I had no idea that this song was local or Joel plaskett at all!! I thought it was popular around North America when I was younger but I showed it to my American (Maine) friend and he's never heard it. Damn
It got at least as far as the rest of Canada. I've heard it in NL, BC, and ON... never spent too much time in the other 10.
Haha, even amongst Canadians it's not super well known. But it's definitely on of my go-to songs when introducing people from away to canadian culture

Reminds me of my days in university at Dalhousie, spending nights at the Seahorse, Maxwell's Plum and the Tickle Trunk, wandering home to rez, cursing the hills of Halifax. Saw Joel a few weeks ago at the Confed centre in Charlottetown, just amazing talent, a delight to listen to the stories he tells on stage, a good Maritime boy.

Went to the Calgary Folk Music Festival on the 21st and he was on before City & Colour (who i went to the festival to see!) and I really liked him! He was super good live!! And don't even get me started on how AMAZING City & Colour was!!!!!
