Yep, it promotes “negative peace”. Instead, delaying violence with a buffer zone without the authority to negotiate legally binding peace treaties. What needs to happen for true peace is not *just* reactionary peacekeeping, but *additionally* active demilitarization of EVERY sovereign state. While increasing their peacekeeping (military) power (albeit ironically, but necessary) AND increasing the sovereignty over the military. Before conservatives and passive liberals shout one-world-government, I actually think the current UN is too involved in economics with the WTO, IMF, & World Bank. The UN *should* be the entity it was designed to be and PREVENT ALL future warz. If you disagree and think war is needed for the “balance of power” well bye. You should be protesting against the very idea of the UN. Now that it’s clear, how do we achieve this with adequate reforms, without going full big-brother?
