I am very happy to see them bringing new models to their lineup. We all know where they got the ideas from but still they made a very nice helicopter for a great price! Maybe they will come out with a model for that new GT 15 gas engine from OS
Thanks for the review, is there any flexing of the front aileron bracket?have seen a video where the front bracket flexes way too much, maybe the heli wasn’t assembled correctly
I was told that there is a problem with static buildup in the tailboom since the boom isn’t grounded to the frame. Have you run into that at all? I bought a TB70 kit with a HeliDirect 30% off an Align Heli kit coupon I won in a raffle at the San Diego fun fly, and I heard about this static issue afterwards.
So I never had issues with the TB70 but i did on the TB60. I would say build it and fly and see if you have that issue. Some do and some don’t. It also depends on where you live/fly if you have a lot of static in the air.
Maybe your motor mount plate is upside down and that's why the motor is sitting higher Luca. Piscante test flew this for many weeks at Align factory/ flying field and the motor never rubbed on the canopy
I got some flights on the TB70 this weekend and I will say! I prefer it way more then the older Trex 700. The TB70 flys great! Low head speed, high head speed it’s solid! Tail performance is so much better then the older Trex 700.
Would this heli, setup as it is, run with a single 6S battery? Got one coming tomorrow. I don't plan on doing extreme stuff. Just slow circles and such. Thanks. Tried to find out as much about this on the internet, but thought I'd come to a trusted source!
Unfortunately no, motor KV is way to low for 6s. You will need a higher KV motor. 12s is great because you amps are Low compared to 6s and longer flight times and less stress on the battery/batterys.
Be careful of the 830 servo's Jeff - we've had 3 separate issues with them by 3 separate pilots in our club and 1 being so serious power draw caused a crash - use capacitors. I also know that there is a move afoot to now bundle 820's instead of the 830's.
Great info to know! I have the 830s on cyclic in my 760 and I’ve never had a problem but I will definitely keep an eye on these. I agree the 820 is definitely a better Servo.
Well definitely Align has aligned with the times (hehehehe). It looks good, very modern but still with the Align DNA. They are hard to beat on inexpensive combos, that's for sure. They still don't seem to pay attention to some small details. I find the issue with the canopy far too obvious and relatively easy to correct. Unless thinning the canopy from the motor to the swash makes it too fragile. I wonder what would happen if you just dremel a semi circle to allow the motor to clear. Definitely the weakest part is the canopy. Anyways. Glad they distanced themselves more from that "other company" they took "inspiration" from. Not a bad machine, and a good inexpensive option which I think is where Align shines. I wouldn't try one myself. Aside from being a die-hard Goblin fan, there are too many small details I don't like that Goblin absolutely nailed it, since they do always pay attention to those little details. Like the belt tensioner and of course a good canopy hehehe, aside from the design Align took inspiration from. Anyways, glad that you published this video as that's a good way to see this thing up close. Cheers!
It is good to see them finally releasing a supposedly brand new design, which we all know where they got their inspiration from. Lol but! Align always has a place as you really can’t beat their combo kits a one stop shop you get everything exception of a battery and transmitter in the kit know guess work on what you should or shouldn’t buy and that is where they really shine! The canopy really bothers me! On my TB60 if I have the same issue, I will be opening the canopy up to clear the motor! They could’ve even moved the motor mount down a few centimeters and got all the clearance they would’ve needed. The 850 motor is very tall and big compared to a Xnova. I agree that they definitely skip on a few things that SAV pays attention to. But they are definitely nice models and great for the average guy who wants a 700 but doesn’t want to pay SAB prices.
These RC Helicopters are nice however, the hobby is being lost to many (myself included) due to lack of flying fields. I live in Atlanta GA and the clubs here are minimal to non existent. I cannot justify purchasing a thousand dollar helicopter with no place to fly it.
I would have to disagree. You don’t need a flying field to fly, I rarely go to an actual flying field. There is tons of great places to fly that are not AMA sanctioned. If you want to fly bad enough, you will definitely find a spot.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I do have a desire to fly and it is not easy to find places here in GA to fly. I never find/make excuses, i simply state well documented and researched facts. Non AMA fields and other non sanctioned areas are non existent and are privately owned or awaiting construction. Even flying my drone is becoming increasingly cumbersome.
i do not know how anyone can say the styling is upto date? its very dated. not talking mechanics, just the styling. the canopy is like a slab and the white lines on the frames! really. its not even ugly enough to be cool.
Such a great review. Thank you waiting to see the flight and hearing your opinions
Thank you for watching! I tried to do videos on every Brandon manufacture out there. But I do mainly a lot of SAB. But I like Align ALOT as well!
I do like that servo layout! So nice to see Align out with new models! Time for a gasser super combo!!

Awesome looking heli. Looks huge lol
It is! Massive heli!
Looking forward to a flight video from you on it :)
Thank you point flight video will be posted next week at some point. Have a few other videos that have to go out before it.
I like big booms and i can not lie im sure my other brothers cant deny
Love big booms!
I really love your videos very informative. I saw one that you had gotten holder for long antena wires . where do you get them from
I have been waiting so long
I hope it was worth t!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 it was! Flight vid today?
The front servo mount flexes and bends or breaks in a crash.
I would assume so. Definitely doesn’t look like it will handle it well.

You’re welcome! Thank you for watching. No, there is not flex In the front servo bracket. He might have assembled the heli wrong.
Did this kit come with the 15mm drive belt update
Yes it did.
Cool,thanks 👍

Did you have a lot of slop in the tail rotor pushrod guide? My pushrod rattles in the guide.
I will have to check that! I didn’t notice any slop.
I put a piece of shrink wrap over the pushrod guide, shrunk it on and it makes a nice fit with no rattle.
never been interested in rc but this is cool af
No better time than now to get into it!
Maybe your motor mount plate is upside down and that's why the motor is sitting higher
Luca. Piscante test flew this for many weeks at Align factory/ flying field and the motor never rubbed on the canopy
I just double checked and the motor mount plate is installed the right way. very strange.
Overall, do you prefer the TB70 or Trex700? Is it delivery the same idea of flight? Thanks!

Can you do a review on the tb60
Don’t worry! Working on that now!

One question Jeff, at what point do I calibrate the esc? I have the 200 amp HW
That all depends. Normally I calibrate my ESC while setting up the governor.

'lets design a clean sheet model where the canopy doesn't fit over the motor'
