Hi Katy, as a subscriber it’s great to hear you are back and will be posting more videos soon. I’ll look forward to seeing your travels in the Nugget Plus. I have a short wheel base Ford Transit Custom campervan (not Nugget but a conventional layout). I absolutely love driving the Custom although mine being 130bhp I feel is a little underpowered. As a solo traveller like you, apart from my dogs, I think your bed options are far more comfortable than mine but interested to know when you are solo travelling do you prefer to sleep in the pop top or “downstairs “? Which bed option do you think is more comfortable and is the pop top noisy or cold to sleep in? I think in due course I’ll be going for a Nugget Plus, it’s the layout and longer wheel base that are very appealing to me. Cheers for now.

Thank you for sharing, I've just order a campervan fron nec and this will be my first experience as a campervan owner, the van will not be ready until about March onwards, the base vehicle I ordered is a vw transport from Germany, when arrives, then I'll get it converted into a campervan. Agree adaptive cruise control is great. On my first solo trip in nugget plus at the moment. Decided not to pop top as I think I would struggle to get it down by myself, but even with roof down I love this van. Driving on single track roads in Scotland is easy. Keep filming, happy with any content if it includes the Nugget.

I love the adaptive cruise control, my new Defender covering about the same doesn’t even have it. I look forward to seeing you get the blinds fitted and the approx cost as well as I’m not a huge fan of the screens. How warm was the van in all that snow?

Ford must repair or replace if you return it within 6 months - unless Ford can prove it was not faulty when you bought it.

Hi Katy, Loving your videos on your trips in your nugget 👍🏻 I have a technical question for you wondering if you know where I can locate the pressure switch for the water pump on my 22 nugget active plus, as my one runs continuously when switched on at the control panel. I have seen on the internet that adjusting the pressure switch should resolve this problem. Did your van come with an instruction manual ? Appreciate any suggestions

Although this Ford Transit Custom Nugget Plus has the 24 plate, it still has the previous generation body style. I come from the United States, in Upstate New York, where the Transit Custom has never been sold, but we do have the Ford Transit Connect (2010-2023 model years) & the full-sized Ford Transit (2015-present model years) sold here.

Happy camping. I'm sure you will have loads of adventures. One tip don't store your fire extinguisher under the seat. Get it fixed on a wall. You never know when your need it. Have fun and enjoy the van.

Really impressed with little Nova. She is so well behaved off the lead. My go to area is always Scotland but that’s an extremely long way for you to drive but the views and seafood are to die for. Keep up your travels!

one thing we got is a window vac to suck up the condensation. they are well worth it. and a thermal windscreen cover. for the colder months. and a summer one to keep it cool. i be carefull about storing Diesel in the van, don’t thnk you would be covered with the insurance. happy travels

Lovely video, haven’t been to this area since I was little looks like it is worth a trip. I have 2 recommendations,one is the Western part of lake district, less busy than the eastern lakes. Take a look at Homeside CL in Village of Gosforth, dog friendly, from here you can go to the amazing beach at Drigg, go on the Ratty up Eskdale ( a miniature railway that is dog friendly and has plenty of dog walking opportunities) and go and visit Wasdale with the deepest lake and tallest mountain in England. Second is the Isle of Mull in Scotland, Salen bay campsite is one of my favourites. a Nugget is very suitable for travel on the single track roads.

Another great video Katy. Pembrokeshire is less than 2 hours drive away for me and lots more to explore. As you and Nova enjoy walking you might enjoy The Peak District. I did part of that last year with my dogs, very enjoyable. Also Northumberland has some fantastic beaches and coastal areas….its also relatively quiet. Just a few thoughts for you 👍

I've been watching @calicamperfamily who also have a Ford Westfalia Nugget plus but with the hard top, which I fancy. They are English based in Italy by a lake and its interesting seeing them touring Bosnia, Croatia etc. BUT he did say in videos, you can follow the trouble he has had getting problems sorted, mainly down to Warranty van part which is with Ford, camper part Westfalia, and he has had problems getting authorisation for work on problems. 1 garage will only do Ford, next only Westfalia, never mind getting it paid for. Plus Neither garages seem to want to know about problems nor how to fix them if it is the other part of the partnership. Which confirms what others have said re UK. So I'm waiting until I see a Nugget plus hard top reduced in price. Um how long do I have to wait until Warranty is out and prices dip?? 😒😒🙏🙏🙏

The Ford Nugget is very popular in Germany and you get a lot of information on some of the German you tubers , great video , i had the old model 2013 model but it had no toilet like yours , its handy to have the toiled ,makes life easier Regarding Ford , they know nothing about the camping part of the van , the same is true of the VW California The dealers know nothing about the camping part of the van either Its crazy you pay a lot of money for the camper but the dealers who sell it know nothing about it You're right in saying its a lack of training as none of the dealers VW or Ford train their staff anything about the camper part of the vehicle Love the video Thank you 😊

looks a great van I did look at this model but couldn't see how it works as a camper with the roof down.. Great design with the high top option But there are plenty of times with the British weather you can't use the roof.. How can you use the kitchen area for cooking or toilet etc..least in a vw California you can use the cooker seated and make full use of the camper and its cupboards fridge etc being seated.. In this model you will be crawling around in the back all the time..

Hi Katy, Update on the boiler situation your instructions were really helpful but after investigation it turns out there was a kink in the pipe stopping the water getting through. All sorted now so happy camping 😊 look forward to your next post 👍🏻

Hi Katy, We also have a nugget active same as yours but it is a 22 plate have been trying to find an instruction manual but finding it almost impossible our local Ford dealership have no clue 🤦🏻‍♀. Appreciate any help I can get.

Not sure if you're talking about front screen thermal blind but we have an external blind from Rainbow screens. Very lightweight, no condensation and dries really quick.

Love your van and dog. Northumberland is great for campervanning. Not just the coast, inland too. Kielder Forest, the national park, Cheviot hills etc.

Hi I have an Elddis CV20 since 2020 and full-time. Luckily it came with fitted blinds. My only gripe is space/storage. Having said that I've watched videos where ppl have massive motorhomes and still moan about the lack of space. Nice van I love the colour I've been looking at the Nuggets for some time especially the Plus version. I'm hoping in October at the NEC they will show the New Ford Custom Nugget. Hi , lovely vlog, will be interesting to watch more as you explore with your nugget. Window blinds question , you can attach one of those travel washing lines( the ones with 2 lines that twist so you can use without pegs) between the 2 handles in cab area, then hang up a colourful throw, use cloths pegs to peg to seat belt at sides so blocks out side windows also. However you will find the window blinds become less annoying once you get the hang of putting them up, put side windows on when door are open, windscreen only needs top attachment to mirror, then trap behind sun visors to hold top and use middle suction, it holds in place with just these, all the side suctions are not really needed.

I really enjoy the driving experience. I swopped from a new Defender to the Nugget and I admit I love the Nugget more. I find it very quiet to drive with no creaks or rattles. As for space there is room for me, the wife, 5 dogs and a tortoise! We also love the fridge, super cold even on the lowest setting.
