Those cheap Amazon catalytic converter don't have enough Catalytic material so depending on threshold they might or might not work.

Besided the performance issue- do you really have to replace the cat converter?

I tell many of my clients having P0420 on a Hondas were/are to junk the car. Because not using genuine Cat & O2 get callbacks.
At the same time these vehicles have well over 166,000 & over 10 years old. If Cat is stolen, then you have no car.
Say if you get a Walker, Catalytic Converter then it's going to last about 2.2 to 4 years. And you have to replace it again.
And some has an O2 sensor on the Catalytic Converter that must be replaced.
If you are DIYer then go for it. Do not buy catalytic converter that is under $311.00. Unless you plan to flip that car to someone.
Many times, the O2 Sensor is seized & frozen on the Catalytic Converter.

My 07 Honda accord had aftermarket Cat installed and now the OBD II sensor says my sensor “Bank 1” air/fuel ratio is what’s causing check engine light and nothing else was detected what so ever. Is it possible that all I need is a new sensor for bank 1 ? And does is it need to be OEM sensor ? I believe the OEM for my Honda accord is “Denso” and also does the sensor for “Bank 2” also have to be OEM denso brand ? They replaced the “Bank 2” sensor since they stole my entire CAT and almost the entire exhaust system and I’m wondering if the bank 2 sensor is aftermarket and somehow confusing the car and causing the Bank 1 sensor to mess up. I really need help bad with this because I can’t find any used cars at all what so ever In the $8,000 price range that have less than 120,000 miles with good gas mileage and all I can find all over Northern California is the stupid ass “09’ Toyota Yaris” in my price range that’s decent on gas and I do not like anything about that car so I really need help whoever reads this message and what I should do ? Will the aftermarket CAT pass smog if I have OEM sensors in bank 1&2 ? Or is it possible the CAT itself even with brand new OEM sensors still fail smog if I replace the sensors with Denso brand OEM ? Please help haha 😂 I have 178K miles on my Honda and it runs amazing even with the issue I have rn… not a single issue besides this problem. What should I do y’all ? Thank you! I have the PO420 code and says Bank 1 sensor. When they put bank 2 sensor on the new aftermarket cat I wasn’t told if it is aftermarket sensor or OEM either. Do I need to replace both with brand new denso OEM ? And even if I do will it pass smog even with the aftermarket CAT ? I don’t wanna have to buy a new car or a new cat..

      @@vulkandeathgrip5568 atggreat7981 & I say you don't have to buy OEM O2 Sensor.
You will need a DVM/DMM to check the O2. Since I don't know if yours is a 4 or 6 cylinders
Go under the car (after jacking/jack stands) & disconnect both O2 Sensors. Then test the sensors with meter
Reply with your email here if you need more help.
Are you sure you have no leaks from engine to output of Catalytic Converter?

I have a 2011 Honda Pilot EXL that keeps acting up on me. I'll be driving home from work at 70mph, my VTM-4 light comes on along with my check engine light, my speed on my cruise control drops from 70 to 60 mph especially climbing up an upgrade. Also when the RPMs are between 3,000 and 4,000 as I hit the accelerator, she spudders, but as I release the accelerator she's fine. Could this very well be the catalytic converter that is suffocating the motor and making her sputter? If so if I were to punch out the honeycomb and make it hollow, would that affect my car, other than emissions?

I had this code on my honda civic 2003 ex , I remove the 2 oxygen sensor clean them with a cleaner spray , i inspected the catalizer converter i saw i had a leak cause my exhaust flange gasket was finish I replace it bought a cataclean , I read in the bottle of cataclean when my level of gaz is around 4 gallon empty the bottle in the tank driving 10 or 15 miles fill your tank completely, after I finish to put the cataclean I erased the code p0420 , five minute later during i drive the car the check engine was come back I still driving the car for 45 minutes when I scan the code it gave me p0132 , i think it was about the cataclean I put in the tank , I went to a gaz station I filled the tank , once I leave the gaz station the check engine light is gone , tomorrow morning check engine light come back with p0420 I still driving the car after four day the check engine gone by itself , now my car is more good in gaz , I drive 30 minutes back in fourth to work Monday to Saturday before I have to fill my car each Sunday, now Sunday I almost have a half of tank of gaz
