Interested in seeing the end result. Essentially you are emulating what happens in an steam turbine generating system but at a much reduced temperature. I assume you will use a small positive displacement pump to transfer the condensed water back to the high pressure/ temperature stage
This is a great proof of concept! At the conference you should add a generator so you can show this under a load - it will really give people the idea of how you can use a tank as a battery and water state-change as the fuel. It would be interesting to know how many watts you can get from a gallon of steam at a given temperature into a good vacuum.
There are massive restrictions in the plumbing.. Think air flow. The exhaust dead heads right into a T fitting.. You need full flow fittings. No right angles or T's, use radius transitions. It would be wise to make ur own from stainless tubing and fittings, use flare instead of ferrules..
back at the turn of the 1900's plumbers were considered to be electricians. transference of energy revolves around a set of basic principles. A good plumber who is worth his salt can find a solution to just about any problem.

I've thought of a repeat cycling steam system that should not need to be stopped and re filled the water and can be left unattended to power a home with an auto feed wood pellet/shaving burner. What if you change the water with a low boiling point gas like ammonia+water mixture like the one they used in Organic Rankine Cycle power generation enclosed in a closed-loop system to improve the vaporization of the liquid and letting the vacuum pull it from the collector condensing tank system through a one-way pressure release valve for continuously feeding the system back to the source. Would it be possible and how long do you think it would stop or stabilize before all the pressure in the system equates?
Good question, I actually used perlite in this video, although haven't really tested it's true power yet. I really want to try your ammonia idea. With a improved Tesla turbine, with metal rotor, it's hard to say what performance we will get compared to this, I just know it will be much better.
Having researched fluids for this project, purified deionised water appears to be the best energy transfer medium due to its critical conditions for vaporisation. Ammonia seems like a good idea except its critical energy level is well below ambient temperatures

Could you possibly make a metal disc, somewhat similar to a bicycle wheel with “spokes” towards the center, then apply layers of carbon fiber on either side encasing the metal wheel. Then possibly put that on the lathe and turn it down so it’s perfectly flat on either side, while leaving enough carbon fiber to still be the outer most layer and just on the outside edge of the disc. That should increase the efficiency of the discs for your TT because it has a better moment of inertia factor. Lighter on the innermost portion while being loaded at the rim more fully. I may be wrong, but that way you could potentially exceed the metals tensile strength because the carbon fiber shell would be holding the metal intact.
Awesome guys, just a thought, you most likely know already I made a single shaft the same way you guys have it years ago make sure that shaft is thick I had lots of balancing problems, vibrations due to the flex of the shaft spinning with the magnet load. The more electric load the more warping I got 👍
Hello, if you want to have a greater vacuum, you must change that square box where the turbine is, with a sphere or ball that can be opened in half and put the turbine inside. The ball will hold much more atmospheric pressure without breaking depending on the material. Well, I asked you a long time ago about what happened to hydrogen when boiling water, remember? yeah, another problem was the large size, we made it smaller and inlayed the connections. It's hard to make something circular like that. My new chamber can take full vacuum without any issues.

there are countless technologies that are not used today because they are too reliable. For example, light bulbs are designed to wear out at a specific time, even though the first lightbulb ever made still works today and has constantly been lit for over 100 years.
Have you guys looked into teslas removal of nitrogen from atmosphere to create flame? You could then use the heat from atmosphere to boil water which could turn turbine. Small devices for each home would be sufficient
Interesting. If I understand this right, it's a similar effect to what powered the old fireless industrial steam locomotives. Instead of a boiler, you had a large, insulated thermos bottle filled with very hot water and a small head of steam. As the cylinders consume the steam, a partial vacuum is created in the thermos and a portion of the hot water flashes into steam, renewing the pressure.
very close, the entire system is in complete vacuum, it works like the criophorous system. We put a turbine in-between the boiler and the condenser. More clear description is on the way.
Yes, direct drive for a generator, but a transmission is not geometrically obvious. Planetary gearing from shaft to transmission looks like the best way.

