@@davidbright8913That depends on your definition of checking a player like Jalen Brown? He is a Superstar player that can drop 30 on you on any given night. I think it's more of containing him so he doesn't get extremely hot because he is going to get his points regardless lol
Mikal playing the 2 and guarding other SGs = the opposing team's SG is gonna have a bad night
I absolutely love d idea of Bridges n Anunoby defending da wings/perimeter.
I love it too but Donte was great next to Brunson. Like our 2/3 spot was covered. We really have a hole at PF/C spot. Bridges is great but positionally he doesn't fit where we have the biggest deficiency

@@franciscodiaz3892 I think I already did. Donte was a good fit as a wing next to JB - he was one of the best 3pt shooters in the league and stretched the floor and he was a good slasher and athletic finisher at the rim and played above average defense. That spot was covered. PF spot was an issue. Randle always bombed in the playoffs and is volatile, he doesn't stretch the floor. Bridges stretches the floor and dependable but he doesn't give us interior presence and rebounding that we need. Our biggest weakness with Donte, JB, OG, Randle, Mitch wasn't Donte or OG. It was Randle.

@@franciscodiaz3892 i didn't say he was... but he is a good wing defender elite 3pt shooter and can finish at the rim - for the price we pay him, he is an excellent starter for us. this is my point - we don't need wings with OG/Donte. Randle is our weak spot because of injuries and inconsistencies.

Mikal was the third option on a Suns team that made the Finals. Can’t wait to see what he does on a Knicks team as the 3/4 option.

it's a little steep price to pay. but I think it's going to work. You do what you got to do.
yeah, it was a VERY steep price.. but I kind of trust Rose. So, it means there were no realistic trades for other stars like Giannis or Embiid or anything of that caliber. And we are losing contracts and picks, so we HAD to make the best trade available.
Nets, Knicks should finalize their trade with including the Jazz and make it a 3 team trade.

Bridges is a perfect example of a miscast franchise player. He is very talented, he is durable, he is a team player, but he is NOT a superstar. Once he was the focus of offense, his efficiency declined, his defense dropped - all signs he cannot carry that load. BUT in NYK, he will be #3 option and he will be perfect in that role. I am certain he will become a great defender again, I am fairly sure he will become again highly efficient 50/80/40 guy and he can give us 22-23 points and maybe 4-5 assists, a block and close over 1 steal a game. He is perfect for stretching the floor and running fast-break, defending the best perimeter player of the opposing team, etc.
Soooo, Cam Thomas became the Nets best player and as a Celtics fan I’m supposed to be concerned about Bridges? 💚☘️

I have never seen a all nba allstar player get so much disrespect. People say oh he didn't show up in the playoffs. Well this was the first year Joel actually showed up during the playoffs. It's crazy

Doesn't really make sense because they still got a haul for him. He just didn't really want to be in Brooklyn and he was in a bad team..
My point is if he was putting g up crazy numbers they wouldn’t have been willing to move him at all.
