I wish fanboys would stop arguing. You get what you pay for. If you want 4K, get a PC. If you want improved resolution and performance over current consoles, get the One X or the Pro. If you prefer Playstation, get the Pro. If you prefer Xbox, get the X. Of course the X is going to be better than the Pro. You get what you pay for but the Pro is still a good improvement in alot of games over the base PS4 so it is still worth an investment. Same with the X. Whilst neither will do true 4K in all games, they both remain the best way to experience games on the PS4/Xbox family. So buy and enjoy your piece of plastic.

@wobblypops46 The Xbox One X as I said, offers improved performance. It will not do native 4K in all games as already shown with the launch X enhanced titles. I own a One X right now and for the price, the improved performance is good for Xbox fans. Look at Halo 5, Assassins Creed Origins etc. It is doing the same dynamic resolution and will likely do checkerboard rendering in the future. The point is, it's a good machine but the situation has not changed. If you truly want native 4K, the only option will be a PC. If you want the improvements that the One X and PS4 Pro bring, then by all means, they are good machines and great for fans of the Playstation and Xbox family.

Marginal differences. Who does really think about this when playing? This is an awesome game on any platform. I own an XBOX ONE X, so I am happy with the extra power and all, but if I had a PS4PRO or a high-end PC, I would enjoy the game anyway. Great analysis, guys. It is interesting to dwell on the technical aspects like pixel counting, draw distance and world shadows. But again, little differences that shine in some specific locations (HDR in tombs and caves are eye-openers) but do not affect the gaming experience overall.
Carles MR thats what i said when it was going down between the regular xbox one and play station 4,that the diffetence was small some couldnt even notice but they kept throwing fuel to the fire and now we a new console every 3 years
This game on ultra at 60fps is stunningly beautiful. Pretty CPU heavy in the cities but I am really happy with it so far. When I move up to 4k I will be shooting for actual 4k, not checkerboarding.
Because the Pro was a mistake. Way smaller improvement than the One X. Way less support than the One X, even though it came out a year earlier. And for 100USD less...yet it doesnt even have a 4K blu ray drive that Sony made? Yeah I dont see how any of those facts are fanboy opinions.

Yes they joined the group of companies that devloped it including Philips and others but you don't hear people say Philips invented the blue ray. And now blue ray is it's own division with a board of directors from many companies including Microsoft and Sony.

The PC version never received HDR guys, even Ubisoft stated that they have no intention of implementing it on PC. False advertising since, as you stated, HDR were supposed to be added to "all platforms".
Compairing a $500 GPU to a $500 fully working Console. Doesn't seem legit. You get what you pay for. Getting these much pixels for just $500 is amazin value. PC gaming is expensive and will always be.
You know that's actually a given? It's possible to compare things without factoring in price. The Xbox One X is more expensive than the Pro, so by your logic they shouldn't be comparing them either. The PC is there as the benchmark to show what true 4k looks like.
William Fenton Xbox One X is way faster than PS4 Pro, so it justfies its price difference. Where as PC gaming, at least for me in my country, doesn't justify it's price compared to consoles.
Even if they gave it a 1080p option, the GPU isn't the issue here. It's the CPU. It even struggles to get a stable 60FPS in linear games. Open world games just destroy it.
Sindhu Baskoro METRO footage at E3 was also. The developer stated that the X console was on stage and turned on but the footage came from a PC. Now Origins was on PC at what they guessed it would look like on Xbox X. It really should be illegal.

Lots of these comments give the impression that people are trying to justify buying the One X. If you like it and it's worth it to you, then why are you trying to justify it? Taking jabs at an older system (PS4 Pro) is hardly justifying the One X. It's rather silly. People with high-end PCs can say the same about the One X. As a filthy casual, I'm pleased with my PS4 Pro. I like it. I am sure if I had a One X I would like that, too. Once games are optimised for the One X I am sure I'll be envious. For now, though, just relax. That's the purpose of gaming anyway.