I love your work. I been trying to figure out a way for off grid renewable energy. This is how I found you. I want to run a steam turbine under vacuum to boil water around 86f and use a hot pool to keep running over night.
Stay tuned because we are extremely close. At this point, I think it will take more then 86f, but we haven't tested the vacuum stage with the turbine in cold steam yet. so it may be possible to run it at 86f

Is the fact that you've kept the disks so small in radius actually sufficient to prevent an unscheduled rapid disassembly? Can you simple attach magnets to the turbine and have coils in the casing to make it a generator. 2 to solve the too much speed problem for a standard alternator can it work just with lower psi until it's at the optimum speed or does that not really work. 3 balancing, I'm planning on making a metal one with laser cut parts stacked together. Yes way more power. As long as you keep the tank warm and you don't have any leeks. The vapor pressure is also removed keeping the pressure in the turbine lower then anywhere in the system as long its moving fast enough there won't be any vapor pressure build up to clog the turbine.
I have vacuum formed carbon fiber disks for a couple of projects in the past. The stiffness for its weight is incredible, 9 inch disks could easily handle 80,000 to 90,000 rpm. The money to vacuform is cheaper than machining steel, also balancing is an order of magnitude easier due to carbon fiber being one tenth or so of steel. I could make some disks for you guys. Where are you guys located?.
Hey there Ben, do you think water will adhere to the surface of the carbon fiber discs like it does to stainless steel? The adherence of water to the surface of the discs is one of the methods of action working in the machine. This would be cool to see!
@@andrewselberg9173 water droplets stick to vertical glass surfaces so I think it would be the same. Also the mold surfaces are not perfect and impart any small imperfections to the epoxy/carbon fiber.
@@nikola.tesla.r.and.d.centre The thinnest carbon fabric I have used is .025. There is probably thinner. Most layups are multilayered so the finished thickness can be varied. I have done layups as thick as .250". Once cured the parts can be machined on a fixture on a lathe to be identical and concentric. Carbon fiber disks weigh almost nothing yet are stiffer than steel. We would have to test it but I would think it would would be ideal. When the rpms get high weight and imbalance kills it. The shaft could be titanium, which is half the weight of steel, it could also be hollow. The whole assembly would have to be dynamically balanced. A 9 or 10 inch turbine at 90,000 rpm would be impressive.

If a magnet was added to both ends of the turbine shaft would that help with Balance? and with added coils you should be able to produce even more electricity from the same turbine. Im following closely with this project and I wish you all the luck and success going forward.

You got it! We got 1kw with a 3" plastic turbine with 110 psi compressed air and small nozzle input. With say 250 degree steam we should get around 6-7kw on our metal turbine 4" rotor and that is truly amazing!

I've been working on similar ideas. Mine also include desalination. I unfortunately had most of my equipment taken by the police cause I was building closed loop extractors for hash oil. Which is where my similar ideas sprouted from. I'd love to share some ideas and don't expect anything. I just want to see the oil companies fall. Man, this really blew my mind though. I mean, me and my roommate have been discussing whether or not enough energy would be removed to create the pressure difference needed. I didn't think it could. I was wrong. So in my idea I envisioned using ocean swell pumps and ocean water for my heart sink. Guess that isn't needed😆 Dude, desalinate ocean water that's solar heated. Then electrolysis so you can get hydrogen. Also a great energy storage. And with storing heated water, vacuum jacket your vessel like a dewar.
@@iEnergySupply In my experience pex wouldn't hold a vacuum. I switched to metal pipe. 304SS 3/8" cause I could bend it with a pipe bending spring. I think you'll need bigger diameter though. So you'll probably have to cut and braise. I also considered that maybe you are using different pex connections. I was using the copper clamp rings. Which hold pressure but don't do so well with vacuum. Maybe I clamped one wrong and that was my issue though also. But yeah, switching to metal pipe might give you the seal you want. In my closed loop experiments a perfect seal is absolutely necessary because the butane is flammable when mixed with air in ratios between 1200 ppm and 470,000 ppm. So when you get the system below the barometric pressure a leak draws in air. Making it dangerous. And when it's above barometric pressure it pushes butane out, also making it dangerous. Check out glacier tanks. They have a bunch of cool stainless stuff meant to hold pressure and vacuum.
@@iEnergySupply Also, have you considered a different working fluid? Ammonia is generally safe and accessible and it's boiling point is -23°F at 1 ATM. But you'll HAVE to solve your vacuum leaks. I saw another video, don't know if it was you, but the guy had ice form on the Tesla turbine/ pump. Which broke it. I do believe that the freezing point of water is problematic because of that. You won't have that problem with ammonia. Allowing you to reach much higher RPMs. And you can get the temperature so low on the exhaust side that it's itching to pick up heat from anything.
Awesome stuff. From what i have read about tesla turbine efficiency research the main inefficiency is in the nozzles. While the rotor it self is really efficient as long as you get the spacing and rotor thickness right for the fluid used.
So it enters the turbine as a steam and leaves as a liquid. Is that correct? Does this not do damage to the turbine because it uses disks instead of blades or because it uses plastic instead of metal?

