Omg that is a total therapy session for me too!!! I am the one who loves crying when I need to confront with my husband and I always thought I have problem! Thanks Sherry soooo much !

omg I can relate to this as it happened to me when I went to a few job interviews! There was one company, she ask me to do enneagram personality test after I have completed the job training. After submitting the results of the personality test, she told me my personality did not match the rest of the employees. I was speechless. How can someone hire an employee based on this test? It seems like people are using these for the wrong reason.
Oh gawd! That sounds really frustrating! Can't believe they made you take the test and then said you didn't match. It's so unfair to judge someone's fit for a job based on a personality test. These tests shouldn't be used to make hiring decisions like that!😰🥺
I am a psychology enthusiast, and I have a question about the MBTI. While studying the MBTI, I found that it is not widely recognized by psychologists. Though it is based on Carl Jung's theory and was once acknowledged in psychology, it has lost credibility due to a lack of robust scientific evidence for its reliability and validity. Studies show that its type categories are not consistently reproducible, raising concerns about test-retest reliability. Additionally, the MBTI's dichotomous nature is seen as overly simplistic compared to modern personality research. As a result, the MBTI is not generally accepted as a scientifically valid tool within psychology. However, Sherry, (she seems like providing counselling service though I'm unsure if she is a registered counselor, would like to know that), and small fraction of psychologists supports the MBTI. I'm curious why Sherry and this minority support the MBTI despite its lack of mainstream acceptance. Is there any scientific basis for their differing perspective?
Hi fellow psychology enthusiast, I was informed about your message, and I believe it warrants a detailed response. The notion that there are no debates within any psychological theories or instruments might be an overstatement. Psychology, as a field, has continuously evolved, and throughout its history, there have always been opposing views. This diversity of perspectives is welcomed by the community as it propels us forward. Regarding the instrument in question, which you mentioned is not accepted by most psychologists, I learned about it during my time at Teachers College, Columbia University. This indicates that at least my professors consider it a useful tool when applied appropriately. While I do not believe the MBTI is perfect, as an organizational psychologist, I have witnessed its effectiveness in aiding personal development in leaders and enhancing team communication. I am not a counselor or therapist, but in the video, my aim was to provide insight into the instrument, help the hosts understand their relationship dynamics, and coach them toward better communication. For your inquiry about the reliability and validity of the instrument, I have two videos that might address your questions in detail. One features the MBTI company, and the other includes a neuroscientist. ua-cam.com/video/Z2gzCHc27LY/v-deo.htmlsi=YhxGZwBs_DVN5E7A ua-cam.com/video/W6Sv6ut4dW8/v-deo.htmlsi=nOUCOWYThm31GQiC I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for taking the time to draft a comprehensive message, as it provides me with the opportunity to elaborate on points I may not have covered in the interview.
@@sherrysnotesofficial I’m really happy that you addressed my doubts. I completely understand and agree that there are different schools of thought in psychology. I also see psychology as somewhat related to philosophy and trying to absorb different views. I appreciate your patient and thorough response. I’ll definitely check out the videos you recommended.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a pseudoscientific self-report questionnaire that's used to indicate differing "psychological types". ☺️☺️ If you are interested in MBTI, Sherry (the guest) explained it very well in this episode. Go check it out!💙

Sherry 😆❤
