Rewiring RNA export to protect against transposons

Mostafa ElMaghraby, PhD student in the Brennecke Lab, explains how the cell rewires RNA export to protect genome integrity. Recent findings that were published in the journal Cell show how a small RNA pathway utilizes and re-purposes preexisting building blocks in the cell to protect against genome-parasites.