Everything is clear to me about the Tesla turbine and about the air magnetic bearings as well. Great solutions ... !!! What bothers me are the missing parameters is the boiler with "cold steam". I did not understand that in your presentation, except that a little pressure is needed for high speed. I would ask you for a couple of answers because in the whole process it is a very important thing as a fuel that drives the turbine. What must be the capacity of the boiler to be able to operate 24 hours a day and turn the turbine at 80,000 rpm? How much energy does it take to charge to full capacity? Would a more cold boiler steam be a solution to continuous operation 24/7 as an accumulation of energy that we can get from the sun, wind ...? I am also interested in the price of Tesla's turbine, tank and air-magnetic shaft? I would like, with your permission, to use your solutions and products in the final energy unit for small households that will provide electricity and heat of 5-10 kw. Very Easily .. A Small Generator With a Transmitter/Transducer in the range you which to transmit the power inside the box ... outside of the box would be a tuned pickup receiver to receive the transmitted energy ... Very similar to a wireless phone charger , it would also be highly efficient and effective .

I was wandering, imagine creating energy with a Stirling Engine cooled by a constant stream of water, that stream could reaching really fastly boiling point or closely below boiling. Than I thought it would be very simple at this point to using it for a tesla for generating a small but conspicuous amount of power and than re circulating it below ambient temperature as active cheep coolant. Than I saw other videos mentioning that the Turbine can go with just 70° C and there are some beautiful fountains to cooling down the water even more... It seems like the paradise for Green energetic production.

I can't seem to find it, I've been through hundreds of his articles i'll find it eventually and sight it in my videos. Although there are two specific articles he mentions it in, his comments about the vacuum are rare.
I think i have a solution for the storage of the heat. Sodium acetate which is is used in rechargeable hand warmers. They need to be taken above about 60c for the chemical reaction to take place where they change from crystals to a liquid. They are then cooled down to room temperature bit they remain as a liquid. The reaction can be reversed at will by introducing a tiny bit of crystallised solution and an exothermic reaction takes place. For the cooling bit you could use the energy for something that needs energy instantly to minimise losses. I think you should be able to recover nearly all the heat energy. There are far stronger chemicals but not ones the average person wants to be messing with such as sodium hydroxide which is extremely corrosive.

So let me get this straight: You could heat up water/ammonia mix using vacuum tubes on the roof send it to hot storage tanks, then when you need power*(1) open valve to telsa turbine which rotates powering a little generator on the shaft of the turbine which then outputs cold water/ammonia vapour that you could integrate into cooling/refrigeration then back into the vacuum tubes to heat up again or would it need condenser tanks? 1. Would the system be able to support powering capacitors which then feed appliances directly or would it have to be paired with an existing solar PV & battery setup? Very very cool way to store energy just think how much lithium/conventional waste would be reduced & how this could be rolled out very quickly all over the world, Nikola would be proud!

Interesting heat engine. Carnot efficiency limit is a pain in the arse, though. It applies irrespective of the type of machinery between the heat source and sink. Maybe you'll catch Entropy looking the other way! Good luck to you!
NOW I understand your vision. Think in one-way and pressure=temperature equalized valves and loops off of the main line, like a biological system. The pump is a mechanical condenser instead of chemical refrigeration. I had not solved the problem yet myself, how to keep ONLY compressed air on board as fuel in an auto and have the water recycled for continual phase change. A generator magnetically locked with the turbine could self-sustain the electrical system. And the pump is actually the compressed air in phase change. I will have to look at and think about how to incorporate it.
Time component math for eddy current loss in a generator? I think I did it. 360 degrees X 12 = 4,320, optimized for reality in rotation. Too much more and it loses usable torque. JUST like combustion engine power bands. Is this thing on?
@@iEnergySupply Look at the Light Saber video on my channel. The time component for optimized efficiency is why the power band in an engine is a mystery. If you think of the sinusoidal effect and geometry of the moving internals, the 5252RPM power band number I've seen for a combustion engine is the same thing, "eddy currents" in the vibration of the materials. The sweet spot is achieved and then a loss of scalable efficiency. Why? The weight of the internals moving under fluid flow vacuum actually reach a T=1 and then drop off usable power. I reasoned this to the weight and momentum of the internals being less efficient than the Bork Engine, b/c the Tesla EM-mechanical oscillator shape of the Bork Engine is sinusoidal, a DOHC is not. I glued rare earth magnets into rotating spool fishing reels long ago. NOW I understand eddy currents. Because nobody ever could explain math, so I did it to myself. 12 recursion are needed, the analog to the clock face. Power generation is at the transverse node that connects counterspace to space. Inside, 3D Pythagorean progression take place from 1D sine wave components. BUT they have a directionality to the output node. That is how time is composed from both movement and the exact physical description of the object in question.

