Yes! I made it in to the first 100 subscribers! Love your work and I know your channel will blow up because of your down to earth and honest opinions etc 😊
For me, the comparison of heart rate to pace of both shoes would be interesting. And even more interesting would be the comparison to the Vaporfly 2 or 3 or Alphafly 3. I don't care about the rest, I want the fastest shoe with the lowest heart rate
@divisionbyzero7916 I think that comparison would only really be useful in a lab situation where you can control for all the other factors- and even with that the heart rate would only change but a couple of beats per minute which would be within error ranges anyway
@jogoncrago No, lab is a bit of an exaggeration. Just run the same section of the route, e.g. 1km in the same direction and then change shoes. And compare the whole thing in the heart rate monitor app. That's enough. That would put you ahead of all the other UA-cam channels.
@divisionbyzero7916 it's a nice thought but in reality it's just impossible to get any useful results - my results might not even apply to your running either
@devanteross2838 i think they're more similar on paper but in feel the evo is much more cushioned and softer with more focus on easy running- the mach has more of a snappy speedy feel
Interesting chat on the sizing, I have the Boston 12, Adios pro 3 & Prime all in size 11 but went 11.5 on the Takumi Sen 10, just felt I didn’t have enough space in the toe box to run the 11.
Hey there! Thanks a bunch for the detailed review. I have a quick suggestion, though. If you like it, feel free to take it. This is your first video that I saw in my suggestions, and I clicked on it because I’ve been watching reviews on UA-cam about the Evo SL for the past day. When I clicked on your video and saw the price of $240, I immediately thought about the other videos I’ve seen, which were saying it was around $150. I thought maybe you’re from Australia, but when I checked your detailed page information, it didn’t show that this account is from Australia. That was a bit confusing. But after hearing your accent, I realized that you’re talking about the Australian dollar. My advice is that UA-cam is a global platform, and it’s best to make videos that target a global audience. I hope this makes sense to you.
@sdar6273 appreciate that- I should include the USD price in there as well- gets pretty tricky chatting about value when the conversion isn't the same but worth mentioning it 😁
Imma wait for better colorways. Luckily just ordered a pair of pink Superblast 2 in my size 12 into my rotation, so I can be more choosey going forward.
@jogoncrago I'm aiming for that yellow colorway. I like the others, but don't love them. I want my running shoes, road and mountain bikes to be flashy colorways.
Yes, adidas sizing is out. Boston 12 in size US9.5, Adios 3 in size US10.5, Takumi Sen 10 in US10. So for the Evo SL, would you recommend US10? I'm confused and scared to order the wrong size. Great video
From my chats with the tech rep it sounds like Boston stays but with a better upper- it'll definitely crowd the lineup a bit but hopefully they hold enough differences to stay relevant
@ ah yeah maybe they’re gonna make the new Boston more a competitor with the Superblast, even if it’s a plated (rods) shoe so still slightly different.
WAY better than the Superblast 1 and any other non-plated shoe I have. In fact the only shoe I’d rate above them is the Prime X Strung 1. Adidas is killing it.
@@jogoncragoAgree on that plus it returns more from the ground than the SB. To me the SB is solid but not spectacular. The Evo SL is spectacular and I can run any speed in them. Also a much better deal at $50 less than SB in the USA.
So very similar like my Brooks Ghost 16... but with less drop. I think the Ghost alone can take me to go for longer distance and faster pace, then I'll need a different speed trainer and a long run shoe aside. The middle distances of 8 to 15 km I will do with sth like Ghost 16, mostly without plates or rods. For interval and short speed runs I have a cheap 29€ shoe with very thin and absolutely non supporting sole, can't even heelstrike with em.😅 But when I get to longer speed and interval sessions I have to look for something very direct and aggressive but better quality than 29€😅
@GeeTee88 probably right there- nothing will do exactly the same thing better but i reckon there's now better value trainers that can do similar enough things in a rotation
@ I can’t wait to try on the EVO SL, it’s coming on Tuesday. I love the Boston 12’s and the Prime X strung. Would you say it could be use as a speed shoe or more of an easy, daily trainer?
@Matt-qx2ug gut feel says that this should be significantly better (bouncier more comfortable) with the lighstrike pro vs eva foam. Novablast jumps to $240 as well so no price advantage there either
@jogoncrago as someone who was going to get the Novablast 5, but was venturing into Adidas territory (grabbed the Adizero SL for $85 to check it out) this makes the choice more difficult 😂
@noscop444 a little softer- still not mushy but it doesn't have that kind of immediate snap back that can make the superblast feel quite firm. Rocker smooths it out as well

Kinda tempted to get it - looks so clean haha
@@SotaMaehara gonna be hard to get hands on it- might become as elusive as the superblast
Nice review. Might have to pick up a pair. Superblast is great but yeah I don't need all that stack height and protection and prefer lower stack
@JoutarouKuujou1 the 240 price point is hard to look past as well 😁
@@jogoncrago I got mine for £130 with a friends staff discount ;)

Yeah sen 10 for the narrowness I reckon could cop a half size up- I got away with the standard size but could go either way I

Definitely more premium- smoother and bouncier, better upper and more cushioned and rockered
