience with people like you! If you know of people that may like it, feel free to share it!
      I definitely like making them and it’s forcing me to do more than my usual favorite trails (which I haven’t even done yet since they’re still snow covered). Well, I appreciate your support, thank you!

    Hey bud nice video I'm the guy driving the red 2nd gen 4runner at like 4 mins, found out shortly after that rock that my cross member was about to fall out... Tightened that bad boy up and did way better the next day! Thanks for the great video/advice!

      Great to hear!! Yea, I’ll admit I was surprised you had trouble, but was going on what I thought I heard you say about needing a regear. Still, you were awesome and I loved watching you go after it! Glad to hear all you needed was a little tightening and thanks for checking out the video! I know we passed you on Hackett (I’m editing it now) so I’ll see if I caught it on GoPro (if I did, I can probably put in a caption explaining your Cross member).

    Really good video. No worries on the commentary it was fine. Considering a Cherokee Trailhawk it looked pretty capable-is it lifted at all or just tires?

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  4 роки тому

      Thanks for checking it out and I appreciate that! It has like a 2in lift with 29.5in tires. He’s beefing it up for our future trails though... but it’s definitely a capable rig. The lift is just to help his approach and departure angles a bit.

      I follow Outlaw 923 and definitely recommend his channel! We will eventually run a trail together, but because I focus on trail guides, my videos take longer to film. I don’t like subjecting that on others who just want to run the trail. Colorado4x4 and trail traveler are good Colorado Jeep trail channels too!

  • @FearlessTrailhawk
    @FearlessTrailhawk 4 роки тому +2

    Fun trail! That was a tiny little sign for the county line if it was "closed". Local knowledge is always nice to have though! I would never dream of adding that much weight to the very top of a KL...these things rely on being tippy...and that makes it worse!
    I liked all the commentary, was much better than all the text boxes! Only complaint is it sounded like you were trying to be too dramatic the whole time. Take the way you are talking for your little 'outro' bit and use that as more of a template to how to talk for the commentary, just be your normal self and let it flow. Just talk...if you make a mistake or don't like how it flowed, you can always edit the audio!
    Also, think about adding all those time stamps into the description, or people have to keep jumping back and forth to see what the timestamp is that they want to watch.

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  4 роки тому +1

      Unfortunately, it’s confusing for most of us. The trail is supposed to be a loop through the river and connect with part 2, Hackett Gulch. Many still run it like that, but the forest service camps out on the loop and gives out tickets. There’s no signage at the river crossing either and I love water crossings (so it was hard to watch others do it from the bank). Generally the Colorado Springs wheelers say you can go to the river but not to cross it. That’s what we were going on as there’s no place to turn on the county line without going off trail. However, the guide books and trails offroad stick to the actual county line as the end points of their guides so I pointed it out. I likely won’t wheel this again until the loop is restored as it’s stupid to cut off the trail at the county line without providing a turning around spot. Sean uses that tent a lot, but he still seems to wheel it like the beast it is. I don’t think his is actually that heavy, but he’ll likely take it off when we do Mt. Blanca and Holy Cross later this summer, otherwise he should be ok.
      I’m very introverted so narrating and being on camera isn’t easy for me. However, I love off roading and I get excited about doing it. That narration was just excitement about sharing this trail with others. Still that was my first ever attempt at narration. I’ll likely try different things until I find something that works well... but it’ll take time through trial and error. I don’t know how to edit audio yet, but it’s on my long list of things to learn about making videos.
      I had trouble uploading (was supposed to be last night), got it to go before work this AM as I had people waiting on it. I just haven’t been home yet but I gotta add a lot to this video once I get home. Anyway, thanks for the insights and for watching this one!

    • @FearlessTrailhawk
      @FearlessTrailhawk 4 роки тому +1

      @@coloradomallcrawlers I was hoping for Holy Cross last year, but that fell through. As much as i want to do it this year i don't think i'll be able to swing it on the Moab trip. (1 week isn't very much time when you have to factor in driving 2 days on each end)
      I attempted to get some people to join me while i was in CO last year, but was met with absolute hate. There is a difference between wheeling a harder trail with people who want to see you succeed, and wheeling with someone who wants to see your rig destroyed!
      As much as i was looking forward to being the first KL to do it, i'm anxious to see how y'all do!
      As to the editing, you are progressing, and it shows! Audio is easier than video, imo, as all you have to do is listen to it, and just like editing video, cut out the bits you don't like, then blend the remainder together to where it still sounds natural. Most of my commentary is all sorts of cut up, as i just talk until i get something that sounds decent, then cut out all the bad parts.

    • @coloradomallcrawlers
      @coloradomallcrawlers  4 роки тому +1

      Fearless Trailhawk It’s definitely a concerning trail especially since it has gotten worse in recent years. I want nothing more than to see Sean succeed, but I absolutely don’t want another door incident or worse. We might scope it out with Kerry, the trail traveler, when it opens as he’s on 37s. I’ll say, I’m concerned myself and I usually think everyone over exaggerates difficulty, but Holy Cross is probably not an over exaggerated. I definitely need new tires before I run it. Mt. Blanca is probably over exaggerated due to the pucker factor and Jaws 2. Anyway, we’d definitely support you if you wheeled with us! We have good people here, now, some of the big rigs think we’re crazy but then we just walk up the tough obstacles so that helps. However, that’s the point of making these videos. I want to inspire stock wrangler owners to go play with it as well as show people how good the Cherokee is!
      I’m using Ferrite for the narration and I believe it has some decent editing tools. I’m staying home this weekend so I’ll likely watch some videos on using it. Likely will keep the same style for Hackett and Metberry since it’s a 3 parter, but I’ll try something different on whatever we run next. Probably slaughterhouse and rainbow falls since they’re currently open as far as I know. Thanks again!

      I’m announcing trails via my personal Facebook page as it’s all last minute. We will plan some trips too… but I may not have a lot of spots for those as those have the full regular crew. My last minute trails usually have spots tho, especially weekday trail days. Weekend trails are getting a bit insane… I announced yankee hill about 30hrs before doing it and was turning people away. However, I want to wheel with everyone, I just don’t have a lot of time.
