Watched the vid last week but forgot to comment. Love that you touch on all aspects, not only explaining what, but why. You deciding to come to YT was the BEST decision ever!
Very informative! Thank you. Your aroid mix is so pretty.....functional and beautiful. Love your daring, glass "no drainage" pot angle, so lovely. Seems very satisfying to water with that squeeze bottle :)
This is such a satisfying video - loved watching you make your soil mix/pot up plants/transition plants from moss to soil. Great content as always. I hope your wrist feels better!
I have been following on Instagram and was dying to see how you plant your glass containers, so Thankyou! You are awesome! I live in Coquitlam, and work in Burnaby so frequent all the nurseries! Xo
U are definitely one of my favorite plant youtuber. So through.. I always learn something new and u r very entertaining to boot..thank you for sharingyou knowledge.
@@unplantparenthood I am watching your other videos about the anthuriums. I just received my very first one today. Anthurium crystallinum. It is beautiful. I really enjoy your videos and I learn a lot. Great job 👏
Wow thank you for this ! I love every detail and time you put in ! I learned so much from you and love all your videos !! It was the best hour I spent learning anything
Can you do a educational video on what you do step by step when you receive imports or new plants ? Just the process of acclimating it and growing it into your environment. I’ve been wanting to import some plants but am worried they wouldn’t acclimate correctly when I arrive . I really love your videos ! Thank you for them !
literally making tater tots w queso and salsa à-la Unplantparenthood, so this was the perfect upload time !! loving the planty videos and pudge content !!
Omg I haven't had fully loaded tots in weeks. Thank you for reminding me that I haven't been getting a well balanced meal!! And THANK YOU for watching!! 🥰
Hi Melissa! Unfortunately I don't because I've never made it myself since it's so hard to rinse out all the substrates without having a hose :( But my friend Jing has a highlight on her Instagram here: instagram.com/stories/highlights/17885497400317371/?hl=en Fern also has a video on it! ua-cam.com/video/2TN4cVdNlGg/v-deo.html
This was a super helpful vid, and Pudge was his usual helpful self too. Hope your wrist heals up fast - arnica and hot and cold compress should do the trick. I sprain the hell outta my right ankle almost annually. 😫
Oh gosh I'm sorry to hear that!! A recurring injury is never fun. I have bad wrists and fingers in general from so many sprains playing volleyball. 😓 And I'm happy you enjoyed the video! 💖
Is all the components washed first (Leca, spag moss)? I saw your video where you boiled the spag and your Leca. Just got to the part you rinse your perlite. So, this mixture you use for everything but begonias. The glass vase type repot. Does the Leca at the bottom help from overwatering?
Yes- all of the ingredients are prewashed and prepped beforehand! LECA is thoroughly rinsed of dust, spag moss is sterilized by boiling, and the perlite is sifted and rinsed. I use this mix for begonias, but I add a lot more potting soil and worm castings since I find them to be pretty thirsty plants and heavy feeders. I add LECA at the bottom of glass vases because it naturally wicks water upward into the soil, and also prevents plant roots from sitting in a pool of water. :)
Thanks for answering our Qs! 💚 Figaros has put together baggies of coco husk for me, so I bet they'd be willing to put it/other mediums in our own containers - but possibly not during Covid times?
Ohh that's so good to know!! I wish Figaros was closer to me, but to be honest if they did eventually offer amendments by the pound I would totally make the trip!
Right now I'm just using sort of a standard indoor potting mix from a local nursery, but I also use Pro Mix indoor soil! If you wanna splurge, Fox Farms is the way to go!
Hi Charmaine it’s me Charmaine 🤣 I just love saying it so stupid of me but anyway really enjoyed this video going to have to watch it again with so much to intake thank you so much you and your little cute doggie have a blessed blessed day🧤👒🪴NYC🇹🇹
Hi Plant. I hope you’re doing well and your wrist gets better. I heard you say in other videos that you use pom or I’m not sure how to spell it but what is it Thanks for your information of videos
Hi Christine! I'm sorry for the late reply, but pon is short for lechuzapon :) It's basically just a growing medium made of different kind of rocks! You can learn more about it here: www.google.com/search?q=lechuzapon&oq=lechuzapon&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i10l2j0i10i457j0i10l6.3027j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Loved this video I’ve been repotting plants in glass jars like you do cause I love your aesthetic and had so many questions this answered all of them! 🤗
Ohh that's so nice to hear! How are you liking the drainage hole-less potting so far? If there are any other questions you have that I didn't answer, please feel free to let me know. I'd be happy to answer them! 💚
I heard there was a movement to not use sphagnum moss because its not sustainable (?) Maybe you can do a future video on other options or alternatives of substrates ?
I actually talked about the sustainability issue of sphagnum moss a bit in my sphagnum moss video. And I also did a segment on how to keep reusing it so that you don’t need to keep re-buying. I also did a propagations video so you can see what other substrates I use to propagate and grow in besides sphagnum moss. :) Sphagnum peat moss (which is decomposed sphagnum moss) is the substrate that is highly unsustainable, and unfortunately most soil mixes contain it. I think the only way to avoid this completely is to grow purely in semi-hydro.
@@unplantparenthood oh perfect!! My clarinervium is so ugly and sad .. the leaf blad tip is like eating the plant away, and my edges of the queen is all crispy🥲

You're too kind!! 💚💚💚
Coco coir is more sustainable than peat moss too. Which is why it’s a better option too. ❤️
I’m having my “wwcd what would charmaine do” moments and referring to old videos. Always the best.

What were you sprinkling on the roots??
Hi Alisa! I think you might be talking about diatomaceous earth! I use it to deter fungus gnats :)

Where do you get your mister
How do you decide between regular moss and sheet moss ?
Sheet moss doesn't retain as much humidity, so I only really use on top of soil or as a decorative moss pole
Fox Farm Happy Frog or Ocean Forest?
Happy Frog is my preferred!
Would calatheas be good to use vermiculite?
I’ve heard a lot of good things about using vermiculite with Calatheas since they’re so thirsty! I actually don’t own any Calatheas because they hate me 🥲

Is that sprayer battery operated?
It has a USB charger!

You can find sheet moss from Gardenworks, Wing Wong Nursery, Arts Nursery and WIG!
