I am doing a climbing wall / loft renovation and the wood and hardware are the biggest costs right now. But every step makes each Home Depot trip worth it.
Got the simple wall plan. Looks like I got something to work on this summer. I'm not planning on mounting this against a wall so I think I will modify the base to extend further back to provide more support.

would this design work for a larger wall? like an 8x10 or 8x12? or would it be too heavy?
It would need to change a bit but I think it would work.
What kind of winch did you use?
A 1200 lbs electric hoist.
This one is a little lighter duty but would still get the job done and it has a wireless remote
