The Ford Nugget is very popular in Germany and you get a lot of information on some of the German you tubers , great video , i had the old model 2013 model but it had no toilet like yours , its handy to have the toiled ,makes life easier Regarding Ford , they know nothing about the camping part of the van , the same is true of the VW California The dealers know nothing about the camping part of the van either Its crazy you pay a lot of money for the camper but the dealers who sell it know nothing about it You're right in saying its a lack of training as none of the dealers VW or Ford train their staff anything about the camper part of the vehicle Love the video Thank you 😊
Not sure if you're talking about front screen thermal blind but we have an external blind from Rainbow screens. Very lightweight, no condensation and dries really quick.
I really enjoy the driving experience. I swopped from a new Defender to the Nugget and I admit I love the Nugget more. I find it very quiet to drive with no creaks or rattles. As for space there is room for me, the wife, 5 dogs and a tortoise! We also love the fridge, super cold even on the lowest setting.
Wow 5 dogs and a tortoise! What a life they all have. Yes I actually froze my food on my first trip because I didn’t realise how cold it was. Glad to hear you’re still enjoying your nugget 😃
Hi Katy, Update on the boiler situation your instructions were really helpful but after investigation it turns out there was a kink in the pipe stopping the water getting through. All sorted now so happy camping 😊 look forward to your next post 👍🏻
Although this Ford Transit Custom Nugget Plus has the 24 plate, it still has the previous generation body style. I come from the United States, in Upstate New York, where the Transit Custom has never been sold, but we do have the Ford Transit Connect (2010-2023 model years) & the full-sized Ford Transit (2015-present model years) sold here.
Hi , lovely vlog, will be interesting to watch more as you explore with your nugget. Window blinds question , you can attach one of those travel washing lines( the ones with 2 lines that twist so you can use without pegs) between the 2 handles in cab area, then hang up a colourful throw, use cloths pegs to peg to seat belt at sides so blocks out side windows also. However you will find the window blinds become less annoying once you get the hang of putting them up, put side windows on when door are open, windscreen only needs top attachment to mirror, then trap behind sun visors to hold top and use middle suction, it holds in place with just these, all the side suctions are not really needed.
Hi Fiona, thank you so much what a great idea! Yes I think I’m just super lazy but you are right they are easy to do. Thanks again this has really helped - appreciate it!
looks a great van I did look at this model but couldn't see how it works as a camper with the roof down.. Great design with the high top option But there are plenty of times with the British weather you can't use the roof.. How can you use the kitchen area for cooking or toilet etc..least in a vw California you can use the cooker seated and make full use of the camper and its cupboards fridge etc being seated.. In this model you will be crawling around in the back all the time..
Hi I have an Elddis CV20 since 2020 and full-time. Luckily it came with fitted blinds. My only gripe is space/storage. Having said that I've watched videos where ppl have massive motorhomes and still moan about the lack of space. Nice van I love the colour I've been looking at the Nuggets for some time especially the Plus version. I'm hoping in October at the NEC they will show the New Ford Custom Nugget. Happy travels ...😊 Regards Mac
Hi Mac thanks for the support! Wow Elddis Cv20 are nice! 6meter van with good height, I like the layout of them, must be nice to travel in. Thank you, the colour is called moon dust but yes I’m enjoying it for sure! I went to the NEC show in February but unfortunately they didn’t have any nuggets seems to be such an overlooked camper but they did have Kelsey’s. Anyway hope they have some nugget plus’ for you to look at in October! Thanks Mac and you too 😃
@@katyk627 Hi Katy Yea that's what attracted me to it the fact you could stand up inside and it had a toilet. I was looking at getting a VW California but not having a toilet put me off. Yea I spent 2 days at the NEC parking down at Redditch in a layby used by trucks so pretty safe being an ex trucker myself. The layout is great two long bench seats I convert one side for my bed and have a single topper which is great. The underslung 25litre gas tank is also a plus just like filling up diesel and not having to worry about gas bottles. I was disappointed there weren't any Nuggets at the NEC nor VW's from VW itself! Maybe at the October show? Best wishes Mac
Hey Katy. Really enjoying your videos. I picked up my Nugget Plus last Friday and I am now in The Lake District on my first adventure. I love the van and agree there are so many more positive points. I especially like the built in toilet and the diesel heater, which works great. Enjoy your travels and look forward to your next videos. 👍
Hey again 😃 I am so happy you now have your nugget! What a place to go for your first adventure. Are you going to be making videos? Enjoy every moment nothing beats your first trip! Thank you for your support 😃
No videos for me 😂. I really enjoyed my first trip in the Nugget. It’s a shame the weather wasn’t good enough for paddle boarding, but at least I have identified a couple of great locations for the future. I’m thinking of trying the Peak District next or maybe a more costal place. Where are you planning, Scotland??😂😂. I know everyone talks about the NC500 but I imagine it being packed with Vanlifers 😂😂😂.
@@MrJmolyneux it is time consuming 😅 just would like to look back on my trips in time to come hence why I’m making videos. Yes but not long for warmer days, itching to get out on the paddle board too! I am putting a motor on mine. Glad to hear you enjoyed your first trip! Happy with your nugget so far? I just come back from Pembrokeshire I really recommend as the roads are super easy and some brilliant campsites with stunning views! I’ll upload the video next week. Cannot wait to do NC500! I want to take a month off to do Scotland so won’t be for a while yet…. Stay tuned for that one 😅
Hi we recently purchased a Ford nugget plus and have not been able to work the water heater as I don’t have a manual. You mentioned that you had water heater issues wondering how you resolved them. Many thanks Rosie
Hi Rosie 🙂 what year is your nugget? Reason I ask is because the newer models work slightly different to the older models. Depending on the year I may be able to help…
I've been watching @calicamperfamily who also have a Ford Westfalia Nugget plus but with the hard top, which I fancy. They are English based in Italy by a lake and its interesting seeing them touring Bosnia, Croatia etc. BUT he did say in videos, you can follow the trouble he has had getting problems sorted, mainly down to Warranty van part which is with Ford, camper part Westfalia, and he has had problems getting authorisation for work on problems. 1 garage will only do Ford, next only Westfalia, never mind getting it paid for. Plus Neither garages seem to want to know about problems nor how to fix them if it is the other part of the partnership. Which confirms what others have said re UK. So I'm waiting until I see a Nugget plus hard top reduced in price. Um how long do I have to wait until Warranty is out and prices dip?? 😒😒🙏🙏🙏
Hi Katy, We also have a nugget active same as yours but it is a 22 plate have been trying to find an instruction manual but finding it almost impossible our local Ford dealership have no clue 🤦🏻♀. Appreciate any help I can get.
Hi Rosie, in short there are two boilers the 12v (on the right hand side) and 240v on left hand side where the red light is. To only use the 12v there is a switch that you can’t see but you can hear it click when turned. The thermostat again you can’t see it but it is above. The red light on the right won’t turn on as that is to do with the 240v heater. Once switched 12v boiler on there is a switch to heat the water and give it 15 mins or so and it will heat up. The 240v heater doesn’t take half as long to heat. Let me know if you want me to do a video…
Sorry, a couple of months ago you were in a car accident and nearly died? You look pretty healthy, how long did it take for you to recover from your injuries in hospital. Cars and vans these days have restricted fillers to stop you putting the wrong fuel in the fuel tank, it's not a Ford thing.
Unfortunately yes I hit water on the road and rolled off a 25ft embankment.. but all good now! I’ve recovered well and fast it took a couple of weeks and still a slow journey but better than ever and grateful. Thanks, that is good to know, I didn’t realise this. Just happy I have that on my van because I can be forgetful!
