    Hope you find this video helpful - I started getting credit cards in 2014 and have since traveled the world using free points, all just using credit card sign on bonuses and points that I got from my credit card purchases. If you have good credit and spending habits, ditch the debit card and check out these cards. They have very solid sign on bonuses right now and you can learn more using the link above. Happy credit card hunting!

    Card 1: Chase Sapphire Preferred
    Card 2: Amex Gold Card

      amex plat sucks. The rewards are "spend money to make money" and the lounges are so packed and no grab and go options so it's almost pointless in a lot of travel situations.

    Very good list. I would agree with you that Chase Ultimate Rewards points are by far the most valuable. I would wait for higher sign up bonuses on the Sapphire Preferred & AMEX Gold. There are often targeted offers on the AMEX Gold. Lastly I would just stuck with the Venture X versus the regular Venture card.

    Use to have a 50k limit venture card with 2m+ annual spend until capital one closed all my accounts for buying crypto once with a card which even charged cash advance . Chase cards are my fav as they almost never decline for security reasons like some others do. My replacement for venture is Fidelity 2% which easily can transfer the rewards to investment accounts

      @Heathfx5 Місяць тому +1

      The fidelity card is a lowkey sleeper of a card with dead-simple perks and automatic cash back as a statement credit and their debit card with ATM fee reimbursement is really nice.

    Love the credit card game. Relatively new but in about a year my partner and I have made out like bandits for our trips this year.
    Flights:
    3 round trip tickets to New York, 1 round trip ticket to Austin for my first Grand Prix, 2 round trip tickets to Vancour.
    Hotels:
    1 Night at the Thompson in NYC, 3 nights at the Hyatt Place Austin, 1 night in Hyatt Regency Houston, 1 night in Hyatt Place Madison, and 3 nights Hyatt Regency in Vancour.
    Our combined annual fees are $440 and since we use them like debit cards and only make purchases within our limits, we've spent $0 on interest. Cannot recommend credit cards enough. IF you're responsible.

    Shop owners actually consider the 3% you are talking about in the goods they sell, thus the price increase. That's why gas stations, etc.. charge you less if you pay cash. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing!

    My advice for those new to the credit card game is to start with one or two credit card(s) preferably with no annual fee and pay it off each month. The credit cards mentioned here are great for travel but have a very high APR. You do not need bougie credit cards with a lucrative welcome bonus or benefits to build credit score. Do your research to see which card fit your needs at this moment.

    • @CharlieChang
      @CharlieChang  3 місяці тому +11

      If people are brand brand new to credit cards, then the Chase Freedom, Freedom Unlimited could be good no annual fee options :) High APR is sorta relevant but I encourage anyone who gets credit cards to never get to the point where they are paying interest. Always pay in full!!

      @@CharlieChang Thanks for commenting, Charlie. I really enjoy your content and videos. Just wanted to share my thoughts as there is no one-size fits-all when it comes to credit cards. It comes down to individual circumstances and priorities, but it is always a good idea to have at least one travel credit card on hand.

    The regular venture with its $95 AF is pointless. If you travel, the VX with its $395 AF is paid for by the $300 credit (+10k yearly points). If you don't travel, just get a 2% catch all card like the citi double cash, sofi, or fidelity card and save yourself $95.

    I've signed up for 2 credit cards over the last month. AMEX gold car and Chase freedom unlimited card. Should I wait a while before I decide to apply for other cards? At what point is it applying for too many credit cards where I become a risky borrower? I've never missed a payment and never will but, I also heard if someone applies for too many in a short period of time it hurts them as well. Any advice because I definitely want to keep taking advantage of other sign on bonuses? Thank you

    • @louisnvrr
      @louisnvrr 3 місяці тому +1

      You want to prioritize chase cards because of their 5/24 status. It's typically recommended to wait between 6-8 months between new credit applications. Companies like Capital One are more credit inquiry sensitive. So if you've applied to the Amex Gold and Freedom unlimited recently, I'd give it a bit before applying for any of their cards.

  • @CadenMichnal
    @CadenMichnal 3 місяці тому +1

    Ok so, Amex gold is best for food. I still can’t seam to find the best card for gass and day to day expenses. It seems that anything above 2x back for day to day spending is unheard of. All points that exceed 2x are always for food, flights and hotels. What card should I get after I get the gold for day to day? After all, I don’t travel enough to justify the other cards quit yet.

    How can you have that many credit cards but still have a credit score over 800? Didn’t all those hard pulls lower your score?
    I applied for (and got approved for) 3 credit cards in about three weeks this year and my credit score went from about 812 to 774.

    • @_bc0297
