Hi I'm making something similar, I'm going real cheap. My LED reel is single colour cool white or 6500k temp & 5 meters or 16.5 feet of silicone covered 300 LEDS. My power solution will hopefully be one max two 18650's. The vinyl cover looks so great. Any tips or things to avoid? How has your system fared? Thanks for your upload

Cool idea man. Thats smart using the vinyl as a diffuser. Would look even better if you used individually addressable LEDs, and 60LEDs per meter. Thanks for sharing.

vinyl isn't transparent though...
Not 100% transparent but the light still shows through less effectually.

This is brilliant, you could consider getting a small frame bag to hide all the electronics (battery, recever ect).

Yea, the battery should be in a waterproof frame bag. The led lights could already be waterproof depending on the manufacturer.

Don't use that 4 wire flat cable... use round alarm cable 4 x 0.22CU... it works way better, it's flexible in all directions and all white ;)

He said it's vinyl tape. Search for it on Amazon. He also secured the ends with zip ties because they started to unstick from the bike.

mine has:
3 led light strips
1 8 cell aa holder with switch.
zipties. basic and works.
