This continues to be the most under appreciated channel on UA-cam. The amount of effort involved in getting a five second clip is outstanding. Hopefully you really take off soon. You should definitely be 100k+
I just wish he interacted in the comments a bit more. I know he is busy, but at least once a week replying to a few here and there would be nice. I reply to every comment I get on my videos.
Creeping up on 50K subscribers! Maybe then the UA-cam algorithm will get this channel the much wider viewership it deserves? As hundreds have said over the years, the content here is top shelf.
Awesome episode. When I was 12 I went to Creede with my grandparents, 35 years ago. Just like I remembered. Small little town right between the mountains. Now I have to go back.
The campground at the beginning of this video is perhaps the prettiest campground you've shown in a video. I wouldn't have left until someone ran me off!
So happy to see you with Organic food !!! Drinking orange juice... yeah buddy. God bless you Chris... Now we just need to up video production to AT LEAST 2 times a week...😁
Well done Kris. I’ve never really appreciated just how much effort you put into the audio of your videos. Most overlay theirs with music but you go to incredible lengths to let nature sounds ring through. My wife upgraded our internet and bought us a second hand iPad Pro so we can now watch your uploads on a big screen and in 1080HD clarity. Thanks for all your efforts and stories. Love your production quality.
True. Less is more. Most of my (millennial) generation won't understand it because growing up we have always need a random background noise like TV in the house. Yet, I am here for the sound of silence in the gaps and the sounds of nature in the video.
I was in Gunnison back in 2005 for the Mile Hi Jeep Club's All 4 Fun rally. I think I was one of maybe two Toyota drivers. :) That week long event was a blast and I met a lot of nice people. The trail runs were fantastic too. Hotter than s* you know what during the day and almost cold enough for frost each night. Glad to see you are back on the move Chris. Always enjoy your videos without the background music that just about everybody has on their videos. It's great being able to here your Jeep working the trails. Take care.
Chris: another great video. Out of the hundreds of Overlanders out there, your videos capture the essence of what being in nature is all about. Your cinematography is spot on. Why you don’t have 500k subscribers is beyond me. Thank you for sharing your journey. Because of you and Jason from Primal Outdoors, I have ordered a RTT and starting my journey into Overlanding with my wife. You are an inspiration to many. I’m looking forward to visiting a fraction of places you’ve been . Keep up the great work. Safe travels from CT.
Too hard to pick a top 10 video from you Chris as they are all amazing in their own way....but surely this one would make a "Top 10 " Venture4WD episode. Thank you for sharing these with us.
What a super super video camera work was a one and just spending the time with you taking us all these places I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart🙏
@@mtnbound2764 That's not what I would call problem, but routine. I travel across counties and countries, and of course my fishing activities always follow local regulations, including permits, fees, calendar/dates, plus chemical disinfection of any used fishing equipment (using Virkon-S thoroughly against the salmon paracite Gyrodactylus salaris at the border every time I return to Norway), same with my packraft, paddle and any other equipment that has touched freshwater abroad, etc. All information required is online, and fees are usually by online payment. ...Still no problem, just discipline and routine (and both become second nature).
I’m glad you got out of Arizona. The virus seems to be winning there right now. I’d love to see more of Colorado myself. Stay safe my friend. OIIIIIIIO
I am loving your videos from Colorado. I have lived here 10 years, I get out and explore (a lot), I've even spent a lot of time around Gunnison & Creede and it amazes me how much I haven't seen yet. I hope you're enjoying your time here as much as I do.
You can get some slide-on stern fins for that inflatable pack raft and it will track way better (nose will stay pointed at one spot while you paddle). They look like surfboard fins and you just glue on the base so you can remove the fins to roll up the raft for storage.
Beautiful. We visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Part last year after Easter Jeep Safari. Awesome landscape and scenery. Safe travels and God Bless!
Chris I’m really enjoying taging along on your adventures, it’s refreshing to see a “normal” Jeep going on great trails. I’ve been meaning to read up on your Jeeps equipment listing as I’m still shopping for my first, having wanted one for a couple of years now. Looking forward to next weeks adventure... I’ve begun watching your older videos from when you’d first started this adventure, interesting how far you’ve come since that time and all of the different locations visited. I’ve been to several places you’ve been, unfortunately the comments are turned off on your older videos.
I've been watching your channel for well over a year and enjoy it a lot. Had a very strange moment when I swear we crossed paths on 24/285 near Buena Vista last week (if you have dashcam video, look for a tiny 19ft airstream at the stop light). It was strange in the sense that after watching you on youtube for so long, that it felt normal to just see you on the road. Anyway, keep exploring and venturing 4wd for all of us.
I always carry a spare key in a small money belt with side loops, attached to my belt and slipped down my pants. Very secure, no worries about accidental loss, pickpockets, etc. As extra security, I also keep a second credit card and cash in the money belt.
Absolutely uncanny........I have taken that route a few times in the past, and like you, usually opt out on campgrounds. But I stumbled on to those sites along the creek this May, and with two other rigs, we "needed" to shut it down for the day. Spruce #5 and the one right next door. Some nice brookies in that creek, and my portable hummingbird feeder was getting hammered. We left a nice donation for the vol group that tends to the area. Love clear creek falls. Worth the time needed to scramble down for some good photos.
