Years back I substituted in a pre school autistic classroom. My first day when I came back from lunch there was a cake in the room. I asked who's birthday was it? They said the cake is for you. I said it wasn't my birthday. They said it was for me because I was the only male sub that ever came back after lunch! 😂

I feel if something as simple as removing skin tags is an absolute must! It will make you so much more happier without that constant reminder. I lost my mom who was 94 a few months ago and I miss her. It was one of the hardest jobs caring for her but I'm glad I did now I have only happy thoughts of her! You wont regret any of the loving care you are giving her.

I took care of my mom for 11 yrs. When places or people told me "no" to something we needed I would ask "What would have to happen to turn that No into a Yes?"
Most of the time they would work with me and we made it happen. So many people were understanding about the situation. Prayers for you and your mom.

Went through all of this with my dad- it is stressful and overwhelming. I so get it. Walkers, wheelchairs etc can be paid for by medicare or medicaid but they told me only if a doctor ordered the wheelchair, walker, etc.

I am so happy you have the job at the school, you will have holidays off and summer. The nice thing is that now that you are in the system, you can move around till you find your perfect fit. With your knowledge you can probably work your way into the office and do what you do best… paperwork and communication Love your channel and all your info. Thanks for being here for all of us

    HAHAHA!
WELCOME to the world of getting mom to appointments!
Been there done that! It is an absolute circus!
I frequently recieved a morning call for an afternoon discharge to someplace I didn't know.
Because mom said "okay", my son will transport.
Because they all ignored her dimensia.
They did not recognize her inability to walk, she said "I can walk" (she could not!).
    Hot mess!

I'm not sure that the Supremes were thinking of you tres amigos when singing "Someday We'll Be Together". But the song popped into my head when you said it at 12:00. I never got to see the Supremes all together, but did catch Mary Wilson in a casino lounge in CT maybe 10 years ago, and she sounded/looked amazing still. She passed in 2021 at age 76.

You are your mothers angel! you are blessed to have her with you! My sister has 2 our mom and... her husband and I can so appreciate the care giving side! I think the preshool job you are correct about the other jobs would work better also! Keep up the great work you are doing I pray for you that your stress levels will go down also! Have a great holiday season 2024!

Hi Tracey, you have my sympathy and understanding, I ‘doggie paddled in the deep end’ for 12 years with my parents decline in their later years. It was hard, so many organisations offering support but that was all tick box web site stuff and the true support was minuscule unless you paid a fortune for it. I would do it all again. You are a wonderful person. ❤️Geoff (UK)

I’m 53 and I care for a one year old, and it’s just one child and I’m completely exhausted when I leave at the end of the day!! 😂 Hope you get one of the other jobs. I had one of those skin tags on the back of my neck and was about to go to a dermatologist, in the meantime I just kept playing with it and twisting it and it ended up falling off! I hope I don’t get anymore, so annoying lol. You’re so good with your mom and I can only imagine how hard it is, I’m not there yet but I’m sure someday I’ll be taking care of my mom too. Merry Christmas Tracey! 🎄

If you do things out of guilt or social pressure, you will have resentment towards those people, so it is always good to NEVER do anything with family members because you are feeling pressure in any way. If you want to be conflicted and uncomfortable, then by all means, step up and make yourself miserable, but unless you really want to do something for the right reasons....in other words, because you want to do it, then you are setting yourself up for psychological pain.

    • @michelle7352

I hear you, but sometimes you just HAVE to. No money, no other relatives, etc. Best scenario is if you pray pray, pray and your heart melts with love and gratitude. But care giving is still stressful and caregivers must look out for their own mental health. When caregiver works in FT job, then all the local social services must be brought on board. It's possible as I did it. And if you don't have daytime care who will make meals, arrange for Meals on Wheels. So I could spend the night and be caretaker then. Until you've been the one responsible for all the care for your relative, you can't realize how much work it is!

    • @tomdallas3690
      @tomdallas3690 3 години тому

@@michelle7352 I can only imagine how rough it is. Mental health is the most important thing in any person's life. If you have conflict with those you are forced to interact with, you will resent them, and resent life. I have it pretty good, but have been getting rattled in a huge way about some things that would seem minor to what some of you deal with. I will be putting my foot down, but just thinking about how to maneuver correctly is exhausting, because you do not want to offend.
I can pretty much guarantee that almost all of the care-giving people do causes severe emotional distress to the caregiver....if it is a family member, and if the care-giver has any conflict at all. In other words, if you are not jumping with jot to do it, you are going to potentially ruin your life and destroy your mental health.

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dryeth the bones. Proverbs 17:22. My scripture reading today. So true, and true of you and Joy. Thanks for dhowing us broken spirits how it's done, lol! For real, youre both awesome. Also, Im glad you said I dont have to sell everything and move into a van, because I really didn't want to do that, lol! (Altho the Bible says something along those lines, doesn't it?) Hey Tracy T!! Talk to the person in charge of operations of the school you're working at & ask them what specific days they have 'off' for breaks & vacations coming up ... THEN if you have to set any follow up appointments after stitches are removed you'll know when you can schedule Joy to go back there!!! And you don't have to stress yourself out with scheduling her!! Saves you a little bit of trouble!!! BIGGEST fan & Minnesota Man - Greg L. 💜💗💜💗💜😊

You shouldn't have paid for walker and wheelchair. Medicare pays. You just rent for as long as you need. If you then later want to buy I think Medicare pays for that too. I've only rented. Many times. I call the durable medical supplies store and they handle with Medicare. Anyway, I am too late since you already bought. Hope you get refunded.

I'm sure there are non-profits or programs in your area should your mother need help for supplies. May take a bit of digging. They are generally in high elderly population areas. Plus, her insurance may cover certain medical equipment
Hang in there! I would do it all again as challenging as it was! Only have one momma 💜🫂