I won't stop you from having a go at PS4s. I'm just saying that people who have bought the One X and are trying to justify their purchase need to relax. It's not about what other people think of it. If you bought a One X and you enjoy it - you think it's worth the money - then what's the problem? A bunch of faceless people on the internet judging you is hardly important. Justifying it like they have been in this comment section gives me the impression that, to them, it wasn't worth it.
I guess the brewing deliberation now is the authenticity of Microsoft's claims concerning native 4k and the even less palpable 60 frames per second. There is no doubt this is a more powerful machine than the PS4 Pro, as one would expect given the time allotted between both releases. But the superfluous claims and advertised quality were delivered with absolute certainty and the results have fallen short of that. As many of the more astute oberservers have mentioned: native 4k/60fps is still jarringly taxing on a current high end PC containing a 1080ti. At no point did it even seem remotely possible for them to truncate the performance cost of a $1500 PC to $500. However we now suspect them to have used a PC to showcase their games at E3 as I'm sure they suspected a less discerning audience and an even less informed consumer.
The key point here is software, it is questionable however that’s the beauty of one of the most power software companies in the world. This is all new technology and it doesn’t matter as long as the performance is solid and the graphics are great why try to nit pick it is all I am saying. It’s been long overdue for Microsoft to recover from the Balmer and prior president of the Xbox divisions departure of Microsoft for Phil spencer and satya and Nadella to get the Xbox one where it needs to be. Now that it’s there people still want to hate on it and find any flaw they can, it’s so petty to focus on the negative, why can’t we just focus on a great product and enjoy it. Gaming and technology is so much like politics it’s crazy.
So according to this video, MS lied at the Assassins creed showing because they said it was running on the X at 4k but it was really running on a PC at 4k. Now that the actual game is out on the console it's running below that. Didn't they say "no compromise". This is the reason why I'm waiting to see if the X is going to be worth it. Too much smoke and mirrors right now.
Ben Evens This game was being developed while the Xbox One X was still in development. As we get further and further away from the launch of X1X and as developers get more used to the Xbox One X and the XDK gets better and better, this will only make the games get better and better over time. There is no smoke and mirrors bro, it happens every time a new console get's launched. If you really want to see what the Xbox One X can do, you will need to wait until end of 2018 and end of 2019 to really see games start using the best of the hardware (just like any console generation). You guys act like you never have seen console generations before.
PC has a massive stuttering problem especially during cutscenes (even with a GTX 1080ti, an i7 6700k, 16 GB RAM installed on an SSD with newest drivers 388.13 and the current patch version 1.03).. Why they didn't talk about this in the video is beyond me..

Wow 30 fps what is the point of getting this over a pro? Worse games played at a slightly higher resolution. They really needed to take advantage of the huge gap and demand in the market. A console capable of 60fps accross all games using dynamic resolution. Even lock cut scenes to 30 if needed.

Digital Foundry does great work but let’s be honest video games and current hardware (Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and PC) all are able to present these games with great detail. If you’re on console you’re getting great value. If you’re on PC you’re enjoying higher FPS and native resolutions. We are at 4K gaming in 2017 guys. Consoles are doing it too. This is a big deal and great news. With new hardware coming out in the next couple of years it should be a minimum of 60 FPS for even consoles. What’s next 8k? Lol come on we are in a very unique time period. No matter what you play just have fun.

sounds to me like ubi didn't even try to optimize for the pro which dissapoints me... they easily could have made it at least 1800p res and the X at 2160p through checkerboard and it would have looked better. checkerboard is the best solution for rendering for efficency IMO and allows for better looking games.
i dont think ps4 pro can do 1800P in this game, i'm not sure about what the X could do better if it could do better maybe higher anisotropic filtering and better ambient occlusion sampling but im not sure given how the game samples out of its render. typical ubisoft game code tends to be more demanding to hardware than it should be given what it is. i dont like checkerboard scaling.. have played with PS4 pro a lot with my buddies, ill stick with native resolution, just waay sharper, i dont care what anyone says... the thing a lot of people dont mention or fail to realize is when you scale images up, regardless of what method you use, any extra filtering, like anti aliasing, anisotropic for examples are not sampled at the output resolution, but instead sampled at the lower res.. this is a major annoyance when antialiasing is using temporal method since temporal uses reduced scaling method to blur edges... yes im a PC gamer, but i'm not an elitist, i'm open and welcoming for console gamers to experience better visual fidelity that we have... but not sure when that will be a thing, seems 4K is achievable but given weaker CPUs all consoles have, heavy filtering or higher frame rate isn't going to be a thing apparently.. like most games that are "patched" for higher console still use 8X anisotropic filtering, which is obnoxious since 16X looks better, especially at awkward angles and doesn't tax hardware any extra.. then ambient occlusion which for most part on consoles even pro and X are seeing reduced settings like SSAO or completely disabled.. and it kills the ambience if you played the same game on a PC using HBAO+.. sure some games make it little more demanding to use HBAO depending how its sampled, but usually only like 2-5% at most and worth it for the extra eye candy.. and other things that are more demanding and understandable why consoles will never touch them like enhanced godrays and such..
If you buy a PC now with GTX 1060, Ryzen 1600, 8GB Ram, powersupply etc it's about 550$..that setup is quite a bit more powerful than Xbox X which has a 10 year old jaguar CPU built in and the GPU is worse than a GTX 1060. Of course a console that uses all the power just for gaming unlike a PC has some advantages too and can keep up with a PC that has more potent hardware.
i agree, coming from a pc gamer, i actually agree. i spent loads of cash on my rig and am very happy with it, but a 500 dollar pc would never match an X or a Pro
As someone that buys pretty much all consoles I sold my xbox one when they cancelled Scalebound.. What is the point of a console with almost no exclusives? Even the failed Wii U had great 1st party games..

