Great info thank you. I have a '13 Puma Utility and at the moment every rut and ridge is a rattle and judder. 90% on road so need to look at the suspension.
Great episode thanks for the Shock comparison, I’m running the fox shocks Alive springs and Bilstein advanced damper and it’s great. Videography on the welding with Niki is mega. Any chance of a brake comparison as well ? 🤞
Dave, I emailed with questions, haven’t heard back. Where do you source your vehicles? Does a client that wants one build by Mahker, need to provide you with the 110 or do you supply and build to spec? My wife is pestering me to get one but I have very specific desires. Can you help????
Don't you find upgraded steering dampers destroy the already pants design drop arm balljoint in minutes as there not man enough? I always go HD arms with lemforder balljoints and disco 1 droparm set up when a customer wants a fancy SD fitting. Air springs OK till they leak or the system fails, not good if your in the middle of nowhere.
I have a question please. I can't find any specs on the airbags in terms of size/dimensions. I'm building my own custom air suspension system with my own specs as I'm abroad. Can you help with that?
Great video!! One question: on the trials vehicle, are those modified P38a exhaust headers?? If so, what a great way to go to get headers on a Defender RV8.
Hi Dave, great info on the shocks, thanks very much for that. One question please, some of the replacement shocks appear to come with the locating washers (ones with the short spiggot, some have spherical bush seat and some containment) that engage the turrets and spring seat on front axle and axle side lower on the rear. Some seem to re-use LR std washers subject to the respective new bush config or appear to have bespoke. Fox ones come without as far as I can tell and the new bushes appear too large for std LR locating washers? How do you guys address this? (I have been lead to believe that not using bush locating washers at all can cause the shock to wander and the shaft wear the hole on the vehicle side? )
The other day, my wife excitedly asked me if I’d like to prepare my 90 and take it down to Morocco to do the Santana Trophy. As part of that process, I’ve started to wonder what things I need to be considering to run in sand and rocks and if I need to be doing anything special for an expedition. If anyone has an experience of the sandy, rocky stuff I’d appreciate the help!
@@wearemahker thanks Dave. I’ll give you a bell early next week if that’s ok? For the avoidance of doubt, the bit about my wife’s excitement was a lie. 😁
Please Dave... Damper, not Dampener (unless you're from the US) and it's never a shock absorber, the spring takes the shock, the damper damps the springs energy. There's always one..... 😂
Another week of great content variety. You guys knock it out of the park.
Presented like a pro really educational and well thought out, thanks for doing this chanel Dave ,
Thank you!
Loving the welding montage clips 👍💪💪💪
Glad you like them!

I've recently installed Pro-comp 2.5 remote res + airbags on my chopped Patrol here in Australia. Its over 3T and now drives like a car.
That’s so good to hear
Fox Shocks FTW!!!
Got them on my Disco 2. 👍🏽
Awesome 😎

Ok… we’ll add it to the list. Thanks for watching
good info as always
Thanks so much
Nice IWC Dave.
It’s my favourite 😎
Dave and Nicky at their best…I’d love a set of those pre-runner 2.65’s but how much are they? ❤ Mahker

Sorry I’ve been very busy on builds right would you mind resending the email please thanks Dave.
Dave, re sent the email on the contact portion of your website. Cheers
What would you recommend for a 130 with a heavy camper build?

The tractive suspesion you showed is that the track line or the touring line?
Answered in this weeks Q and A video for you
Fox have let me down too many times with mountain bike suspension for me to trust them over Bilstein for my Defender.
My wife says the same thing about fitting windscreens! 🤣

How much, ball park is an LS3 plus 8L transmission?
Do you do stuff on series 3s too?
If it’s made in Solihull we’ll work on it!
Hi Dave here it’s actually in the pipe line we’re developing a shock for series 2/3 with stock and upgraded power.
What brand of air suspension do you use?
Cracking suspension breakdown. Who was the firm doing the windscreen?
Thanks Arch
We use telford auto window screens.
@@wearemahker Dave, many thanks!
Hi Dave,
Do you have any plans on doing conversion kits to make Defenders ULEZ compliant buddy?
Kind regards
Tony
We sure do we offer the latest V8s that our ulez compliant.
@@wearemahker Eeeeeek.......I meant the standard TDCI lol
@@LRDefender1968 ummm I’m sure there was a Add Blue kit but it’s not something we offer yet.
@@wearemahker That's correct Dave, there are companies installing the system for about 6 grand, not heard good reports though :((

Yep, agree - they’re dampers. That being said, I’m keen to try an air ride suspension particularly off road.
