An inverting top hat instead of this wing over first element is a missed opportunity. However I do think this is a much needed decent capacity smooth ride for the park.
Top hats are for companies that make launches with unintentional rollbacks
This is going to be a great addition to the park. Coaster looks fantastic, theming looks great, interaction with the pathways is awesome...really looking forward to it!

It's about time America gets another wing coaster. We haven't had a new one since Thunderbird at Holiday World in 2015.

Other than minor design choices, I think it's a great coaster.

It looks great. It will really add to the energy in the Jungle Expedition area.
My only sort of negative thought is less about the coaster and more about Kings Dominion's identity crisis. The park has such a lopsided layout (unlike its sister in Ohio) and from an aesthetics standpoint it's often nice but also a bit of a mess. They really need to fix up the park appearance in some odd pockets such as behind Jungle Expedition from Anaconda to I305, as well as the area between the carousel and Twisted Timbers, the area from the north side of Planet Snoopy to Dominator and ESPECIALLY the parking lot and entrance. What does this have to do with the new coaster? Only the fact that it exaggerates that difference because it further improves a good looking area while nothing changes with the ugly areas.
Hopefully, they'l move on to those other areas soon. And hopefully they do something to fix the bizarre lopsided layout and connect certain areas that ought to connect and do more to fill in the west side of the park.
They probably will after Project 305.
@@grandjohn when you say "after Project 305" are you referring to plans to redo the plaza or the area around the ride? I had not heard of any plans so far. That said, that area DESPERATELY needs a face lift and a new look.
Ideally they'd also add attractions behind that area wrapping behind the water park to add a back expansion that connects I305 with with Apple Zapple and Twisted Timbers.
@@zacg_ Its more of a prediction. If P305 is getting a retheme, I feel like they would want to theme the rest of the area, instead of having 2 well themed areas, and then this dead zone in the center.
@@grandjohn I hope you're right. I305 (I still won't move on with the title until I'm more certain that the name is permanent) is a truly world class coaster but it is not well presented or nicely situated. I wouldn't expect them to do anything dramatic with a retheme like adding on ride theming or anything like that. But it would be nice to add a better plaza and station. Heck I'd love to see a bit more landscaping in the field or even a tunnel at some point. No one is asking for it to be given an Expedition Everest style show building. But that ride and that whole area could really do with some aesthetic work.
Personally, I'd prefer that they redo Backlot Stunt Coaster and give it a sci-fi theme and then give I305 a sci-fi theme as well. I think it wouldn't be hard and it could be quite cool. Then remove Anaconda and replace it with something cool and fitting like a new Vekoma and give it a sci-fi theme. I'm just saying it would be easier to build off of the theme for Flight of Fear than to make Flight of Fear into some other theme. And then that whole back area would finally make sense and have a cohesive look with potential to be more appealing and eye catching than the current mess.

Looks like fun but also lame at the same time. A missed opportunity for a longer ride for a few extra million for at least a couple those get of track would've been nice. As fast as I know thunderhawk at Holiday world has the longest Wing coaster it there.
The launch looks good, but the elements look weak. Thunderbird and Gatekeeper also have near miss elements which this coaster lacks.

Look, don't get me wrong. This is cool and all, but S&S made the blueprint for wing coasters with X2... Why are all these coasters now fixed seats? Wheres the unique seat spinning elements?
Also the whole ride is under 60 seconds. I wanna be impressed but I'm just not really

This is a wow coaster. Launched wing coasters aren't that common and thunderbird is a great ride so I expect the same for this one.
Spoiler Alert: The name was accidentally leaked yesterday so we already knew what its official name was. But at least we have the actual rendering of the coaster now

What do you mean “wasn’t a major theme park”? This park has I305 which is argued as one of if not the most intense coaster in the world and Twisted Timbers which is a highly esteemed RMC. For the area it’s in this is definitely a high input park

@@infini.tesimo they wouldn’t know what knotts berryfarm is bro. Idk what you think it is but KD and Knotts are from Cedar Fair and are considered smaller parks. And if you ask someone from China they’d probably only say Universal and Disney because name brand that’s all that’s over there
I wish I could just move to Virginia. I would love to see this new attraction at Kings Dominion. I hear it is a great theme park.
@@dewaynepryor-gd5it I used to live in Virginia. While it's not stacked with parks, it's two main parks are quite good. KD is kind of a weird park with an identity crisis but it's got a solid coaster collection (with a world class top two), a great water park, a really good family rapids ride and good flat rides. I personally much prefer BGW which I consider one of the premier theme parks in the USA. The place is beautiful, very well themed, charming, thrilling and it has great shows, food and merch. But you can't go wrong with either park.
I'm sure it'll be fine, but nothing as exciting and innovative as Volcano was.... Over 25 years ago.
Kings dominion gets all the great coasters meanwhile Busch gardens tampa gets a new kid coaster. Then they act like they did something. Busch Gardens Tampa has become TRASH!!!
What about Iron Gwazi? This is our first new coaster since they converted Hurler to Twisted Timbers in 2018. And no, Tumbili the s&s freespin clone doesn’t count. You can count it if you want but it’s not a true coaster.