It is great to see the Xbox One X being more powerful. Keeps healthy competition between systems strong and all gamers benefit from it. However, I feel Microsoft should have marketed the system differently. Touting an uncompromising 4K experience when most games run in Dynamic Res or Checkerboard Rendering is going to make some think that the marketing was misleading. Yes, while it is more powerful than the PS4 Pro and the differences are clear, I feel Microsoft should have gone with a more dynamic 4k experience slogan while still labeling it as the most powerful console.
For me the improved ambient occlusion, lighting, shadows, and frame rate of pc /ultra settings makes so much more sense as a choice to give gamers a truly beautiful game. I don't really get the 4K obsession, when my pc is powerful enough that I can run 4K with everything else cranked up then maybe I'll care.

I noticed that in the, "gear," option screen that the crafting upgrade pictures were at 1080 resolution, while the Ranged, melee, outfit, and shield were in 4k
With AC-O, 1 thing the dev talked about was the real time loading "bubble" for Bayek and Senu. There's only one bubble in other platforms, meaning you will need to reload everything when you exit back to Bayek if you fly too far away. They do 2 bubble on the xb1x. Double world caching.
It's not the Xbox one X fault this time. I have this game on all three platforms and they all look and run between shit and mediocre. Ubisoft just did Ubisoft which is something we should all be used to by now.

Exactly it don't take a rocket scientist to see both consoles pretty much do the same thing it's not like we are zooming in 200 300x like digital foundry ps does a great job with the checkerboard thing in most games hide both consoles behind two of the same tv's you would still have to guess which is which in most games.It's called marketing.

Microsoft has said that Devs are free to use the hardware however they want, they do not have to hit native 4K if they desire graphics over resolution.

We are already watching a slowed down 300% zoomed in picture here and its still difficult to see the difference. During normal gameplay you wont notice anything different.
People are making it look like Xbox One X is wayyyyyyyyy ahead of the pro and how it's destroying it when in reality it isn't... a few framerates isn't killing the other console. At MOST 4 frames difference during cut scenes and about 1 frame and at MOST 2 during gameplay. Resolution is about the same. I don't understand what people are flipping out about. Are you going to be covering the PC version of Odyssey more in depth this go around? it seriously took me a whole year to figure out that the AA settings in the game aren't Post-processing AA, but Temporal reconstruction at the low and medium setting with TAA on the high setting. Directly googling leaves a singular discussion thread where someone else figured it out as well. Point is, Gotham needs you, Digital Foundry!
Seriously, nobody cares if anything is "true" 4k or "only" checkerboard. And the majority of players prefer image quality over framerate, as long as the game doesn't suffer from it. Any 3rd person action game is completely fine at solid 30fps.
Defamingly One regular game in which all this should work, as advertised. Same goes for future games which will be looking only better and better, and the X should keep the advertised quality at least for some amount of time from release. Unfortunately what has been advertised isn't resembling the reality.

