      Also the reason he does his squats like that is because his knees are NOT held together by gods will, by shifting forward it lets him transfer more of the load onto his hips on the way up

      His knees are beat up and have gone through surgery. Saying Oly lifting is healthy for the knee joints is like saying boxing is perfectly healthy for the brain. You do what you do to minimize damage, your body can take quite a bit but eventually things will catch up on an elite level.

      @searcher maybe if you have straight knees and ankles. I try atg but I get knee pain though I have very flat feet and pretty substabtial knee valgus. I've recently dropped weight to try and fix my form I'll see what I can do cause I prefer ATG squats.

    Clarence, how did you perfect your technique in all these really complex Olympic lifts? I saw a video where you said you learned on your own and assume that means no formal training. Any certain channels that helped you work on fundamentals?

    I watched a supposedly motivational squat video with pro bodybuilders. Omg squats suits wraps etc, shaking as they walk from the rack and spotters bear hugging them. Also most were doing quarter squats.
    Id like to see these guys train their squats at the same time as one of these pro bodybuilders, put them to shame.

      Why? His knees are pointing right directions, his back is neutral, and that range of motion.that is a beautiful form.what i don't understand is that why there's crossfitt written on the wall.this guy can't be a crossfitter, right?

    • @sergiotl7378
      @sergiotl7378 5 років тому +3

      His form, as you said, is impeccable. However, there's still many uninformed people who believe that ATG squats are harmful for your knees. This guy is an olympic weightlifter, not a crossfitter. But he's training at a crossfit box because that's a very good place to train the olympic lifts. Great quality plates, barbells, platforms, etc...
