I noticed around 1:18 or so, you have what looks like a plastic wheel for your snails to play with! Could you tell me how you made that? It looks so entertaining for snails and fun to watch them on!

I may be very very wrong, but it looks like a silicone seal for an electric pressure cooker, like Instant Pot, but way smaller.
I have never been so at peace while hearing about snails.
Can you eat them?

I have a mystery snail and I believe the trap door is gone. Low activity. What should I do? I have tried air baths but still little movement.

I currently have 4 mystery snails, 8 ramshorn snails, 1 pagoda snail and 1 devil spike snail all sharing a 15x15 cube tank (about 16 gallons total). I test the water every day and do water changes based on what the tests show. However, I am noticing this "funk" smell in the tank, and can only smell it when I get my nose right by the water. Nitrates and nitrites are at 0ppm, pH is 6.8 (it's slowly rising each day), ammonia is 0ppm, so I'm like, where is this coming from? There's nothing decaying or dead in there. Do freshwater snails just produce a funk smell over time? I have houses mystery snails before, but in a much larger tank and it was only a trio, and never noticed this smell.

I used about an inch/inch and a half crushed coral atop my soil substrate and it’s great for calcium. It can make the water milky if it’s stirred up too much tho. I’ve noticed mine eat the dead parts of growing plants and avoid the healthy sections as long as they have food. Super cute snails to watch
My baby snail never eats on any of the foods I provide… I’m hoping he/she will as it grows.
I do use wonder shell and I do provide an algea wafer but my coreys usually eat the wafer once is starts to fluff up and the snail never seems to. It does enjoy cleaning up my plants though

Love the tone of your videos! You are the reason why I got my first mystery snails. They are so relaxing and fun to watch. Although the smell is not much fun, I vacuum the bottom and change the water once a week. I clean the floating hatcheries and take out dead snails, if there are any, but it still smells awful. Is it normal that it smells so bad? Do you have tricks that you could share?

I caught 4 invasive Island Apple Snails a month ago. They laid eggs, had babies, and they and their babies are growing well. But do they have a similar care? Luckily mine has been growing well. Not a Mystery though, it's Pomacea maculata.
All my mystery snails died over night. I did a water change and cleaned the filter. The water became very cloudy. I thought it would clear up overnight. Instead all my mystery snails died. Sad situation.
I just rescue some from Petdmart today they look like half a dozen crack eggs🥺poor baby's I had to take all of them 4.99 I got 15 of them....they told me there pump went haywire... Also wanted some shrimps but apparently they all dead😢

I breed snails and have had no issue with pitting or shell damage but i struggle with flimsy trapdoors after they reach adulthood. is it a lack of protein in their diets? i took them out and fed them bloodworms, but i fear they aren't getting food because my other fish get to it first.

I have a mystery snail eggsack that hatched a good 18 babies today. Because of just how well the adult snail in the tank has eaten all the algae off the walls, and probably everywhere else, and given that I have Endler's in the tank that will eat all the biofilm and whatever else the plants may have to offer, I cut some algae wafers into smaller pieces to scatter throughout the tank so the babies would have plenty to eat within easy reach of wherever they are. And then I watch the mommy snail run over a baby snail in a mad rush to get at a bit of the algae wafer. I had fed her earlier in the day so was rather surprised she was still so hungry. Luckily, it was only the edge of her foot that actually went over top of the baby snail, so the baby was completely fine. A bit concerning though that the mommy snail is such unconcerned about her babies that she will just crawl right over top of them if they get in her way...
Hey there, very helpful video, this will certainly help me when I decide to have snails again, specially the hardness part.
I guess was overfeeding mine as I used to put a piece of bottomfeeder food every day, but I felt only the fish actually ate it, and I thought it was because the snails were just too slow. I will feed my future snails less frequently form now on.

Mystery snails do tend to poop a lot, as they do eat a lot. So in smaller tanks such as a ten I personally only keep 1 or POSSIBLY 2. Regular water changes will be important as well as keeping up with the quality of your water.

I have to boil the cuddle bones before before in because if not, they float but will boiling them, make them not as good to put in?
You can just put it in. No need to boil. It will sink eventually 👍🐌💜
How often should I feed them ? I have one snail . I don’t want him for cleaning the tank . Is it ok to feed him every day or will he overeat ?
The best would be every other day or every 2 days for just 1 mystery. They won't over eat per say, rather they will just stop eating when they are full. 💜🐌💜