When you play on your console properly, meaning you sit 2-3 meters from your TV set it's impossible to see the difference between 2K and 4K! Let's go straight for the Juggular here. Ps4pro's implimentation of assassin's Creed origins is worse than xbox one x version. With the Xbox one X version having double the resolution of the pro and a more stable framerate, the Xbox wins this duel being a closer match to the PC version.
PC Gaming is rarely ever cheaper than Console gaming if you are an enthusiast. I bought my AMD 7950 in 2012 for $300 something dollars so I can play 1080p @60fps. Then I upgraded to a 980 Ti in 2015 for around $600 dollars so I can play at 3440x1440 at 60fps. I upgraded my I7 2600 to a Ryzen 1700 in 2017, alongside the mobo and Ram. Now finally upgraded to a 1080 Ti in 2018 for $615. This alone far eclipses the price of any console in its lifetime. I have the money and time right now. But a $400 console would have been far cheaper. Now if I would have kept my original I7 2600 and AMD 7950, I probably could still get 60fps at 1080 med in some games.
I'm kind of tired of objectivism. I get that logic is crucial but at what point does technical reasoning come into play? The difference between 1440p and 4k at standard viewing distance is essentially non-existent. At that distance, you can't see the difference in detail no matter how good your eyesight

FYI, PC does NOT offer HDR. Ubisoft went on the record to say that they currently have no plans to support HDR on PC. They 'apologize' for any confusion caused by an earlier press release that stated they would patch in HDR for ALL platforms in November. So once again it's a choice between 4k 30fps HDR console or 4k 60 PC with no HDR (if you have a super computer - my 1080ti can't come close to 4k 60 at ultra).
Its not 4K on the XBox X, its under 4K.. Lower settings than PC.. And drops below 30fps.. I'd rather 1440p144fps than Under 4K sub 30fps HDR. Though at least you can have a more stable 30fps than consoles on PC too. Why would you even buy a Xbox X if you have a 1080ti? Makes no sense, you already have all the Xbox X games, and can play them better. HDR isn't worth playing with lower framerate.
You would still need a monitor or TV that specifically has HDR capabilities to even take advantage of it. Given the options, I'd go with the one that doesn't run at sub 30FPS...the PC. Even at 1080 or 1440p.

Not much of an improvement? One X versions of games are leagues beyond the original Xbox. And consistently shown to be way ahead of the Pro versions as well. The value is defenitely there, than again I own one so I have witnessed the umprovement myself.

Every company has their short falls. I think if you take away windows, I don't remember MS having a successful product outside xbox. Their surface line, windows phones, Kinect, cortana, have all failed in the market, and I think the same can be predicted for their holo-lens. However, financially MS is in a much better position than sony, but I don't think sony is going anywhere anytime soon.
popa chopa their phones failed. Cortana is free. Kinect for 360 was a success even if the games sucked mostly. It was the one that killed it because they forced people to buy it knowing they had no games. Their surface line is actually profitable which is why they are going on their fourth generation and the amount of people that use them at school (university, public schools can't afford them) surprises me.

I wish fanboys would stop arguing. You get what you pay for. If you want 4K, get a PC. If you want improved resolution and performance over current consoles, get the One X or the Pro. If you prefer Playstation, get the Pro. If you prefer Xbox, get the X.
Of course the X is going to be better than the Pro. You get what you pay for but the Pro is still a good improvement in alot of games over the base PS4 so it is still worth an investment. Same with the X. Whilst neither will do true 4K in all games, they both remain the best way to experience games on the PS4/Xbox family.
So buy and enjoy your piece of plastic.

@wobblypops46 The Xbox One X as I said, offers improved performance. It will not do native 4K in all games as already shown with the launch X enhanced titles. I own a One X right now and for the price, the improved performance is good for Xbox fans. Look at Halo 5, Assassins Creed Origins etc. It is doing the same dynamic resolution and will likely do checkerboard rendering in the future. The point is, it's a good machine but the situation has not changed. If you truly want native 4K, the only option will be a PC. If you want the improvements that the One X and PS4 Pro bring, then by all means, they are good machines and great for fans of the Playstation and Xbox family.

Honestly, if the X and Pro are only going to do 30fps at these higher resolutions, just keep the games at 1080p.
There were other bottlenecks preventing 60, even if you lowered the resolution to 720p.

