Question, can one use teflon spray on the metal to help with installation? I've found it difficult to install PTFE seals dry, even damaging them.

      Hello Abraham,
The Payen PTFE Seal comes conveniently pre-assembled on a plastic collar within the packaging, serving as a handy tool that easily fits over the shaft, ensuring a precise seal installation.
Before installing the seal, it's crucial to ensure that the shaft's mating surface is impeccably clean and dry. Avoid applying any oils, greases, or other chemicals to the shaft surface, as this can prevent the seal from properly bedding-in and lead to premature leaks.
Remember, it's important to allow the engine to sit for a minimum of 4 hours after assembly to allow the sealing lip of the seal to thermally adapt and evenly conform to the shaft surface for optimal performance.
Hope you find our answer useful.
      Have a nice day!

    Horrible seals.
Old style seals with spring and directional grooves last 250k miles, those fail 1/2 that distance 🤦‍♂️
