TO always said he got a real good sense throughout the week of how they would play on Saturday. I can't believe Rhule actually said 'it seemed like they were playing not to lose' as if he and his staff haven't been coaching not to lose all off/season. What does he expect? I mean look at NU's 1st half (ave 16.7/38th) v 2nd half point totals (ave 7.5/124th)...thats what coaching not to lose looks like.
This is what I love about these videos from CBrew and Carriker. They bring an interesting insight from their experiences in football. Being able to break things down for us lay people to better understand whats going on.
I have often wondered if Coach Rhule’s openness-or even channels like this looking at X’s & O’s (which I love!)-gives away info a little too easy to other teams.
I was worried about Indiana for a while. They are a veteran team with a bunch of talented over-looked players. They have a ton of swagger and this was a prove it game for them, where as we looked at this as another Rutgers (imo). OSU is going to be rough, my fear is that we don't lose all confidence before after two (potentially) bad games. There is no reason we can't beat UCLA, and maybe Iowa, Wisconsin, or even USC. However, we can't go in the tank after this next game and that may be rough. I'm a big fan of Rhule. I don't mind Satterfield, tbh. A lot of the play calls are poorly executed. Imo, both Banks and Neyor have not been great, neither can block nor are they good enough running routes to make up for their bad blocking or passive route running. Coach McGuire is a good recruiter, but so far, not great at developing. Or Special Teams is a liability, which means if we cannot score TDs then we are at an extreme disadvantage. Playing the field position game is also very difficult with this unit. Overall we are better than we have been. I don't think anyone doubts that, but the jump we wanted from Rhule and co in year two may not happen and that is not a good thing. We really need to focus and make a bowl game this year. It is a must.
I was thinking that he was giving too much info but if he doesn't the fan base loses their shit. I will say though that he is not saying anything that any other team cannot easily see on film. He's not like "we love running zero blitz against heavy formations and have been great at it". He is just pointing out everything even the casual see's. Plus to think all these programs don't have advanced statistics on their desk for game week, I beat every single team we have yet to play knowns we can't play man, shit I beat they know that from last year.

Thanks for the perspective of a former player. Also with Covid are you sure you dont have another year or two?

Not seeing this type of play coming is disconcerting.
We need more than 3 running plays. IMHO

CBrew my dude! You should go to practice and show these TE and WR how to block!
Mann! Someone needs to, more so WRs
We've been Rhule'd and Raiola'd and this won't end well in the end. One more year tops. This is not good coaching.
