    I have the same compressor with a broken manifold where the pressure relief valve is. Thanks for posting this video.

    Thanks so much for posting this! I have the same model and it started leaking air from somewhere inside. It's about 15 years old so my 1st thought was to replace it. However, after running across this video, I decided to try taking it apart for inspection. Turns out, the hose exiting the tank had sprung a leak. I took that hose to my local auto parts dealer and got a replacement with clamps for less than $5. The compressor works perfectly now!

    Thank you for your video Bryan, it helped me disassemble my Husky air compressor. II had a leak in the hose from the tank to the manifold. The hose had a hole, so I fixed it with metal tape and Gorilla tape on top with a hose clamp over the area with the hole. Worked perfect! Easier than taking the hose off, and I think it will hold for what I use it for. Thanks again!

      Glad it helped. I figured that there are at least soem people out there with one of these that dont want to throw it out. Thanks for watching!

    I thought I was the only one who'd spend the time trying to repair/salvage a small air compressor like this. I commend your creativeness. In my case the model 41004 unit I have had been bounced around by the original owner and one of the front feet had broken out the housing. Was able to install some wood backup pieces and mount a new support piece to replace the two feet. Now I have a working compressor for small projects in my shop. I have a second unit where, besides the broken foot, the aluminum pressure pipe broke off right at the compressor fitting. So far I haven't been able to find a ferrule to fit it. Hope it's not some metric tubing size. Am also having to replace some of the 6 rubber mounting pads for the compressor that have disintegrated over time. Noticed that the one on the top of your compressor is missing, but it may have been stuck in the black housing you had to remove. Thank you for the video and showing your creativeness and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who enjoys doing stuff like this.

    Great video. I have the same compressor and it works fine, but your video caught my eye in case I ever have a problem with it. I'm always impressed with folks like you who can find a way to fix anything with creative reuse of substitute parts. Glad you figured out why the ground wiring was where it was!

    Thanks for the video. Mine was not the same repair but yours was helpful in how to open the case, I think I would have struggled before finding the screws hidden by the wheels. Fortunately my air leak was simply a leaking hose.

      @@bryansprojects3570 I will subscribe, that was actually relaxing to watch. Didn't know it had a drain valve. Just pour out a half cup of rusty water so maybe you saved it for a few more years. Many thanks ✌💯

    Mine just suddenly would not run yesterday. I think it's the switch, and there's a seller on eBay with one that looks like the original. I would never have gotten the case open without this video. Now to find a long #2 Phillips screwdriver ....

    Damn, I've got this exact same problem but I'm not nearly as talented as u are and I don't have the tools to make the repair u did. 😥 I bought the air compressor from someone who said it was working fine. I go to use it the first time & the motor runs, but the regulate is broken so there's no air blowing out. I got scammed out of $40. That pisses me off!! U just can't trust anyone these days. 😥😡

    Thanks for the video! I'm trying to fix a slightly "newer" model of Air Scout, the 41214, which need new internal hoses and wires. Any idea where to get replacement hose for that mesh coated flexible hose that connects the tank to the manifold? And in mine, the wires need to be replaced, too. I know nothing about electronics...any idea what type of wire I need to get (I.e. what specs would I search for or ask for in the hardware store?)? I know you're not customer support for Husky, but just thought I'd ask haha. Thanks, regardless!

    • @bryansprojects3570
      @bryansprojects3570  3 роки тому

      Any rubber hose that you can find at the hardware store should work fine. The wire should just be stranded copper wire so it bends easily. You probably need about 14 gauge wire and you should be fine.

    Hey Bryan, excellent work salvaging the compressor... I would have taken the same approach... making it better than the original manufacturing... The "safety" ground theory/thinking is correct... the implementation though is not quite right/satisfactory... the reason being is the Teflon tape used at the joints could possibly/likely interrupt/isolate each section of pipe from the welded stud/wire connection... if an electrical failure/short should occur it's likely a section (the one the switch is actually connected to) would be live/hot. anyway... you can test this with a continuity tester/meter... However, even if you get continuity... it is best practice to provide a "daisy-chain jumper(s)" between all sections of pipe isolated via the Teflon tape; to/from the original welded stud equipment ground wire... Hope I made sense and did not add confusion... I have an electronics/electrical background... Overall, I think you did a great job with the implementation and video. We all appreciate the effort that goes into doing videos like this!

    • @bryansprojects3570
      @bryansprojects3570  4 роки тому

      I understand all of that but every taped pipe joint I have ever taken apart has obvious metal to metal contact. If there was more of a danger I would test continuity across each joint.

    • @DaveNewEng
      @DaveNewEng 4 роки тому

      @@bryansprojects3570 ... Yeah, it's not a real high likelihood or danger... It's more from a manufacturing - UL compliance and fail-safe standard if you were manufacturing these for sale. If the pipes were welded, brazed, or soldered a wired daisy chain would not be needed/required. Sometimes they tack weld them, sometimes a clamp or a variety of other metal fasteners are used to ensure the equipment/safety ground is not compromised over the useful life-cycle of the equipment...

    What is the fitting size for a quick connect I got this from my friend who passed away and can't find a fitting for it anywhere

    • @bryansprojects3570
      @bryansprojects3570  4 роки тому

      It was the standard one they sell at Lowe's etc., the same we we use at work too. Your friend may have changed to something else, it was standard pipe thread so it can be changed to whatever style you want.