If you give a perfect description of the magnet on the generator, and the field extension and geometries, then a time component of 1 can be achieved, giving optimum output at 4320 RPM per cycle. If the gauge symmetry is right, then a multiple of this number describes the rebound-pickup of the internals exchanged for a weighted flywheel. Could you see testing for a reciprocating effect on a turbine/weighted and vented flywheel with valve loop connection off of the main line? Encase the flywheel just like the turbine, but loop one way to make an eddy current so to speak. The idea is that the heat loss on deceleration is equalized into the flywheel chamber thermodynamically to increase coasting efficiency. If Tesla had a Hertzian mind, he would have thought to do this mathematically, but he was too overwhelmed with his internal vision. If bothered to do it, a fire equation would not be impossible. Inside power generation, the heat equation and solution are buried. Exponential scaling is scary. If the object and fields are precise, the time component must be this for the 3D internal-sinusoidal directionality to the output node, the shaft in this case.
Hmm... one way of looking at this is like a reversed refrigerator when the warm and cold side is connected. Instead of compressing room temperature gas into a liquid, dumping that heat and cooling the fridge with the cold side, you add heat to the system on the warm side, drive a turbine with it and then dump the waste heat out on the cold side. And the more efficent the turbine is the less heat needs to be dumped.

@jizburg Everything is below atmospheric pressure. I vacuumed all the air out of the system so as long as the cool side is cool and the warm side is warm it will run
no because it doesn't become ice under high vacuum until it mixes with atmospheric pressure, we are getting rid of the condenser with a sufficient exhaust stage.
Car radiator. this could really increase the efficiency of a car engine using the heat from a car engine. The car radiator is designed to throw away 50% of the energy of the diesel as heat. you are onto real winner... great work!

If the system requires heated water to self-sustain, isn't the water being used as a heat battery and wouldn't that negate the notion that it is self-sustaining because it requires that external energy input?
Perhaps make it mobile use heat from your engine coolant use low temp. to cool intake air from turbo to injectors or carb.Watch out for carb icing,also maybe cool oil from engine dry sump oil pan(separate blow-by from dry sump and valve covers) perhaps re-burn that in aux.engine with Aaron's patented plasma ignition system, for electric coolant pump and oil pump,engine alternator.,taking loads off the engine. Maybe hydraulics for power brakes and steering. plus other uses also there's plenty of heat loss from the cats that could help also you of course know thanks for your wonderful work and intelligent engineering!... Testla had the right idea but metal an bearing technology are now advanced enough to make this design work !!! It's a pump a steam turbine or a fueled engine !!! Natural gas would be my choice with a cooling jacket for hot water or steam . Ceramic Bearings an wear hardenable stainless steel are the key !!!
you can boil water with a hose long enought to reach a couple meter up, and poor water in it ,it will boil ,,mabe this can be added to your system to start it..??
we have tried this with gravity and a big hill, we would like to experiment more with it in the future but for now we must stay on track to finish the off grid system.
To run low temperature steam below it's boiling point in atmosphere. It's technically not a boiler at that point as it never goes above atmospheric pressure.
Guys you COULD use a flux-switching generator for the power! You could see if Paul Babcock and Jim Murray's tech can be added to the generator and be able to switch at fast enough speeds in order to increase reactive power, just a suggestion, it's able to handle the speeds you can set the Tesla Turbine to. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flux_switching_alternator
Have yall ever thought about putting a steam trap on it that would keep all of the water out of your system. I know that it would destroy your systems vacuum, but look at my Facebook padge, and you might be able to find a system on their that can create your vaccum for you.