Marginal differences. Who does really think about this when playing? This is an awesome game on any platform. I own an XBOX ONE X, so I am happy with the extra power and all, but if I had a PS4PRO or a high-end PC, I would enjoy the game anyway.
Great analysis, guys. It is interesting to dwell on the technical aspects like pixel counting, draw distance and world shadows. But again, little differences that shine in some specific locations (HDR in tombs and caves are eye-openers) but do not affect the gaming experience overall.

This game on ultra at 60fps is stunningly beautiful. Pretty CPU heavy in the cities but I am really happy with it so far. When I move up to 4k I will be shooting for actual 4k, not checkerboarding.

The PC version never received HDR guys, even Ubisoft stated that they have no intention of implementing it on PC. False advertising since, as you stated, HDR were supposed to be added to "all platforms".

I dont know how many of you guys work on this channel, But I have been binge watching your channel today, after seeing atleast 15 videos, I just want to say well done guys, and thank you for putting in the work for us to see the comparisons.
Lots of these comments give the impression that people are trying to justify buying the One X. If you like it and it's worth it to you, then why are you trying to justify it? Taking jabs at an older system (PS4 Pro) is hardly justifying the One X. It's rather silly. People with high-end PCs can say the same about the One X. As a filthy casual, I'm pleased with my PS4 Pro. I like it. I am sure if I had a One X I would like that, too. Once games are optimised for the One X I am sure I'll be envious. For now, though, just relax. That's the purpose of gaming anyway.

I won't stop you from having a go at PS4s. I'm just saying that people who have bought the One X and are trying to justify their purchase need to relax. It's not about what other people think of it. If you bought a One X and you enjoy it - you think it's worth the money - then what's the problem? A bunch of faceless people on the internet judging you is hardly important. Justifying it like they have been in this comment section gives me the impression that, to them, it wasn't worth it.
I guess the brewing deliberation now is the authenticity of Microsoft's claims concerning native 4k and the even less palpable 60 frames per second. There is no doubt this is a more powerful machine than the PS4 Pro, as one would expect given the time allotted between both releases. But the superfluous claims and advertised quality were delivered with absolute certainty and the results have fallen short of that. As many of the more astute oberservers have mentioned: native 4k/60fps is still jarringly taxing on a current high end PC containing a 1080ti. At no point did it even seem remotely possible for them to truncate the performance cost of a $1500 PC to $500. However we now suspect them to have used a PC to showcase their games at E3 as I'm sure they suspected a less discerning audience and an even less informed consumer.
The key point here is software, it is questionable however that’s the beauty of one of the most power software companies in the world. This is all new technology and it doesn’t matter as long as the performance is solid and the graphics are great why try to nit pick it is all I am saying. It’s been long overdue for Microsoft to recover from the Balmer and prior president of the Xbox divisions departure of Microsoft for Phil spencer and satya and Nadella to get the Xbox one where it needs to be. Now that it’s there people still want to hate on it and find any flaw they can, it’s so petty to focus on the negative, why can’t we just focus on a great product and enjoy it. Gaming and technology is so much like politics it’s crazy.
So according to this video, MS lied at the Assassins creed showing because they said it was running on the X at 4k but it was really running on a PC at 4k. Now that the actual game is out on the console it's running below that. Didn't they say "no compromise". This is the reason why I'm waiting to see if the X is going to be worth it. Too much smoke and mirrors right now.

As we get further and further away from the launch of X1X and as developers get more used to the Xbox One X and the XDK gets better and better, this will only make the games get better and better over time. There is no smoke and mirrors bro, it happens every time a new console get's launched. If you really want to see what the Xbox One X can do, you will need to wait until end of 2018 and end of 2019 to really see games start using the best of the hardware (just like any console generation). You guys act like you never have seen console generations before.

PC has a massive stuttering problem especially during cutscenes (even with a GTX 1080ti, an i7 6700k, 16 GB RAM installed on an SSD with newest drivers 388.13 and the current patch version 1.03).. Why they didn't talk about this in the video is beyond me..

Wow 30 fps what is the point of getting this over a pro? Worse games played at a slightly higher resolution. They really needed to take advantage of the huge gap and demand in the market. A console capable of 60fps accross all games using dynamic resolution. Even lock cut scenes to 30 if needed.

