Scream VI is a 2023 American slasher film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. It is the sequel to Scream (2022) and the sixth installment in the Scream film series. The film stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Hayden Panettiere, and Courteney Cox, all reprising their roles from previous installments, alongside Jack Champion, Henry Czerny, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Devyn Nekoda, Tony Revolori, Josh Segarra, and Samara Weaving. Film series star Neve Campbell announced she would not be returning as Sidney Prescott due to not being pleased with the offer presented to her, making this the first film in the series not to feature the character.
Scream VI is the third film of the series to be set outside the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, moving the location to New York City, and follows a new Ghostface who targets the surviving members of the "Woodsboro Legacy Attacks." The film combines the violence of the slasher genre with elements of black comedy and a "whodunit" mystery, and satirizes the trends of film franchises and subversion of audience expectations.
Scream VI premiered at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in Manhattan on March 6, 2023, and is set to be theatrically released in the United States and Canada on March 10, by Paramount Pictures. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the kills and performances.

First, loving that Mexico '86 t-shirt, as an Argentine because we won that year. Second, "Ready or Not" is an amazing super fun movie, underrated in my opinion, I own the blu-ray. It made my selective collection. Third, when I go to the movies on my own I do it on weekdays not weekends to avoid too many people. So, I'm seeing "Scream 6" between Monday and Wednesday next week. I don't know how I'm going to avoid spoilers until then 😱

Yeah this was a good time. Even my least favorite scream movies aren’t even really bad movies they just aren’t at the top of my list. I had a really quiet theater so not much reaction from my audience. Get ready for scream 7 as they’ve already announced it.

Yeah that could work! I mean, we DID use the "fandom" angle in Scream 5 and the "being famous" angle with Scream 4, but I'm sure there is something there. Now with the TikTok generation there could be some social commentary there

Saw this movie finally today. Not gonna spoil it but the plot is so underwhelming especially the third act. It looked like they improvised a new script after Neve's refusal to come back. I guessed the killers less than 30 minutes into the movie and I never could do that before. And I've watched the first 4 films multiple times. And I really liked the 5th movie but this one's plot has more holes than cheese. I missed Neve Campbell 🤦🏻♀️

actually I may argue the Marvel movies have NOT been “more of the same”. The quality have drastically declined since End Game. That being says. SCREAM has been the most consistent quality of all the slasher franchises. Saw this Scream VI last night in a packed opening night theatre. It was a great!

Not the best Brandon. This review is quite flat. Usually you get to the core of the movie but here it seems you are holding back. I guess I would wait for for Cody Leach to give his review.

@@BrandoCritic by core I mean the core cinematically not thematically. the theme you talked about. there is Ghostface who kills and in the end the mask is off. And of course all the other stuff. But I do not think you concluded if this is a good movie or not. Does this movie have a good story and does it tell it well.
You did not use the words. Now is this movie worth a watch ? that gives you away. And Neve Campbell is a Canadian. No mention of that as well. You always mention when the movie has a connection to Canada.

Well, I would argue that I did conclude that this is a good movie and that it has a good story and tells it well. I DID say "but is this movie actually worth watching"... a LITTLE different. Neve Campbell isn't the movie... I thought that her being Canadian would be irrelevant to this video and to be honest, it didn't even cross my mind. Either way, I reviewed this movie in the most honest way I could possible. Sorry if you didn't like it, I tried my best
