- On this episode of Extreme UTV Tech we show you how to lower and recline the seats in your Polaris RZR SXS. The RZR Seat Lowering Base Kit we are reviewing is from Longhorn Fab Shop. They lower the back of your seat 1.5" to 2" while also reclining them an additional 6 degrees over stock. This gives you more headroom for that chopped cage or lowered aftermarket look as well as a more comfortable seating position. The best part is that these RZR Seat Lowering Bases come with their own metal latching mechanism. So not only is your seat lowering base safer because it is made of steel but the latch is safer as well. This is important if you are pushing your machine to the limit like we are in racing and many race promoters are mandating they be used. I have some big comfy PRP Seats in my Busted Knuckle Films RZR XP Turbo and struggled with another set of seat lowering bases to get them positioned correctly. These Longhorn Seat lowering bases for polaris rzr solved that issue while making them easier to get in and out of the machine at the same time. The only negative to this kit is that you lose the factory slider, but we never really used them to begin with. I’ve had these seat bases for a year and was just dealing with them rattling back and forth once I watched your video I put those rubber pads and and boy did that seat tighten right up can’t even push it around now reall solid mounted in there. Thanks guys

They are some of the best seat bases that we have found for sure. The new latch mechanism is the key.
I like how they recline back, im 5'5 but cant stand being straight up while driving my machine so i could definitely use a set of these and i love yalls channel i watch just about every video yall post

Just what I'm needed in my 2017 4 seater highlifter RZR. With 2 growing boys in the rear seats I need all the help I can get
Jason Johns doing the 2 front seats helped a ton. They dont work well on the rear seats since they already sit against the firewall.

Those are really nice seat bases. I don't have aftermarket seats but like how they moved the latch forward and lower that much. I'm 6'1" and with a chopped cage could use a little more head room. Only thing I could suggest to long horn is putting a retainer spring on the lever so they don't open up by themselves. Didn't look like there was anything from stopping that. Great video. Like watching your channel.
there is a retainer spot to keep them from coming unlatched. I've raced King of the Hammers and multiple endurance races and mine have never budged.

I am in a 16 turbo i hit my head with my helmet on with the stock cage do to my height. This kit should help that until I can afford to rework the cage ! Looks like a good product

I'm 6'-5" 300 pounds and I have a couplI’m 6’-5” 320 pounds and I have a couple of questions. (1) while I would love the increased headroom, I‘m more concerned about legroom. Does the increase tilt of 6 degree make the seat itself move forward any? (2) My factory seats have adjustable positions (I obviously drive with mine the whole way back). I assume this lowered base would eliminate that adjustment thus making the seat a fixed seat. Is this correct? If so my wife (5’-3”) would never be able to drive again.
it makes it a fixed position without a slider, it does not make your leg room much less at all. Many people just setup the passenger seat for their wife and simply swap seats out if she wants to drive

Rancher383 PRP deagans with the removable seat cushion. They are a little more difficult to get in and out of. But awesome for racing

I think it's more of a strength for the Rzr to sit up a little higher for better visibility unlike the Maverick X3. Better visibility can make a big difference when racing or rock climbing.

I'm 6.0 210lbs. For confort I need more leg room, jack the seat up and the seat-back in a more upright position.
Nor'easter Playa I’m 6-1 and felt more comfortable with these.
Do you miss not being able to slide the seat back or forward? I do like that you get more headroom and the base is made out of metal. Great review, love the channel.
Not at all, if you have two drivers you can always set the passenger seat up for them and swap the seats out when they drive

Oh yea, I was talking about leg room, like you showed in the video. Passengers usually complain about the front seats being too close to their knees.
It actually makes for more leg room for the backseat riders.

I have PRP seats that are all the way back in the stock seat base. The PRP already have a greater recline angle then stock Polaris seats. With Long Horn seat base adding even more recline angle to the PRP seat will this cause the PRP seat when pushed all the way back not be able to be as far back as with the stock seat base?

I have 2 seater xp 1000 and I'm 6'4". Will these give a little more leg room ?

I see that you get more headroom which is huge but I’m 6’5” tall and leg room is just as big a problem. Does this move you forward at all? My knees are so close to the dash that I won’t run the stock RZR in dash dry box because my right knee hits it. I would love to get some feedback on how this affects legroom before I pull the trigger on a set. .
Leg room isnt really affected with these.
Do they wiggle at all. The utvinc ones I got have a ton of wobble in them

How bad does the metal base rattle if you dont have someone sitting in the seat and riding?
They do not rattle at all once you put the rubber isolators from the stock bases on them.
Does it feel better for trail ridding and should I get pro armor seat or stay stock
aftermarket seats are an improvement along with bases, we like PRP for seats
so you would loose the slider function with these bases?
yes, but I also never use the sliders anyway
