    Hard to say with time lapse but I'd say cold seize with as much smoke and little warm-up time from when it was started/pulled out of the snow pile. Again could be way off. I don't touch my throttle until it reads 100deg.... which is well past "warm up". Hope it's not down for long!

      @@MuskokaFreerider yeah I feel that it's great that Doo has put that tech into the sleds but also feel it's not nearly long enough. Especially if you put any weight on the machine, frozen track, etc which adds to the load and the makes the engine work harder. Then if it's on/off in heat cycles without a good warm-up.... it will go pop just about the time yours did. Also when it's still in break in... it's running fat which means more gas/oil that needs to try to burn more than normal. At proper temp an e-tec doesn't smoke anywhere near like what I saw on video. Like I said... over the years have just learn to not touch the throttle untill it's about 100deg. Prior to temp gauges... it was when the hand warmers got hot.

    • @leftyeh6495

    • @leftyeh6495
      @leftyeh6495 3 роки тому

      There's a lot of truth to the "just ride it".
      They have a break-in mode on the ECU that over-oils. After the first few minutes of run time the rings are about as seated as they get, bearings have spun a few thousand times, etc.
      Honestly I think the belt needs more break-in than the motors anymore.
      Once you start with stuff like forged pistons then you need to pay more attention to warm-up and over-all heat as you ride. Stock cast pistons with skidoo remote t-stat is really good at managing heat and there's not many failures.

    Its a odd feeling going from a turbo sled to a NA sled. You’re used to all that power an track speed. Then you just get all the noise and no track speed. It always sucks when someone rips a line into the unknown you have no choice but to follow. Happened last year an ended up in a creek with 55 degree slope on both sides. Heart of av season and had no choice but to creek bang stuck after stuck until 2am. Nearly froze soaking wet.

    Damn. I really do want to take a trip to US/CA sometime to ride in the mountains. I live in Sweden and got a Ski summit 146 2015 and it's in the shop getting repaired n serviced after a crash last day of last season. My fingers are itching watching your vids but untill my sled is fixed your vids have scratched that itch.

    I can relate to tired and frustrated. I can’t make my sled go where I want sometimes. Also getting stuck back to back sucks.

    When it died down I was like RIP motor #1. Then you tried to pull the cord and it didn't move. Suspicions confirmed. Shit happens. Always good to have some friends around to assist.

    at least it blew up while still in warranty period. I used to have a formula 3 600 triple I swear was cursed. After a couple rebuilds I just sold it and the poor guy who bought it put a different engine in it and it blew up before 1k miles. Stupid fun sled though.

    Anyone else think that Doo didnt sound right from the start? It just sounded off. Ironic that a lot of people thought the Polaris would be the one to blow lol.

      It probably didnt’t seize because it’s a bad engine. The oil pump could have stopped working which i think is a more known issue

      dude i totally agree in his first video of the year he goes “something sounds off”

      Definitely believe that it didn’t sound right from the beginning! I wonder if he did the mandatory “recall” that Doo put on the sleds, (oil pumps were installed on the 2022s without the flow rates being calibrated in the ECM).

      Probably ought to let it warm up before you rev the piss out of it

    • @zachstein2538
      @zachstein2538 3 роки тому

      @@garrettstayton i’m sure matt let it warm up but when u let it idle like that yes it’s gonna smoke a lot and plus there’s not track stand to let it properly warm up

    Sorry to see your 22 sled go down. Fortunately it was on the trail. Yeah, I'm not impressed with the 22 build quality. Hopefully the dealership can get ya back out soon?

    LOL "oh my god man" Sorry but that was hilarious.
    Its definitely frustrating getting stuck all day. Be it cause of the sled or snow conditions, its definitely not a fun day.

    I might be almost as disappointed as you are with the kaboom'd 850. I was looking forward to some feedback between the Polaris and Ski-Doo. Having the hardest time deciding what to snowcheck this spring.
