Wooden SCOOP / How to / Woodworking

- In this project I make wooden scoops from an ancient oak beam from a local farmhouse. I need those scoops for feeding my chickens. I finished one just with my homemade foodsafe wax, and for the other one I give a try with "shou sugi ban" (charred wood technique) which I think leaves a very interesting looking. Will definetly use it again for a further project.
I hope you enjoy this project. Leave your comments and questions. I’ll be pleased to answer all of them.

WoW
Thanks!
My bandsaw has the same problem, can't get enough tension on the blade to stop that wandering. :)
I'm not an expert on bandsaw tuning so I think that with a better adjustment could perform better. Also with a better saw blade (in this project I use the stock blade, which is kinda cheap). Anyway this is a small bandsaw with 300w and still handles a piece of bog oak at 92mm think which I think it's more than I could expect from it.
My saw is the same size. From what I have read the problem is more with thicker blades, they need a lot more tension to stop the blade wobble that causes the ripple effect on the wood. I'm swapping out mine for a 5mm 1/4" one.
Will follow your advice. The stock blade is 7mm. Regards!
😃👍👊
I will be making one of these. On a side note, what breed is the all black with the orange breast? I hatched a few of the same chicks and not sure o the exact breed. I have a welsummer Rooster and the hen was either a barred rock or a red comet. Thanks!
Thanks mate! About breed chicken I'm sorry but I don't know much about them. I just feed them with eco seeds and they deliver quite excellent big eggs. Regards!
Nice. Just asking can i use a wood restore finish as a wood finish.
Thanks. What kind of restore finish are you thinking about?
I would like to do it on a wooden ring but i would to use a restor-a-finish as a wood finish
Don't know about that finish at all. But you can always try and see how it performs. I'll love to hear from your experience with it. Regards!
Yo me decanto por el natural en vez del achicharrado jajajaja saludos
Jajaja a mi me gustan ambos por igual.
what is the name of the material you applied finaly on the wood?
It's a homemade food safe wax. I show the whole making process in a precious video. Check it if you want.
@@woodworkingbarcelonaii9413 Thank you for this good project and reply.
You're very welcome! Thanks for your comment mate!
Can you make a wooden fidget spinner?
Thanks for your comment but I'm not planing to make one. Regards!