I have a (closed)system I’m working on that creates a 450 psi differential pressure from the evaporator/boiler to the active cooled condenser (under pressure, so it will condense )the working fluid boils well below 0 f)working on the turbine/expander now

Interested in seeing the end result. Essentially you are emulating what happens in an steam turbine generating system but at a much reduced temperature. I assume you will use a small positive displacement pump to transfer the condensed water back to the high pressure/ temperature stage
This is a great proof of concept! At the conference you should add a generator so you can show this under a load - it will really give people the idea of how you can use a tank as a battery and water state-change as the fuel. It would be interesting to know how many watts you can get from a gallon of steam at a given temperature into a good vacuum.

There are massive restrictions in the plumbing.. Think air flow. The exhaust dead heads right into a T fitting.. You need full flow fittings. No right angles or T's, use radius transitions. It would be wise to make ur own from stainless tubing and fittings, use flare instead of ferrules..

Loved it! I had this Idea. What if you change the water with a low boiling point gas like ammonia+water mixture like the one they used in Organic Rankine Cycle power generation enclosed in a closed-loop system to improve the vaporization of the liquid and letting the vacuum pull it from the collector condensing tank system through a one-way pressure release valve for continuously feeding the system back to the source. Would it be possible and how long do you think it would stop or stabilize before all the pressure in the system equates?
Good question, I actually used perlite in this video, although haven't really tested it's true power yet. I really want to try your ammonia idea. With a improved Tesla turbine, with metal rotor, it's hard to say what performance we will get compared to this, I just know it will be much better.

Having researched fluids for this project, purified deionised water appears to be the best energy transfer medium due to its critical conditions for vaporisation. Ammonia seems like a good idea except its critical energy level is well below ambient temperatures

Could you possibly make a metal disc, somewhat similar to a bicycle wheel with “spokes” towards the center, then apply layers of carbon fiber on either side encasing the metal wheel. Then possibly put that on the lathe and turn it down so it’s perfectly flat on either side, while leaving enough carbon fiber to still be the outer most layer and just on the outside edge of the disc. That should increase the efficiency of the discs for your TT because it has a better moment of inertia factor. Lighter on the innermost portion while being loaded at the rim more fully. I may be wrong, but that way you could potentially exceed the metals tensile strength because the carbon fiber shell would be holding the metal intact.
Awesome guys, just a thought, you most likely know already I made a single shaft the same way you guys have it years ago make sure that shaft is thick I had lots of balancing problems, vibrations due to the flex of the shaft spinning with the magnet load. The more electric load the more warping I got 👍

Hello, if you want to have a greater vacuum, you must change that square box where the turbine is, with a sphere or ball that can be opened in half and put the turbine inside.
The ball will hold much more atmospheric pressure without breaking depending on the material.

yeah, another problem was the large size, we made it smaller and inlayed the connections. It's hard to make something circular like that. My new chamber can take full vacuum without any issues.
How do you plan to maintain vacuum on a production system? Quality parts, I'm sure, but will some sort of automatic vacuum pump system be needed?
In a production system, you only need to charge the system one time, until you do maintenance on the system.

Have you guys looked into teslas removal of nitrogen from atmosphere to create flame? You could then use the heat from atmosphere to boil water which could turn turbine. Small devices for each home would be sufficient

Interesting. If I understand this right, it's a similar effect to what powered the old fireless industrial steam locomotives. Instead of a boiler, you had a large, insulated thermos bottle filled with very hot water and a small head of steam. As the cylinders consume the steam, a partial vacuum is created in the thermos and a portion of the hot water flashes into steam, renewing the pressure.
very close, the entire system is in complete vacuum, it works like the criophorous system. We put a turbine in-between the boiler and the condenser. More clear description is on the way.
Yes, direct drive for a generator, but a transmission is not geometrically obvious. Planetary gearing from shaft to transmission looks like the best way.

This thing draws energy from room temperature water, by reducing it to a lower temperature? Does it require a reservoir that is colder than the coldest the warm side gets? The description in the beginning isn't clear about where the vacuum pressure is coming from when it isn't coming from the vacuum pump.
I believe it's possible, but it is roughly 175 degrees f in the video shown.

I love your work. I been trying to figure out a way for off grid renewable energy. This is how I found you. I want to run a steam turbine under vacuum to boil water around 86f and use a hot pool to keep running over night.
Stay tuned because we are extremely close. At this point, I think it will take more then 86f, but we haven't tested the vacuum stage with the turbine in cold steam yet. so it may be possible to run it at 86f

It would be really cool to get some custom magnets for that, but the tests would be expensive as custom magnets are almost 2000 dollars.