Digital Foundry does great work but let’s be honest video games and current hardware (Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and PC) all are able to present these games with great detail. If you’re on console you’re getting great value. If you’re on PC you’re enjoying higher FPS and native resolutions. We are at 4K gaming in 2017 guys. Consoles are doing it too. This is a big deal and great news. With new hardware coming out in the next couple of years it should be a minimum of 60 FPS for even consoles. What’s next 8k? Lol come on we are in a very unique time period. No matter what you play just have fun.

sounds to me like ubi didn't even try to optimize for the pro which dissapoints me... they easily could have made it at least 1800p res and the X at 2160p through checkerboard and it would have looked better. checkerboard is the best solution for rendering for efficency IMO and allows for better looking games.

i dont think ps4 pro can do 1800P in this game, i'm not sure about what the X could do better if it could do better maybe higher anisotropic filtering and better ambient occlusion sampling but im not sure given how the game samples out of its render. typical ubisoft game code tends to be more demanding to hardware than it should be given what it is.
i dont like checkerboard scaling.. have played with PS4 pro a lot with my buddies, ill stick with native resolution, just waay sharper, i dont care what anyone says... the thing a lot of people dont mention or fail to realize is when you scale images up, regardless of what method you use, any extra filtering, like anti aliasing, anisotropic for examples are not sampled at the output resolution, but instead sampled at the lower res.. this is a major annoyance when antialiasing is using temporal method since temporal uses reduced scaling method to blur edges...
yes im a PC gamer, but i'm not an elitist, i'm open and welcoming for console gamers to experience better visual fidelity that we have... but not sure when that will be a thing, seems 4K is achievable but given weaker CPUs all consoles have, heavy filtering or higher frame rate isn't going to be a thing apparently.. like most games that are "patched" for higher console still use 8X anisotropic filtering, which is obnoxious since 16X looks better, especially at awkward angles and doesn't tax hardware any extra.. then ambient occlusion which for most part on consoles even pro and X are seeing reduced settings like SSAO or completely disabled.. and it kills the ambience if you played the same game on a PC using HBAO+.. sure some games make it little more demanding to use HBAO depending how its sampled, but usually only like 2-5% at most and worth it for the extra eye candy..
and other things that are more demanding and understandable why consoles will never touch them like enhanced godrays and such..
Pro would never get 1800p from this game.

If you buy a PC now with GTX 1060, Ryzen 1600, 8GB Ram, powersupply etc it's about 550$..that setup is quite a bit more powerful than Xbox X which has a 10 year old jaguar CPU built in and the GPU is worse than a GTX 1060. Of course a console that uses all the power just for gaming unlike a PC has some advantages too and can keep up with a PC that has more potent hardware.

It is great to see the Xbox One X being more powerful. Keeps healthy competition between systems strong and all gamers benefit from it. However, I feel Microsoft should have marketed the system differently. Touting an uncompromising 4K experience when most games run in Dynamic Res or Checkerboard Rendering is going to make some think that the marketing was misleading. Yes, while it is more powerful than the PS4 Pro and the differences are clear, I feel Microsoft should have gone with a more dynamic 4k experience slogan while still labeling it as the most powerful console.
For me the improved ambient occlusion, lighting, shadows, and frame rate of pc /ultra settings makes so much more sense as a choice to give gamers a truly beautiful game. I don't really get the 4K obsession, when my pc is powerful enough that I can run 4K with everything else cranked up then maybe I'll care.

With AC-O, 1 thing the dev talked about was the real time loading "bubble" for Bayek and Senu.
There's only one bubble in other platforms, meaning you will need to reload everything when you exit back to Bayek if you fly too far away.

We are already watching a slowed down 300% zoomed in picture here and its still difficult to see the difference. During normal gameplay you wont notice anything different.
People are making it look like Xbox One X is wayyyyyyyyy ahead of the pro and how it's destroying it when in reality it isn't... a few framerates isn't killing the other console. At MOST 4 frames difference during cut scenes and about 1 frame and at MOST 2 during gameplay. Resolution is about the same. I don't understand what people are flipping out about. Seriously, nobody cares if anything is "true" 4k or "only" checkerboard. And the majority of players prefer image quality over framerate, as long as the game doesn't suffer from it. Any 3rd person action game is completely fine at solid 30fps.

Defamingly One regular game in which all this should work, as advertised. Same goes for future games which will be looking only better and better, and the X should keep the advertised quality at least for some amount of time from release. Unfortunately what has been advertised isn't resembling the reality.

