    I have this heli however I don’t think the main head links are a very good design.. is only 4mm of thread engaging into the plastic ball links.. manual shows 23mm rod length and 15mm visible metal at the correct length.. I had a very bad crash and I think the thread popped out of the link mid flight causing the crash

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Рік тому

      That’s not good, I believe I have more than that in my threads. I have never had a problem with a linkage popping off like that or pulling the threads out but I only have a few flights on it so time will tell I’ll definitely keep an eye on that.

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 10 or so flights on mine and game over… I will get longer links for sure, 4mm is not enough in my opinion.. my 700x has 7mm of engagement

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 so I’ve just measured my main linkage rods from swash to blade grips and they are indeed 23mm in length however they are tapered to a point at each end and the tapered section (with no thread) is 1mm at each end.. that means that by having 15mm of visible rod when blades are at 0 degrees set up there is only 3mm in each end that is engaged into the plastic ball links… 3mm is no where near enough in my opinion for these links, they are under a huge amount of stress during flight… it’s a bad design for sure. I would highly recommend changing to longer links that engage deeper into the ball links.. I am going to buy some longer ones 100%… have a look into this and let me know your thoughts mate 👍🏻

    Great review thanks for sharing. What kind of flight times do you get just basic flying nothing crazy?

      Thank you for watching! I fly a 6s 6200 and can easily get 7-9 minutes at 1500 RPM of just flying around and basic 3D.

    What I don't understand is why align chose that kind of ball link pitch slider. Align hasn't used that kind of slider for a very long time and I was very surprised to see it. All other align helis have the dual-held slider mechanisms.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Рік тому +1

      Every few years every company goes back-and-forth on what they think is best or works the best. Having the pit slider that is double sided was their idea of a better tail but like all SAB models (witch the TB line was copied from) they use the say style pitch slider and the tail is incredible.

    What I see over the years is a change from manufacturer's not caring much about ease of maintenance or crash repair. Now that is certainly not the case anymore as a matter of fact it has now become a big selling point. I like the servo layout but tuck the tail servo in more. I'm not sure about the boom mount it's part plastic? You like a good quality canopy I see. All and all I think a person would be getting a good model helicopter with a TB 60.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  Рік тому +2

      They definitely have went to more of a simplistic design, as well as ease of maintenance with all manufacturers. Which I personally really like to see, it is great, especially for people who crash can get back, flying relatively easily with a few parts change, and could even do it at your field and you don’t need to tear the complete helicopter apart to fix some thing, yes! I agree, I wish the tail servo was tucked in more as well! Yes I do! Canopy’s are a big thing for me. I personally think the canopy is the most important and first impression of a helicopter. Then canopies will crack and break while taking them on and off and that just sucks to have a brand new canopy and break it just trying to remove it. The TB60 is great!

    Hi Jeff, super cool video. I have a question for you. I have a Trex 470LT with which I am having a lot of fun. If I had to consider to scale up to a larger category, would you recommend to go with a Trex 550X or the TB60? Thank you. Andrea

    Thanks for the video Jeff. I just finished building and after watching this video I reversed my speed control mounting orientation to match the way you installed. Much happier with this approach. I'd like to see more info about how you do wiring on reviews like this. Let Align know your TB60 reviews cemented my decision while debating which helicopter buy when I decided to upgrade from a 385.

      repied to your comment earlier but can't now see your entry. - there are no spares in the UK pal. I know all of the main suppliers personally and they me - the spares availability in the UK right now, is to put it simple................. shit.

      @@HeliShed you're right. That's because align hasn't made all the spare parts available yet. Just checked their website and it's just a handful of spare available for TB 60-70.

      yes pal - my point is that they shouldn't have sold it in the UK without those spares availability. Buddy of mine has now been waiting for two months for a main drive - utter shit to be frank.@@pouyatavassoli
