The Western side of Moreton Island has always been something special and I have many fond memories camping and chasing tailor and bream from just about anywhere on the surfside. Those days the "park strangers" only bothered to come out on public holidays but hounded those without the ribbon flagging to mark your permitted campsite, this was 30 years ago (don't get me started on campfires). I eventually wised up and only visited by boat chasing winter snapper off the Cape and cruising back to the south of Bulwer to fillet the catch, have a refreshing swim before sleeping on the boat to avoid the pesty horse and sand flies. Beautiful clear water and squeaky sand and great memories, except in a S/E blow that made the trip back to the Spinnaker Sound an adventure.
Such a great spot! We love it, it’s hard work camping on the beach with the small swell constantly rolling in, and a lot of midgies. But all in all one of our favourite places to fish and camp. Some real trophy fish around that area

Thanks very much mate, yeah a shame it’s a bit confusing where to camp, luckily we didn’t have to much to pack up but it was still a bloody mission haha, rain wasn’t even forecast that weekend so it took us by surprise. Still a ripper weekend, we will definitely do it again!

Another good vid mate with some nice fish landed 🎣 and invest in a hoochie tarp and some bumnuts Adam they are very light weight quick and easy to string out over the center con to the rails mate if needed in the rain, will keep you guys dry along with your gear 👍 I carry one in my center con all the time mate best investment yet 🎣

We camped at the awrecks area just north of tangaloom mate, but there is different camps the whole way along that western side of the island

Great video guys! I live in the Redlands but always drive sunny coast or higher to fish but I'm starting to see more and more cracker fish vids from the local!!! Those are massive blueys 👌 is it outside or inside of Moreton and the north or south? We used just drift the combie shelf up the north end but nothing like that ever come overboard haha. Keep up the good local vids
Inside Moreton mate, you’ll find them on most rocks, ledges and structure throughout the bay and also up where you are

I’m looking at taking my old Reef Ranger up there and putting it in where you did . Did you have much problems getting yours up there. My boat is fibreglass it’s about 20.6f

Hey mate, mines a bit over 2T on the trailer, it’s pretty heavy. I have no trouble going over at Tewantin, and up the beach but only at low tide. I think that’s the best way. Otherwise you can go to Tin can or bullock point and use the ramp, you just have to cross the wide bay bar that’s all.
Have a claratyne before you eat the prawns, will help 👌 good content, always a good watch.

Hey mate yes your freezer is included in your bag limit, if they suspect you of overfishing a species and want to get nasty and they can search your house freezer 🎣

We were booked in at comburo point to camp, but it’s a little bit confusing. Be sure to take 2 anchors as you will not be able to beach your boat, a bit of swell rolls in there