When you play on your console properly, meaning you sit 2-3 meters from your TV set it's impossible to see the difference between 2K and 4K! What you can see on the other hand are 30 FPS and draw distance, like fucking grass popping 3 meters in front of you (vide Battlefront 2). But noooooo... Let's go straight for the Juggular here. Ps4pro's implimentation of assassin's Creed origins is worse than xbox one x version. With the Xbox one X version having double the resolution of the pro and a more stable framerate, the Xbox wins this duel being a closer match to the PC version.

PC Gaming is rarely ever cheaper than Console gaming if you are an enthusiast. I bought my AMD 7950 in 2012 for $300 something dollars so I can play 1080p @60fps. Then I upgraded to a 980 Ti in 2015 for around $600 dollars so I can play at 3440x1440 at 60fps. I upgraded my I7 2600 to a Ryzen 1700 in 2017, alongside the mobo and Ram. Now finally upgraded to a 1080 Ti in 2018 for $615. This alone far eclipses the price of any console in its lifetime. I have the money and time right now. But a $400 console would have been far cheaper. Now if I would have kept my original I7 2600 and AMD 7950, I probably could still get 60fps at 1080 med in some games.
I'm kind of tired of objectivism. I get that logic is crucial but at what point does technical reasoning come into play? The difference between 1440p and 4k at standard viewing distance is essentially non-existent. At that distance, you can't see the difference in detail no matter how good your eyesight

FYI, PC does NOT offer HDR. Ubisoft went on the record to say that they currently have no plans to support HDR on PC. They 'apologize' for any confusion caused by an earlier press release that stated they would patch in HDR for ALL platforms in November. So once again it's a choice between 4k 30fps HDR console or 4k 60 PC with no HDR (if you have a super computer - my 1080ti can't come close to 4k 60 at ultra).
Its not 4K on the XBox X, its under 4K.. Lower settings than PC.. And drops below 30fps.. I'd rather 1440p144fps than Under 4K sub 30fps HDR. Though at least you can have a more stable 30fps than consoles on PC too. Why would you even buy a Xbox X if you have a 1080ti? Makes no sense, you already have all the Xbox X games, and can play them better. HDR isn't worth playing with lower framerate.
You would still need a monitor or TV that specifically has HDR capabilities to even take advantage of it. Given the options, I'd go with the one that doesn't run at sub 30FPS...the PC. Even at 1080 or 1440p.

Like many of you I bought the Pro but I quickly realised I had been scammed it offers minimal improvement over the base console, the X will be no different, at least PS4 has some outstanding exclusives going for it. Just wait for next gen or invest in a beast PC which I am about to do, done with this 20-30fps struggle.

Not much of an improvement? One X versions of games are leagues beyond the original Xbox. And consistently shown to be way ahead of the Pro versions as well. The value is defenitely there, than again I own one so I have witnessed the umprovement myself.

But the X is a custom built machine costing significantly more than the Pro both to make and to sell. Even if it can do a lot more, the devs are not unlocking the X's potential. This makes me question the value.

Every company has their short falls. I think if you take away windows, I don't remember MS having a successful product outside xbox. Their surface line, windows phones, Kinect, cortana, have all failed in the market, and I think the same can be predicted for their holo-lens. However, financially MS is in a much better position than sony, but I don't think sony is going anywhere anytime soon.
popa chopa their phones failed. Cortana is free. Kinect for 360 was a success even if the games sucked mostly. It was the one that killed it because they forced people to buy it knowing they had no games. Their surface line is actually profitable which is why they are going on their fourth generation and the amount of people that use them at school (university, public schools can't afford them) surprises me.

jheeze even on youtube you can see the difference is night and day. 2020p on x vs 1440p on pro? that's absolutely crazy. as they said between 50 and 90% resolution improvement for only 22% more in price! MS has sold us a winner. absolutely brilliant console.

what's beating it then? what console can be considered the winner if this isn't? the pos pro? don't make me laugh. 90% resolution difference says it all. even at its worst its a whopping 50+% better than the pro and that's more than 900p vs 1080p and EASILY visible on a 4k screen. keep the damage control up though.
You won't see it at normal viewing distances plus the X1X uses dynamic resolution not 2020p.
