    Hi Gilly, Make a scissor truss using overlap joints. When you install trusses, you've got to use bracing boards to keep them in position laterally, since they're only designed to take vertical loads. If you're interested in hearing any more details about this, I'm happy to provide more information!

      I've made some modifications on this design, to make it a scissor truss and to have more lap joints and web members.
      The video is a good intro to design. Bracing is the other factor.