I'd suggest an iron core but then I think warping would be an issue.
'm wondering actually - how did you solve the radial tension problem? You're pulling some incredible rpms for what looks like, well, not carbon fibre disks... Is the fact that you've kept the disks so small in radius actually sufficient to prevent an unscheduled rapid disassembly?

Can you simple attach magnets to the turbine and have coils in the casing to make it a generator. 2 to solve the too much speed problem for a standard alternator can it work just with lower psi until it's at the optimum speed or does that not really work. 3 balancing, I'm planning on making a metal one with laser cut parts stacked together. I believe he is using springs for ballance. I would possibly use prime numbers in strengths/lengths for each spring
I am actually using rubber spokes now, with a more solid support but still very flexible. More balancing videos and my current innovations coming up.

Yes way more power. As long as you keep the tank warm and you don't have any leeks. The vapor pressure is also removed keeping the pressure in the turbine lower then anywhere in the system as long its moving fast enough there won't be any vapor pressure build up to clog the turbine.

I have vacuum formed carbon fiber disks for a couple of projects in the past. The stiffness for its weight is incredible, 9 inch disks could easily handle 80,000 to 90,000 rpm. The money to vacuform is cheaper than machining steel, also balancing is an order of magnitude easier due to carbon fiber being one tenth or so of steel. I could make some disks for you guys. Where are you guys located?.
Hey there Ben, do you think water will adhere to the surface of the carbon fiber discs like it does to stainless steel? The adherence of water to the surface of the discs is one of the methods of action working in the machine. This would be cool to see!
@@andrewselberg9173 water droplets stick to vertical glass surfaces so I think it would be the same. Also the mold surfaces are not perfect and impart any small imperfections to the epoxy/carbon fiber.
@@nikola.tesla.r.and.d.centre The thinnest carbon fabric I have used is .025. There is probably thinner. Most layups are multilayered so the finished thickness can be varied. I have done layups as thick as .250". Once cured the parts can be machined on a fixture on a lathe to be identical and concentric. Carbon fiber disks weigh almost nothing yet are stiffer than steel. We would have to test it but I would think it would would be ideal. When the rpms get high weight and imbalance kills it. The shaft could be titanium, which is half the weight of steel, it could also be hollow. The whole assembly would have to be dynamically balanced. A 9 or 10 inch turbine at 90,000 rpm would be impressive.

If a magnet was added to both ends of the turbine shaft would that help with Balance? and with added coils you should be able to produce even more electricity from the same turbine. Im following closely with this project and I wish you all the luck and success going forward.
Why not make part of the load be something to heat the tank? Like an induction coil.
it would add more load to the turbine, and decrease the speed of the turbine just to heat water that is powering itself.

You got it! We got 1kw with a 3" plastic turbine with 110 psi compressed air and small nozzle input. With say 250 degree steam we should get around 6-7kw on our metal turbine 4" rotor and that is truly amazing!

I've been working on similar ideas. Mine also include desalination. I unfortunately had most of my equipment taken by the police cause I was building closed loop extractors for hash oil. Which is where my similar ideas sprouted from. I'd love to share some ideas and don't expect anything. I just want to see the oil companies fall. Man, this really blew my mind though. I mean, me and my roommate have been discussing whether or not enough energy would be removed to create the pressure difference needed. I didn't think it could. I was wrong. So in my idea I envisioned using ocean swell pumps and ocean water for my heart sink. Guess that isn't needed😆 Dude, desalinate ocean water that's solar heated. Then electrolysis so you can get hydrogen. Also a great energy storage. And with storing heated water, vacuum jacket your vessel like a dewar.
You got it man! Most important thing I've learned recently is the desire for very large inlets, and a larger pump on your turbine.
@@iEnergySupply In my experience pex wouldn't hold a vacuum. I switched to metal pipe. 304SS 3/8" cause I could bend it with a pipe bending spring. I think you'll need bigger diameter though. So you'll probably have to cut and braise. I also considered that maybe you are using different pex connections. I was using the copper clamp rings. Which hold pressure but don't do so well with vacuum. Maybe I clamped one wrong and that was my issue though also. But yeah, switching to metal pipe might give you the seal you want. In my closed loop experiments a perfect seal is absolutely necessary because the butane is flammable when mixed with air in ratios between 1200 ppm and 470,000 ppm. So when you get the system below the barometric pressure a leak draws in air. Making it dangerous. And when it's above barometric pressure it pushes butane out, also making it dangerous.
Check out glacier tanks. They have a bunch of cool stainless stuff meant to hold pressure and vacuum.

