Nice one.. thank you.. So the question I have is how did the bushing fall out of the fwd. spar attach fitting?
Thanks!!
What is the wing walk area weight limit?
Wheel landings are the fools gold of aviation bovine scat. 60yr TW CFI/ATP
This is so cool! I'm working towards a PPL in a piper warrior and came to these videos to learn a bit more about how the aircraft is built and get into the details of what's in the engine compartment, wings, etc. Thanks for sharing your progress!
How many G's can it take with maximum load before deformation?
The airbrakes on these are well good
Hi, Could you give you WhatsApp number? just for consulting
DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO OF PUTTING THE WINGS ON A CESSNA 150
Did business with Airframe components last year (new aileron). Drove out to their shop and got a full tour. Great shop, good people. And as a PA28R owner, I'm grateful for them taking the time to have produced this video!
GREAT WORK, Only wish that I had a dad like you.
Even building my experimental. I am completely amazed and terrified about the fact that theres just not that material holding the wing to the fuselage....the strength of that material is major but the visual is like woah....theres gonna be ALOT of force going to that spar attachment point specifically.
Too bad the 180 doesnt have a stick.
1:06 - an engine, not "a engine".
Thanks for that great video. Our flight school has 7 pa 28 180 Glad to know you are out there All the best neal. Cfi a&p flight fast track Punta Gorda Fla

Where's the news on the build?
Now dad finally has some fun!
Iam jerry Ogstad and live in Idaho 81 years old and have 2000 hrs in a 180 and a 185 flew in the Idaho back country Loved it this is a good teaching I dont fly any more got to old God bless thies men stay safe
It really sucks. I found a project plane, with extras, only to discover that there is so much that can not be done By a normal small back yard builder, just to make sure the plane is savable. At this point it's looking like the only affordable way for a poor man to fly is a used powered paraglider.
Wonderful !
At 6:34 he shows the hardware protruding through the “forward attach bolt hole”. The hole is approx 3-4x the size of the bolt diameter. Is that from wear or does a bushing or something go in there to reduce the internal diameter???? If the wing bolt blew the hole out that far its amazing the nut didnt slip through.
A&P and private pilot. guys in A&P school should se these! Working heavy sheet metal at the commercial level this is great info!
Boa noite sou chapiado gosto desse serviço
Roy, you're talking like mentally impaired.
Money spent?$$$
This is sharp!!!
excellent video, seeing is believing
This restoration project looks phenomenal. I can't wait until I'm able to do the same.
This video is neither “great” nor “informative” contrary to the blind gushing of most commentators. 1. The camera is fixed in position and not once does it zoom in to show a better view of the sections being discussed. 2. There are no cutovers to show photos or cutouts of sections/pieces being described. 3. Speaker is robotic, dull and doesn’t understand how to present topics informatively. This video is terrible. Do better.
Blood pressure
Of all the tail draggers ive ever flown The 185 was by far the easiest to land. Loved every minute of flying it!!
Couldn’t agree more that precision is vital. I practice on a lonely country road that’s pretty narrow with ditches on either side. I first just line it up in landing configuration then touch down and quickly fly away; after that I add longer rolls on the main gear then finally full stop landings. Makes all my backcountry landings as easy as at the big airport.
I know the guy is an engineer from Blanik, but he got the number wrong. There were actually more than 3000 produced. I'm glad they came to the solution to keep these legendary birds flying. This brings nice memories, I learned to fly in one. Sadly, we have none of our four flying.
Are there no inspection panels aft the spar so that you catch that during an normal annual?
Unable to catch anything he says… grrrr
Gracias, me quedo como la callampa👍
Great tutorial, with regards to the forward attach fittings and other components with dissimilar metals, how is corrosion(I.e. steel on aluminum)dealt with upon inspection? Thank you.
Is this simillar to the pa-31 piper as well
What about the spar-breaks at Saratoga? I want to buy one, but have heard about accidents concerning weak spars.
Very nice job. Did Lo Presti STC a new cowl. I have always hated that forward facing step behind the spinner in the model arrow - arrows with the Continental engine have a nicely streamlined cowl to spinner match - much less drag. It's jsut a shame to see people go to all the trouble with gap seals and fillet fairings and beacon replacing only to have even more drag created by that ugly mismatch. Oops I just realized this was 5 years old. oops
did you mean to say " a new spar (doubler) going on the spar...spar going on the aircraft?"
Wow. That Piper is slick. What a dream plane. Such a nice job. I would love to have one like this.
Crazy how little material is holding the wings to the center piece!
Thanks for the tips!
Do you sell the difference components to build a plane?
So does Cessna assemble Structural components DRY??? Like, um, uh, NO SEALANT??
All that corrosion grief to save a few pounds. I guess it sounded like a good idea back in the day.
Do these guys ever reply to any of the videos? Arrogantly annoying
You don't want me wing walking, I'm too fat now!
