Your daughters are lucky to have you as their father. Now it's time for you to have some fun. This will be a fun build to watch.
Now dad finally has some fun!
I wish you would do a Skymaster.
Keep the restoration videos coming!
Sounds like a great project. I hope you enjoy it.
Best dad ever!
Plane os Very good.
Wow, getting rid of the Robertson stall parts. I’d like to see the parts that make up the kit spread out on the table that came off. What’s the reasoning behind that, since the Robertson kit increases the value of the plane.
There are a fair number of people who aren't fans of the Robertson STOL kit. The Robertson system has an interconnect between the flaps and ailerons which makes the ailerons droop as the flaps are extended, so that the ailerons are acting like flaps themselves. the down side of that is that the system limits aileron travel at certain degrees of flap extension, which results in less roll control. I have never flown a Robertson STOL equipped 180 or 185, but I have heard from peopl who have that it can make harder to control in a crosswind landing.
What an exciting project! Great starting point too. How long do you think the project will take to complete? Looking forward to the updates!
Can I be your son? LOL I have a 1960 172 A model in need of a restoration.......