@@iEnergySupply Also, have you considered a different working fluid? Ammonia is generally safe and accessible and it's boiling point is -23°F at 1 ATM. But you'll HAVE to solve your vacuum leaks. I saw another video, don't know if it was you, but the guy had ice form on the Tesla turbine/ pump. Which broke it. I do believe that the freezing point of water is problematic because of that. You won't have that problem with ammonia. Allowing you to reach much higher RPMs. And you can get the temperature so low on the exhaust side that it's itching to pick up heat from anything.

From what i have read about tesla turbine efficiency research the main inefficiency is in the nozzles. While the rotor it self is really efficient as long as you get the spacing and rotor thickness right for the fluid used.

Carbon fiber is our new material, also with the tesla turbine using laminar flow, wear on the disks are extremely low.

Very Easily .. A Small Generator With a Transmitter/Transducer in the range you which to transmit the power inside the box ... outside of the box would be a tuned pickup receiver to receive the transmitted energy ... Very similar to a wireless phone charger , it would also be highly efficient and effective .

Basically I saw the other video where you make steam becoming a frozen breeze...also while braking the turbine I think..
I was wandering, imagine creating energy with a Stirling Engine cooled by a constant stream of water, that stream could reaching really fastly boiling point or closely below boiling.
Than I thought it would be very simple at this point to using it for a tesla for generating a small but conspicuous amount of power and than re circulating it below ambient temperature as active cheep coolant.
Than I saw other videos mentioning that the Turbine can go with just 70° C and there are some beautiful fountains to cooling down the water even more...

I think i have a solution for the storage of the heat. Sodium acetate which is is used in rechargeable hand warmers. They need to be taken above about 60c for the chemical reaction to take place where they change from crystals to a liquid. They are then cooled down to room temperature bit they remain as a liquid. The reaction can be reversed at will by introducing a tiny bit of crystallised solution and an exothermic reaction takes place. For the cooling bit you could use the energy for something that needs energy instantly to minimise losses. I think you should be able to recover nearly all the heat energy. There are far stronger chemicals but not ones the average person wants to be messing with such as sodium hydroxide which is extremely corrosive.

So let me get this straight: You could heat up water/ammonia mix using vacuum tubes on the roof send it to hot storage tanks, then when you need power*(1) open valve to telsa turbine which rotates powering a little generator on the shaft of the turbine which then outputs cold water/ammonia vapour that you could integrate into cooling/refrigeration then back into the vacuum tubes to heat up again or would it need condenser tanks? 1. Would the system be able to support powering capacitors which then feed appliances directly or would it have to be paired with an existing solar PV & battery setup?
Very very cool way to store energy just think how much lithium/conventional waste would be reduced & how this could be rolled out very quickly all over the world, Nikola would be proud!

Interesting heat engine. Carnot efficiency limit is a pain in the arse, though. It applies irrespective of the type of machinery between the heat source and sink.

NOW I understand your vision. Think in one-way and pressure=temperature equalized valves and loops off of the main line, like a biological system. The pump is a mechanical condenser instead of chemical refrigeration. I had not solved the problem yet myself, how to keep ONLY compressed air on board as fuel in an auto and have the water recycled for continual phase change. A generator magnetically locked with the turbine could self-sustain the electrical system. And the pump is actually the compressed air in phase change. I will have to look at and think about how to incorporate it.
Yeah you get the idea, I was thinking a simple pump from the condenser to the boiler with check valves.

Time component math for eddy current loss in a generator? I think I did it. 360 degrees X 12 = 4,320, optimized for reality in rotation. Too much more and it loses usable torque. JUST like combustion engine power bands. Is this thing on?

