Hey you guys I don't know if you are fans of the Showtime show Ray Donovan but the actor playing Gus Russo played an excellent role, also as a New York city cop, in the last season of Ray Donovan!! A similar dynamic which is my guess as to why he was cast for this part in Reacher!! I've seen him in something else where he actually had hair😂
@@strife1011 I'd say they books are a little bit better, especially after the first few, where the plots were great, but he was still developing his craft as a novelist. (he was awfully obsessed with describing women's bodies early on) It's as accurate as anything being translated from book to movie. Season 1 was pretty accurate except Neagley wasn't in that book, and it was the father, not the son who was the Big Bad. This one seems pretty accurate so far, except for some reason they moved the location from LA and Las Vegas in the book, to NY and AC in the show.
the actress who plays Neagley is a danish actress who was Miss Denmark Universe in 2008. They have her dressed down, but she is a straight up smoke show when she wants to be.
She is gorgeous. I find her far more attractive than the actress playing Duxon. And Dixon is also beautiful, just not in the same league as Maria Sten.
"Why would you turn so soon after being spotted?" - Because you don't want someone to get your license plate #. If you go straight they might be able to read it, but if you make a quick turn, there's no chance unless they can run you down.... like Reacher did. hehehe
The "10 days earlier" scene was the first scene in the book. He starts laughing before being dumped and said: "You have no idea the hell that's coming your way." Then it jumps to Reacher at an ATM. The scene where the group is talking about potential suspects. When they say "Pike?" Reacher says: "No. He's a shooter. Beside I ran into him in Kansas City. He owes me." That line is an encapsulation of the first Tom Cruise "Jack Reacher" movie. (Except the movie takes place in Pittsburgh. The Book is in KC)
Great reaction again, guys. Makes total sense Reacher would be one of your favourite characters. Its because he's so well-drawn. That's what kept the novels going for 26 years, to date. Its all built on the character. No recurring settings or other characters, really. Just him.
I have seen some people that don't like that Alan bulked up this season but I think maybe they did it because they are doing the flashbacks to when he was in the army and he would have probably have been even more of a tank. Its just speculation on my part.
Excellent reactions Nikki and Steven. I read the book this series is on. It reads just like the show. Lee Child is my favourite author. Keep the episodes coming. I’m loving it.
He's gotta be selling it deep with the wife/family at home if that's the case. I like Nixon vibing with Reacher. She has seemed to try to settle down in her life but can't really adjust to it either. But in a more sophisticated way then wandering the earth and correcting wrongs like she's David Carridane in Kung Fu. I just made that connection. My dad watched that series all the time, no wonder he enjoys the Reacher books.
@@Norkkah Actually No. All of them seems surprised that he's married with kids. On top of that.... He don't think he mentions any names nor ages for the kids. Nor do he mention he put them in a safe house.
I haven't watched the reaction yet but I have to comment on the O'Donnell being a "tool' concept. He's part of the original 110th, so he clearly has value, otherwise he wouldn't be part of the team. From the first scene with him, he was setup to be comic relief. Also, he immediately had the idea to message his wife to get an address, so if she was fake, that would be too easy to discover. And we the viewers are new to his family, but most of the team knows about them, just like they knew about Dixon's fiancee. Reacher is the one out of the loop. Nothing O'Donnell has done has put them in jeopardy. If he was working with New Age, he would have found a reason not to be at the house, he wouldn't have killed the hitmen, and he could have let Dixon get shot. But I'm sure your thoughts may change after this episode.
26:28 You're right, you don't watch a lot of comedies...but since you like his acting so much... please make an exception with "Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland"!
(I love the mention of Barr. Just a quick mention...) I think the cop had time to identify himself. Plenty. He'd been following two, then three and then four. He knew about the murder, and he know that these are all connected to the victim. He didn't see them commit any crimes, yet he was following them (and being noticed). When Reacher walks directly towards him - what's that? 60 seconds? - he had PLENTY of time to flash his badge thru the windshield. He chose not to. And HE was the one acting suspicious - they are acting in broad daylight. Anyway... it's all worked out.
Love you reaction to reacher and honestly you try to be on spot towards reacting on every scene and i appreciate that as a Jack reacher fan also you never over do you reaction that makes it cringe. Stay consistent you'll master it. 👊
Death by BBQ/Transfats is the most original end to a Reacher opponent yet! I wonder what AM's fixation on comic books is about? Nice to see Reacher sorta making nice with Russo. He's no Finlay, but he is entertaining for sure
Loving these reactions, guys! I know they are not direct translations to the books (maybe 'cos Tom Cruise bought the movie rights to the whole lot?), but these are really good - and Alan Ritchson is a WAY better JR than TC could ever be! Have you checked out the shorts (Reacher Reports) in the extras? The characters - and even Lee Child himself explain some of the context and details of their characters, there's one for each episode so far (watched the first 5 last night!) - I love the fact that Lee Child is fully behind these stories! You guys are so into these, love your discussions! Subbed for more!😊
I got a two series recommendation: Nr 1: 11.22.63 - based on a Stephen King Novel, fantastic short series. I cried like a baby at the ending and same for everyone I've shown it. Nr 2: FROM - mysterious series but they ask the right questions, you just have no clue what is truly happening. 2 seasons at the moment.
Swan wouldn't let his dog die like that. I'm convinced. He worked for the company and discovered something illegal and went to his 2 friends to help him. All 3 were killed and I think Reacher's friend with the knife is also in it. The hotel room was trashed, he says it was trashed before. He was unavailable due to a family outing. I don't believe any of this. In addition, he corresponds to the stereotypical bad guy who likes to use hidden blades. The typical sneaky shit. And I think Odonell is the connector in the criminal case in the past. Again, it's about weapons. And they're all in the military. That's where you get weapons, lots of them.
I would agree, from the little scene when Reacher grabs O' Donnel and say's "I see your still using brass knuckles, no more switch blade" was filmed like that for later in the series when it comes out that O' Donnel is in on it all.
Yeah, the guys waiting at the airport should at least have been in pairs so they could pretend to be talking to one another. Two solo guys just watching the doorways is super sus.
not sure Franz not fighting to stay alive was the best cause did he even think about his wife and son ? like yes he does not want to give information but also he got a family to be there for ! should remained alive in someway
For the record Trump is a New Yorker. He speaks gruffly and directly, it is the karens of the world that take offense at "how" he speaks instead of what he is saying. So admiring "Guytano" character for his directness is admirable.
I agree O'Donnell is my pick as the bad guy. The clue was in episode 1 for me. When they were follwing Reacher they said she is with the Big guy. And then we found out later on in the episode that it was O'Donnell who gave him that nick name.
I think the guy in the car got the "big guy" meeting with neagley from when before Franz was gonna get thrown off the helicopter franz said the big guy is coming after you
I know this won’t be popular - and in this instance obviously I’m happy Reacher got the ammo he needed. But it kinda highlighted the need for sensible gun control. It’s not always someone with a high moral code of honor-just sayin
Definitely not my favorite book since imo they should have played to the show's strength by focusing on Reacher. I mean they skipped over nine books basically. Ensemble cast just dilutes everything. We want the big guy dishing out the ass whooping not a whole squad. Still watching of course and hoping for a season three with him walking the earth solo again.

It comes up several times in this book that Reacher is not a good runner, and that Neagley always smokes him when they have to run.
Have you read the book? Was thinking about getting them. Are they any good?

Agree, they’re gonna love it,
I think that the perfect word to descibe Reacher's humor is "deadpan"