Awesome video as always! Every video you see on UA-cam of different places that has pine trees shows them about all dead. Look at 1:02, 1:24 and 3:38 on your video. Some of the places I fly fish in Wyoming has 90% of the trees dead. Our forests are being completely taken out by the pine beetle or I assume it is the pine beetle.
Wonderful video, Chris! I use to backpack in the San Juan Mountains when I owned property in Pagosa Springs. When I first bought the land there was hardly anything or anyone around. Californians found out about the available land and how inexpensive it was. After the multiple gold courses were built I sold the land as it got ridiculously crowded and the simplicity of cabin living no longer existed. What you found near Salida is paradise but I feel that in 20 years that too will succumb to human greed. Sorry to vent, Chris. I know that feeling you had while sitting on the alpine lake in your Rogue. It's an amazing feeling of accomplishing a long awaited goal. Well done!
Chris, Very nice to have met you in Buena Vista. Your content rocks...Keep doing what you are doing . we love watching your show. PS. Somehow we ended up in Moab this week.
I've binged nearly all of your videos this year. Some i've even already seen. Something very calming about following your vlogs. You've inspired me to start filming my own little adventures. Cheers man! Stay safe (whatever that means)
I try and make it a habit that I roll down the window a decent amount before I exit it, for any small task where i might leave it running, such as opening a gate to drive thru. Vehicles do weird things and I know what its like to want to throw a rock into a window to get in. 😂
Hey Chris, My husband and I always look forward to your videos. We appreciate all of the effort and creative talent that goes into each video. We were so excited to see this video especially because we love the area that you are in. We own property in Lake City, CO. and we highly recommend the jeeping and hiking on the Alpine Loop.
Chris, I have concealed a second ignition key under my bonnet amongst the engine in a black magnetic holder so even if I lose all my keys I always have one with the car.
I was thinking when you showed that last waterfall what a perfect opportunity for a quick shower. Lol then i remembered your in Colorado that waters probably like ice haha. Cool video c-ya next week stay safe bud
at 11:05 what kind of pizza bread and cheese are you using? Beautiful country. Again you need a fishing rod and reel. Fresh fish for dinner. Always keep your keys in your pocket. Great photography. how is the heater doing? Thanks
Just a beautiful scenery you got there Chris but one thing I suggest you do is get yourself an extra key hide it somewhere in the Jeepers under the Jeep somewhere also I have a truck that the door key doesn't start the truck so you may need one key for the ignition and one key for the doors if that's the case I did the ignition key somewhere inside your truck just in case you lose your keys or something happens like your doors lock automatically. Looking forward to your next video👍👍😀🛅
Wow, what an awesome spot by the lake..... I'm Jelly.... but you needed bacon to go with the breakfast, just saying.... Yum!!! You an inspiration...keep it going!
Hi Chris, I love your videos, I have seen all of them and although there are other people who do something similar, nothing is comparable to your work, congratulations, good job !!
I love exploring the trails between Creede and Lake City in my Jeep. My family has been vacationing there since 1936. We still have the family cabin in Creede. I will be up there the first two weeks of July and will surely travel the same trails as you up to Phoenix Falls, and North and South Clear Creek Falls. Great video as always.
I went through Creede June 4th and it definitely looked like a ghost town. All locked up. Good to see a few people walking the streets. Silverton was pretty quiet too. North Clear Creek Falls never disappoints.
I have a 'love-hate' for your videos. I so enjoy every week and love what you are doing, but I hate that I can't hit the road full time and do what you're doing yet; we have to stay close to home for weekend trips for now. Thank you for taking the time (I know what it takes to film, edit and upload) to share your experiences every week. You're definitely an inspiration! I worry about your eating habits though...
Awesome channel Chris, the places you go are outstanding. For me, being out in the woods like that seeing wildlife is the best part, hopefully catch them on video soon.
Another great video Chris that I look forward to watching with my Saturday morning coffee. Creede, CO looks like a very cool old town similar to what we have here along H49 in the gold country of California.
I've been really curious about Creede and this was the perfect video to give me a better idea. Now I just can't wait to go there. Thanks for the great work.
I noticed in one of your shots outside of Gunnison, you could see the smoke from the forest fires in Arizona & New Mexico. It is a throat & eye irritate here. The one near Tuscon is the worst. The Gila wilderness area near Silver City, NM is burning too. We are all hoping that the wildland firefighters can make headway on them this week Good to see this weeks video, beautiful scenery to see for the first day of Summer.

the look on your face when you got in the pack raft.. fantastic! legit excitement!
We will head out that way July 2nd for 18 days for cooler temps, fishing, camping and stay off grid for 18 days. living the good life!

Creede Colorado and this area of the Gunnison are the best. Enjoy your stay
You definitely should pack a fishing pole with you for spots like that! I bet the fishing there is awesome 👌
problem is then you have to make sure youve got a permit and follow the laws of whatever state you happen to be in.

It’s a fishing “rod”. A pole is something a girl dances on!
I have been saying that since he was in Newfoundland & Labrador. He could eat nutritiously for the cost of a fishing license.

I'm sure non-resident fishing licenses would get pricey, but DAMN! I'd have a pole in so many of those lakes and streams you camp next to!
A 3 day non-resident fishing license is fairly cheap.