@@iEnergySupply Look at the Light Saber video on my channel. The time component for optimized efficiency is why the power band in an engine is a mystery. If you think of the sinusoidal effect and geometry of the moving internals, the 5252RPM power band number I've seen for a combustion engine is the same thing, "eddy currents" in the vibration of the materials. The sweet spot is achieved and then a loss of scalable efficiency. Why? The weight of the internals moving under fluid flow vacuum actually reach a T=1 and then drop off usable power. I reasoned this to the weight and momentum of the internals being less efficient than the Bork Engine, b/c the Tesla EM-mechanical oscillator shape of the Bork Engine is sinusoidal, a DOHC is not.
I glued rare earth magnets into rotating spool fishing reels long ago. NOW I understand eddy currents. Because nobody ever could explain math, so I did it to myself. 12 recursion are needed, the analog to the clock face. Power generation is at the transverse node that connects counterspace to space. Inside, 3D Pythagorean progression take place from 1D sine wave components. BUT they have a directionality to the output node. That is how time is composed from both movement and the exact physical description of the object in question.
@@iEnergySupply This is a translation job, even with math. Here is what I wanted to specifically tell you concerning the time component and lossless systems. If you give a perfect description of the magnet on the generator, and the field extension and geometries, then a time component of 1 can be achieved, giving optimum output at 4320 RPM per cycle. If the gauge symmetry is right, then a multiple of this number describes the rebound-pickup of the internals exchanged for a weighted flywheel. Could you see testing for a reciprocating effect on a turbine/weighted and vented flywheel with valve loop connection off of the main line? Encase the flywheel just like the turbine, but loop one way to make an eddy current so to speak. The idea is that the heat loss on deceleration is equalized into the flywheel chamber thermodynamically to increase coasting efficiency.
If Tesla had a Hertzian mind, he would have thought to do this mathematically, but he was too overwhelmed with his internal vision. If bothered to do it, a fire equation would not be impossible. Inside power generation, the heat equation and solution are buried. Exponential scaling is scary. If the object and fields are precise, the time component must be this for the 3D internal-sinusoidal directionality to the output node, the shaft in this case.

We are making them now :) See our latest test where we achieve 150000 rpm with a three inch rotor.
Hmm... one way of looking at this is like a reversed refrigerator when the warm and cold side is connected.
Instead of compressing room temperature gas into a liquid, dumping that heat and cooling the fridge with the cold side, you add heat to the system on the warm side, drive a turbine with it and then dump the waste heat out on the cold side.
And the more efficent the turbine is the less heat needs to be dumped.

@@iEnergySupply also. i had an idea that could be usefull. instead of incasing the whole of the turbine in a vaccum chamber you could just make an acrylic "hat" for the magnet that seals the magnet from atmospheric pressure and have the coils on the outside, or maby you could mold the coils into the acrylic.

@jizburg Everything is below atmospheric pressure. I vacuumed all the air out of the system so as long as the cool side is cool and the warm side is warm it will run

no because it doesn't become ice under high vacuum until it mixes with atmospheric pressure, we are getting rid of the condenser with a sufficient exhaust stage.
Car radiator. this could really increase the efficiency of a car engine using the heat from a car engine. The car radiator is designed to throw away 50% of the energy of the diesel as heat.

It may not be needed as carbon fiber is a much better material for weight to strength. our fastest speed with a 3 inch rotor is 150000 rpm.

If the system requires heated water to self-sustain, isn't the water being used as a heat battery and wouldn't that negate the notion that it is self-sustaining because it requires that external energy input?
The heat energy can be from nearly any source, including the earth, It's inexhaustible. I don't know what to call it.
Self sustaining is referring to the fact that it maintains the vacuum on its own once it’s primed. That is a remarkable achievement

Perhaps make it mobile use heat from your engine coolant use low temp. to cool intake air from turbo to injectors or carb.Watch out for carb icing,also maybe cool oil from engine dry sump oil pan(separate blow-by from dry sump and valve covers) perhaps re-burn that in aux.engine with Aaron's patented plasma ignition system, for electric coolant pump and oil pump,engine alternator.,taking loads off the engine. Maybe hydraulics for power brakes and steering. plus other uses also there's plenty of heat loss from the cats that could help also you of course know thanks for your wonderful work and intelligent engineering!... If you believe the "cold" side is not necessary, what about replacing it with a condenser as in distillation..
you can boil water with a hose long enought to reach a couple meter up, and poor water in it ,it will boil ,,mabe this can be added to your system to start it..??
we have tried this with gravity and a big hill, we would like to experiment more with it in the future but for now we must stay on track to finish the off grid system.

To run low temperature steam below it's boiling point in atmosphere. It's technically not a boiler at that point as it never goes above atmospheric pressure.
Would it be even possible Tesla turbines to power a Tesla car?

Guys you COULD use a flux-switching generator for the power!
You could see if Paul Babcock and Jim Murray's tech can be added to the generator and be able to switch at fast enough speeds in order to increase reactive power, just a suggestion, it's able to handle the speeds you can set the Tesla Turbine to.

Have yall ever thought about putting a steam trap on it that would keep all of the water out of your system. I know that it would destroy your systems vacuum, but look at my Facebook padge, and you might be able to find a system on their that can create your vaccum for you.
