- No other car captures the essence and optimism of the 1950s quite like the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado with its “Jet Age” styling and massive proportions that remain astonishing today. Available in Biarritz convertible and Seville hardtop forms, along with the hand-built Brougham four-door hardtop, the Eldorado series was Cadillac’s undisputed image leader for 1959, represented handsomely by this example finished in Persian sand paint over similar upholstery, complemented by a power-operated brown convertible top. Abundant standard features on the Eldorado included a heater/defroster, fog lamps, air-assisted rear suspension, a radio with rear speaker, power windows, a six-way power front seat, power door locks and whitewall tires. Power was provided by Cadillac’s 390 CI V-8 engine, delivering 345 HP with a trio of two-barrel carburetors and teamed with a 4-speed Hydra-Matic Drive automatic transmission. Just four options were available for the Eldorado, including air conditioning, cruise control, the Autronic Eye automatic headlight dimmer and E-Z Eye glass, along with a no-cost bucket seat option for the Biarritz. Both the Biarritz convertible and Seville hardtops carried a lofty base price of $7,401 when new, and as such, only 1,320 examples of the Biarritz were produced for 1959, including the example offered here. In addition to the Eldorado’s renowned ride quality, comfortable cruising is assured with power steering and power brakes, as well as desirable amenities like a pushbutton-operated radio, in-dash clock and the optional Autronic Eye automatic headlamp dimmer atop the dash. In addition to a nicely presented engine bay with proper finishes and components, the carpeted trunk houses a covered spare, roadside jack and boot cover with storage pouch. Riding on a set of period-style whitewall tires mounting steel wheels with Cadillac’s dramatic full-size wheel covers, this rare and immensely collectible 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible enjoys consistent collector demand and instant recognition.

When you say Cadillac, this is what everyone thinks.
These old cars are works of art.
Now this a car, not some cheap electric car. Peer power.
Simply beautiful.!! This is what a real car is!!👍👍
Right after you got that big promotion, became a director at the bank or a partner at the law firm, this was what you went out and bought. In 1959 this was the aspirational car everybody dreamed of owning. If you wanted to let the world know you had arrived and had money to burn, you bought a Cadilac convertible... WITH AIR CONDITIONING!
Yes, Bucket seats... that's the Biarritz. American Dream Machine..have always loved it .
Stunning Eldorado
Nothing displays over the top opulence of the fifties better than the 1959 Cadillac, especially the Eldorado Biarritz convertible!!! This rare Caddy is gorgeous inside & out with all of the extra chrome accents & of course those majestic tailfins!!!
It's great to see a video from you, I hope that you are doing well!!! Thanks for sharing this exciting video!!! 👍👍🙂
It’s not a car it’s beauty of the art. 0:53
She is absolutely gorgeous!
Back when Detroit made cars!
Cadillac still makes some great cars like the Blackwing!!
Arguably the best looking car ever made.
My grandfather ran his own business, Schenk Oil out of Rudolf Wisconsin. He did quit well for himself richest guy in town at the time. less than 400 people. He eventually had a Cadillac after his 1957 Nomad he bought new was traded or sold. He always had at least 2 cars.
My personal dream car!
What a beaut and fin *HEAVEN!* 😍
One of my favorite fifties cars . For me, either a nice shade of blue or green with light grey interior.😊
Absolutely STUNNING automobile! Love the fins of the '59 Caddy! Enjoyed the music too!
Such a gem of a car but would prefer it without the air suspension.
I can't seem to get enough of these fantastic American V8's of yesteryear.
I fortunately have my memories of the few I owned but miss them much and can't replace them not even one of them.
Doubt if any of these old American V8's would be available in the new South Africa.
NOW THATS MY FAVORITE CAR EVER!😊😊😊
DAMN!!!! 😁😁😁😁😁 Love me some Persian Sand fins baby!!!
This car looks like plane from rear. So cool
Excellent music too.
Drape Shape , with ACRES of CHROME !!!
They don’t make elegant cars anymore 😢 This one’s better than new. Paint it fantastic, original paint dulled quickly and requires constant waxing.
What a wonder on wheels! Cars today seem so boring compared to that classy chassis.
dream dream dream beuty car cadillac !🥰
Another gem from across the pond, most likely Sweden.
Almost all of them are in Sweden. This one is Norwegian actually
@@youngexotics2155well I knew it was one of those Scandinavian countries😉! I know a gentleman who just reciently bought a '58 DeSoto wagon from Sweden. They love their American Iron over there, it truly is Fin-land.
That GM had the effrontery to produce such a vehicle is an everlasting blot on America.
P.S. My 1964 Corvair Monza had the exact same seats.
Cadillac (GM) also used the seats out of the Cimarron for the Eldorado Touring Coupe.
TOO BAD ABOUT THE "AIR RIDE", A NEVER ENDING PROBLEM.
They need to retro build this car
Y para qué rebajarlo de altura?? 😢
Original air suspension. It’s lowered after standing still for 2 days
@@youngexotics2155 Thank you for your response, I was unaware of this system.
What does Young Exotics mean?
Thanks for the question! It’s actually a name I came up with, being that I’m a young person, only 17 and loving exotic cars!
This makes me sad to get into my car
Air suspension seems to be seriously leaking. Gorgeous otherwise
Didn’t some kid accidentally impale himself on the back of one of those fins and that’s why they discontinued that Design the next year?
Don't know, but the '60 also has huge fins👍
No.
People died all the time in car crashes- they didn’t stop design based on a couple deaths.
Basically the customers of the day had their fill of fins on everything, so they went back to small, then went away.
Like the rocket ship points in front - think of the 57 belair with the rubber points.
Air ride🤦🤢🤮
Terrible Music choice
